Re: Gran Turismo 7's PS5, PS4 Campaign Requires an Online Connection

That's just stupid. Everything needs an online connection these days. My mother got a new oven that needed to be connected to WiFi.

I have a stable internet connection, but there are several days a year when the internet it down for a couple of hours, even up to a day at times. Last year I wanted to play MGS5 when my internet was down, I couldn't even boot it up.

@get2sammyb Very true. Though I think that has to do with the fact that you cannot upgrade from a physical PS4 to a digital PS5 copy if you have the PS5 without disc drive. So effectively everyone is getting screwed because of this. I think it's also part of the reason why those expensive editions don't even come with the physical disc, to ensure it's a digital copy that allows you to upgrade it to the PS5 version if you ever want to. Again, it's another mind boggling decision, but it seems that they want to avoid that one situation at all costs: where people have the (physical) game, but cannot upgrade.

Not saying it's the right decision, but I think this is why it is the way it is.

The upgrade is stupid, but it makes sense. The PS5 version is $10 cheaper, if upgrading was free, you might as well buy the PS4 version and upgrade to PS5. The actual question is why the PS4 version should be $10 cheaper. If you buy a game on PC, you don't get to pay less because you have a potato PC and run it at lower settings.

@get2sammyb ''Does the organisation not understand that the market for these Collector’s Editions are the very same people who demand physical versions of everything?''

Maybe that's the point, to sell the expensive limited edition AND the regular game. The people who buy the expensive limited edition are probably in a position to buy the physical game on top of it as well.

Re: PS5 Revision Teardown Prompts Cooling Concerns

Haven't had any issues at all.

The question is how many consoles did they test? Probably just one. One may run a little hotter than the other, but the average for the models could be the same. Or maybe the ambient temperature was a little higher. But it's all within the safe range. And like many others have pointed out, they didn't even measure the internals. Too many questions to draw any meaningful conclusions.

@b1ackjack I can sorta live with Quill if the writing is good. But Drax looks a little weird I agree.

I get that they're inspired by the comic looks with the bright colours, but the problem is that this game has a realistic art style. The bright colours clash a little with the realistic art style. If it had a comic art style (why isn't this a thing?), it would look a lot better I think.
