Re: PS5 Pro's Proprietary Upscaler PSSR Is Looking Very Promising

LavenderShroud

@throwmeaname I feel people invest too much stock in going off reviews. If you want to know how a game is, just play the damn thing. I’ve seen my brother enjoy and have a lot of fun in games that are negatively reviewed. Hell, I enjoyed Sonic 06 with him! The only thing I do care about in reviews is if a game is truly glitchy enough that it actually makes in unplayable.

Re: Like It or Not, This Is Why PS5 Pro Doesn't Have a Disc Drive

I’d still rather have physical. Granted the only systems I have are a 3DS, 360, Vita, and GBC. I’m thinking of getting a PS4, but would still rather have physically. You can get used games cheaper year round, rather than having to wait for a sale on the digital store. My brother is the same way, having a massive physical game collection, but will buy digital Switch games at when they run massive sales or for games that aren’t available physically. I really don’t like all digital anything. My internet is lousy, and don’t want to have to deal with waiting forever to download an entire game. DLC or updates are fine, but it’s too much of a headache for me.

Re: Spider-Man 2 Won't Receive Any PS5 Story DLC

@WhiteTrashGuy I remember how it seemed like it was really good. I don’t have it, but I watched my brother play and took a few turns myself. Then all of a sudden I noticed how it said we were like 85% done with the story. It was barely starting, and then we were at the end?! I also felt the last part of it just completely ripped of Web of Shadows. I was so enjoying this game, then was completely put off and just irritated at how lousy it was…

Re: Ex-PlayStation Exec Shawn Layden Says There's Been a 'Collapse' in Gaming Creativity

I think it mostly all depends what you’re looking for. Yearly Assassin’s Creed, or Call of Duty just feel excessive. People are at least getting tired of AC, feeling it’s all the same. Then you have yearly releases in things like Mario, which covers multiple genres, then you have a new Neptunia every year that tries its hand at new genres each times now. While I’ll admit I’m getting tired of that and just want a new mainline game, there’s definitely creativity in how they tackle genres. I feel there’s definitely creativity out there if you know where to look. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is definitely one of the most creative games I’ve seen lately.

Quality is also a huge factor. As I said, people are clearly burnt out on Assassin’s Creed. There are a lot of Pokémon Fans who say there is a huge decline in quality and were tired of the yearly releases.

There is plenty of creativity, you just need to know where to look. But then again, I’m really not much of a gamer, and really picky about what I’d be interested in. I’d prefer smaller studio games outside like Nintendo or Tomb Raider/Unchatered, and things like Dragon Ball, so I’m mostly going off what I’ve seen lately.

Re: Opinion: The Price of Playing PS5 Games Day One Is Getting Higher and Higher

LavenderShroud

I never really thought about that. My brother bought the Ultimate Edition for Sparking Zero for the bonuses. But was the three days early part of the cost? I personally don’t have any systems newer than a Vita, so I just buy my games used. Still, I do agree that these weird pricing strategies when most games lately seem to need some big patch to properly become playable.

Re: PS5 Fans Believe Halo Could Make Its PlayStation Debut

If they actually did port Halo to PlayStation, I’d honest see it as a confirmation of MS not knowing what to do anymore and slowly cease the console market. I mean sure, they have other exclusives like Gears and Forza, but if they move they’re bread and butter, Halo, which has been in severe decline, to PlayStation, then what’s to stop porting other games and even continue console development? My brother had absolutely no interest even in an Xbox zone, but bought one just to try Forza Horizon 3, then got more games later. But it’s true, exclusives help sell consoles. If I want to play like Ratchet & Clank or Mario, I’ll buy the consoles those games are for. If Xbox has no exclusives anymore, why even make a console?
