The Wolf Within and Borderlands were surprisingly wonderful games. I guess because I had expected a "meh" experience when I bought them on sale, but they were brilliant.. as mentioned, Borderlands was greatly enjoyable and surprisingly funny. The characters were enjoying as well. Walking Dead was enjoyable enough. Game Of Thrones, on the other hand, was one that I did not finish. It was a depressing and slow game for me, and it did not make me want to continue on. So far, Guardians is interesting, but I really feel its lacking that magic that some of the others have had.. which is disappointing, given the fact that the title has some fantastic possibilities to be amazing. So far it has not reached that yet. Some of the music is.. oddly chosen. The episode titles and trophies are titled like some classic tunes, but a few of the soundtrack have never heard of like that repetitive song-thing early on Ep1 when Starlord puts his headphones on... which makes me think there were a couple of Telltale composed titles, because they stunk in comparison to what they could have selected from such a memorable era of songs. Oh well, maybe the next episodes will work out better. Here's hopin'
Hey.... this was a post on your forum yesterday. Someone copied the idea into an article?? lol. As fun as the concept is, it will never happen.. the storage space alone for all those ISO images would be so cost prohibitive, it would never happen. SNES images are only a few meg in sizes.. some games ie: FF games) use multiple CD images. It'll never happen.. but I admit it sure would be a cool little item, even if it did end up as $200.
Sammy.. dude..umm.. The spoiled panties was pretty lowbrow. The concept almost writes its own jokes, so there were lots of funny comments you could make with this topic without going for gross.
I realize that its an indie team, and watching the footage, it looks like they are exactly that - indie. What engine is it using? Unity?. The cost is too high for what it is (something that crops up with some (but not all) PSVR games. Looking forward to actual full titles from larger developers. At this rate, I will be picking up SkyrimVR just to get a big name, lengthy title on the headset.. and make it feel that I didn't spend a wallop of cash to get a device which is almost exclusively home to "VR experiences" and VR indies.
@RedFinch Aww man.. I thought I got a good deal on it when it was about $8. I have so many games now from these damn sales that I won't be able to finish any of them. I feel like I am just collecting them now.
@rjejr Snake pass on i3 would def not a problem. Dunno why it would say i5. The jaguar CPU in the PS3 is less powerful than an i3, and lets not even mention the Switch's portable CPU...
hadlee73 - Skyrim is very scalable. It runs on my cheap 2Gb generic tablet at 25fps at 720p. This does not mean it is the Special Edition with the godrays - I suspect it will be the original edition only in VR. a locked 60fps is not an issue. Mind you, Digital Foundry did some testing on the Special Edition and figured that the PS4 version would probably be running at 60fps, but was locked at 30, as the XB1 version would not be able to match that framerate, which would do a disservice to MS fans- so they locked them both to the same FPS. Sony/Bethesda also may decide to use reprojection to run it at 120fps as well.
@Neolit It would have to be Fallout 3/NV VR.. Fallout 4 is so frankensteined, that it still drops frames in a couple of spots on my Pro! No way could it do 60/120fps at 1080p on an orig PS4.
You know, I think I will.. I was always a big Elder Scrolls fan, and have played this on my X360, PS3, PC and PS4. I thought it was cool on my PC with a 3d monitor, so I think would really like to be "living in" Skyrim for awhile. You know, this game is proving to be pretty versatile after all. First it appears on the handheld Switch and now on a 120Hz PSVR headset. Who knew!? My only concern is that I am still not immune to motion sickness from a lot of free-moving. I assume I just need to get used to it... I have only had the PSVR for a little over a month.
“Well, for me, Metal [Gear] is espionage with political fiction. Right? So, because of that, there’s no reason that zombies would show up.”
Umm. MGS got more and more surreal and supernatural. MGSV was about as bonkers as it gets. I would not have ever been surprised if a Kojima MGS title had Zombies show up. In that world, anything bizarre makes sense, so the comment was a little bit ironic.
Canada here, PS4 players only get the Demo button. DLing Titanfall2 from the "demo" option. Still take a few hours yet (lower bandwidth option), but the information on the current download says "Full game" instead of the "Demo" wording. That may mean nothing though, as other game demos vary on what is in that desc. section. Will see.. I understand the free games are under EA Access which PC and Xbox have - but not PS4, so we get Demos - but what that "demo" is, I will let you know if someone else does not do it before me.
I found myself going back to ESO - and I hate myself for it. Its such a gigantic time waster as it just goes on and on and on (etc) and I have so many other games to play. I planned on playing some Wolfenstein that I got on that last PSN sale for about $7, but after an hour.. it felt so irritating I angrily deleted it. There goes the cost of a few cups of coffee I will never be able to buy now. :
I read in a review that Little Nightmares was great, but that it only lasted 7 hours. This is fine though - I remember buying Resident Evil (original) on the original Playstation. It was about $60 and took me about 7 hours to leisurely go through it. Looking forward to this one - something different is always great!
I like this site.. I really do, but I find that reviews are far too nestled into the "very good, but I don't want to say great" 8/10 comfort zone for Vita. I took a look at the recent reviews here.. Killzone: Mercenaries 8/10 Kickbeat: 8/10 Spelunky 8/10 Dragons Crown 8/10 Real Boxing 8/10 Open Me 8/10 ... the only thing you've actually given a 9/10 to is Pixeljunk Monsters HD. A game which, while fun, is something I've played on the PS3 and PSP quite a long time ago.
While Killzone's failure to get a 9 is only because its failure to do anything to carve its own identity? Do any shooters do that nowadays? The monetary incentives sound like XP rewards in an RPG. That sounds rather ingenious and unlike other shooters when you discuss an attempt at an identity niche. The fact that this tiny handheld is running something like this should be rewarded on it's own merits and the sum of its parts, not some lofty goals of identity. I believe that, due to the sum of its parts and the overall lack of anything so polished and console-like on the Vita, a 9/10 would have been satisfying to readers. Just my opinion, and I realise that all these reviews are just opinions ... but Killzone Mercenaries is good enough to get a higher score on the vita. Maybe not if it was on PS3.. but on a Vita, when weighed against the small library showing what this machine can do..... K:M stands out as both a technical achievement as well as a few -and far FAR between - milestone in the promised "portable console experience" the Vita was promised to have.
