Re: Returnal Crashes May Be Sony's Problem, Other Bugs Being Investigated

@Floki Hey I saw your message and thought i would reach out as I had the same issues. Do you know what error code you are getting in these games and whether it's worse with ray-tracing on? I got lots of ce-108255-1 errors with my first ps5 for ps5 games. If it is, there is a thread in the forums I've posted a fair bit on with info.

@BUDSclass201 has it sold millions?? Psvr sold around the 5 million mark with a huge install base and other sets doing nowhere near those numbers (by all accounts, other manufacturers don't release sales data and I'm guessing if they were big numbers, they would). Don't get me wrong, the tech behind the occulus 2 looks awesome! It just strikes me as a niche product that is hamstrung by having mandatory account links to that goon. Why does one that doesn't have to have Facebook account cost more money?! Madness

Japanese companies tend to value their independence highly and I can't see anyone buying them, even if they have the cash. Having said that, out of the people who could buy them, I'd rather microsoft than amazon or tenscent. Tenscent makes the most sense given their huge mobile gaming footprint, imaging that ff7 br mobile game takes off in China, print your own money! Or a gatcha version of final fantasy a la genshin impact?! We probably need to face facts that sony doesn't have the capital required for takeovers of this size.

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Losing Ground to Xbox?

@Alpha_Pulse sorry but given how much money sony/microsoft/nintendo make when they sell a huge game, I don't see why the price increase for sony is warranted. To equate this price rise as being essential to leverage improved technology is not accurate and that is one of the most often used excuses for this price rise. People may be willing to pay more for certain games but equally many people are willing to pay scalpers prices for new hardware. However, the universal price rise for first party content changes the whole feel around news about how new games are being received.

@Daveuppercut your not wrong, let's see the metrics for returnal and ratchet and Clank though before we comment on the impact. If plenty people are willing to pay, then it's just an echo chamber of enthusiasts who have an issue with this. If not, then they have misjudged this.

You still can't buy a ps5 and have to struggle in the middle of a global pandemic to give a company £450! Having said that, I have a series x through all access and a ps5. Gamepass is good value and Sony charging £70, when games in UK have recently been £50 , is not. End of. Apologists for the pricing strategy can do one, Sony are a company, not your sports team. I'm hoping gamepass value forces Sony to compete and offer something competitive to consumers, even if it does not have day one release of new top tier games.

Shame, I have vague memories of playing a bit of one ps1 and disliking the controls and movement. I've downloaded it but hearing that those frustrations are still there makes me want to uninstall it. @quintumply some other discussion about the game said the checkpointing for saves are pants also, did you find this?

Re: PS Now's New Games Are PS4 Only, No PS5 Upgrade Path

Sony messaging is a mess at the moment. Why would you not include your new console in your subscription service?! Why put ps3versions of games you could ps4 ones on, like last of us? The first 18 months of a new console sets up the rest of the generation. There are hardly any ps5s in the wild, how much extra would this cost them to include?

Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4

The only way out of this mess is to make it a plus game within 4 months and even then, you've burned your early adopters. The value proposition of gamepass is staggering. I get you dont own the games, but now given how many games are unplayable without patches, transient nature of digital store fronts and many games requiring server connections, what does it even mean to own a game anymore? £70 quid for an aa studio rogue-like in returnal couldn't look more like a fubar decision if sony tried.

Demon souls, enjoying trying out a magic build. Started playing hitman and am replaying the Paris level with the mission stories. I'm really enjoying it so far. Finally my 3 Yr old nephew is over, so we are going to play switch for the first time. He's already mario obsessed without ever playing a game, don't know what he's going to be like after mario kart!! 🙈

Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?

The only games I have ever played multiple times to through are streets of rage, golden axe and the last of us. I'm holding out for a ps5 upgrade for a second last of us 2 playthrough. I couldn't bear to sell rd2 when I finished it but equally, now I can't imagine replying it. When the gta v and mass effect remasters drop, I could see myself playing them.

Finished up the dlc for spiderman remastered last night, really enjoyed it but I'm ready for a break before I try miles morales. Played 15-30 mins of demon souls on ps5. Ooft this game is a looker!! Also got some new headphones for my birthday, I had sony gold cans before but the new jbl quantum 800s i have sound real good with the ps5 3d audio. Last but not least, played some animal crossing with my daughter to buy mario stuff. Can't wait to try the warp pipe tomorrow

The exclusive stuff was a given, I'm more interested in how they reorganise ip work. Imagine ID working on halo, or the fallout franchise goes to obsidian (or at least having their narrative input)? It's whether ms just let bethesda be bethesda or how in time, they assume more control of their output
