Re: What Is PSSR for PS5 Pro?

LavenderShroud

Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but anyone else remember being able to just buy a console to play a fun game without worrying about how powerful or “upscaling” it could do?

Re: PS5 Pro was a '5-Year Project', In Development Before PS5's Launch

LavenderShroud

My only real question about this is why not just have gone with the Pro in the beginning? Why even release the base PS5? I get these things are always planned in advance, but if this was always the idea... Were they concerned over backlash over a high priced console like back when the PS3 was released? I’m not really sure how to explain what I’m trying to say.

@ecurb7 Agreed. While I do understand the complaints people have, I’m always quick to just say “I have fun” when commenting on these posts. I don’t play games a lot, and I don’t plan to get a Pro. I have older systems and consoles, nothing newer ones than a PS Vita. And I have fun and enjoy playing games. I’m not into all these new things, but I’m not going to necessarily complain. I just stick with what I enjoy and have fun.

Re: Sony Says the Best Time to Get a PS5 Is Now

LavenderShroud

I’d rather get a PS4 and even looked into it a little. The only things that I’m really wanting to try on PS5 that I haven’t played with my brother are Stellar Blade and Infinity Nikki. Aside from those, nothing has really grabbed my attention compared to the numerous releases on PS4…But that’s just me.

Re: Ubisoft Confident Assassin's Creed Shadows Will Make February Launch

LavenderShroud

Let’s see if Ubisoft even survives that long…I do have high hopes for this game being successful though, don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to play it myself, but I believe it will do rather well or rather poorly, but it all depends on if Ubisoft can stay afloat until then. And lately all the news we hear about the company is less than stellar…

Re: Ubisoft Disbands Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Team After Poor Sales, Claims Report

LavenderShroud

Everyone got too used to Ubi’s sales huh? Honestly since they do these huge sales soon after a game is released that I’ve only heard about, I don’t game much, it but them in the ass. Also, it’s like what, every other day now that Ubisoft is in the news? Now if there IS truth to this rumor, then yeah, how much longer before they start closing up more of their divisions until none remain?

I’m not trying to be all doom and gloom or a naysayer on all these Ubisoft articles. But it’s honestly just starting to look like their days truly are numbered. Especially when nearly every single article is negative about what is happening inside the company. Strikes, buyouts, financials, it’s not looking good.

Re: Crimson Desert Dev Found PS5 Exclusive Opportunity Appealing

@AhmadSumadi That is probably the most levelheaded and spot on thing I’ve ever read on here. Sure, I’ll make snarky comments occasionally if I don’t necessarily like something. But I don’t just go onto articles throwing fits if it’s about something I dislike. At the end of the day, we’re all gamers, to some degree, and have games that are for us or things that aren’t. For me it’s JRPGs or mobile games, for someone else it’s getting a Platinum Trophy in Call of Duty. To each our own.

Re: Sony's Guerrilla Sounds Completely Done with the Killzone Series

LavenderShroud

I’ve never played these games, but it’s a shame to see a long-ish standing series end. Especially since it didn’t even get like a 10th anniversary game? But at the same time, I think it’s good when a series actually finds a place to reach its conclusion; Uncharted, Jak & Daxter, etc.. It feels refreshing to me, since most series seem to go on forever even when they’ve run their course like Assassin’s Creed.

Re: Naughty Dog's Next Game Will Reportedly Put More of a Focus on 'Player Freedom'

LavenderShroud

I was wondering just last week when there would be any news for a new game from Naughty Dog. But I don’t know, I kinda like plots in games. I can enjoy some that don’t have any, sure. Atelier games I like, and some have rather loose plots until later I. The story. Or just things like Mario Party. But when me and my brother played The Lost Legacy, it was just amazing how great it was story wise. Curious to see how this pans out…

Re: PS5 Pro Adds Ray Tracing to Alan Wake 2 in Big Tech Improvement

LavenderShroud

@NEStalgia Ah. I think I understand it now. That’s actually kinda cool. I honestly had zero idea what it was until you explained, thanks a lot!

And as for the FPS, I was playing the game with my brother. He is highly autistic, so to him it looked weird, when he pointed it out I did notice how much quicker things tended to move. And it was only like two minutes in. But to him it was a bit nerve wracking. I don’t play games a whole lot, and mostly play Switch in handheld mode or even mobile games, so that may be why it was different for me.

Re: PS5 Pro Adds Ray Tracing to Alan Wake 2 in Big Tech Improvement

LavenderShroud

So this “ray tracing” shtick everyone raves about adds reflections to mirrors? Pretty sure games could do that before…Either way I am looking forward to this game. And I’d gladly play in Quality mode at 30FPS. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at 60 honestly just did not look good to me, like the movements were just exaggerated and way too fast. I really don’t see how people enjoy it? Not knocking what you like, it’s just not for me.
