I've been playing like a dragon: ishin and loving the super serious historical story mixed with crazy substories. Also some hitman:world of assassination, I never played hitman 3 so am going to play that over the next few weeks and hopefully check out the new rogue lite mode when I'm finished. Have a good one folks!

Re: MultiVersus Daily Peak Player Count Down 99% Since Launch

Have we reached peak live service? Rumbleverse and knockout city were not bad games but didn't make it. This looks destined to be shut down. Everyone wants to make a Destiny or Fortnite but perhaps there is only so much market space for those. Interesting to see how it affects Sony strategy, which is to release a good few of these over the next few years.

Re: Skull and Bones Delayed Yet Again as Ubisoft Cancels Three Games

All the reviews for sparks of hope were pretty positive, surprised it performed poorly. AC games should completely be my jam, love historical settings and action 3rd person rpgs. They are so soulless though and broken. After 20 hrs of odyssey, I had completely had my fill yet 100s of hours of witcher 3 and elden ring I couldn't get enough. I hope mirage is different, tightly written with immersive stealth in a historical setting but I can't see it. Next to be embraced at this stage, their output would fit with the rest of that B game portfolio.

Very early in god of war ragnarok but really enjoying what I've played so far. I liked the first game but I feel like I'm a bit more into this one already. Also playing some more echoes of the expansion for outer wilds. I loved the base game so much but while I'm enjoying the dlc, I feel like some of the puzzles are way more obtuse than the base game and I can see me having to check out some guides. Have a good one folks

Re: Game of the Year: #2 - Elden Ring

Haven't played ragnarok yet, I got it for Christmas though so can't wait to try it out if it really is that good. Elden ring didn't just feel like game of the year after my 110 hrs in the lands between, it felt like the best game in years!

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Horizon Forbidden West

Massive improvements to human combat and is a technical marvel in how it looks. Alloys running inner monologue is annoying, the writing is so flat with every character being pretty 1 dimensional, the grind for loot gets tedious and importantly the main quest narrative was nowhere near as engaging as the first game. Glad people liked it. After I beat the last boss, i uninstalled it and had posted it off for a trade in never to be thought of again. Here's to horizon 3 coming out, so I can play whatever genre defining open world game launches in the same window!

Forbidden west has amazing graphical fidelity and the environments are amazingly detailed. However, in those detailed environments, it can be quite tricky to parse points you need to interact with. I spent a fair chunk of time with R3 clicked in or looking for yellow climb me paint on walls.

Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Tunic

One of the best indie games in ages, the look the soundtrack, the exploration, the secrets, all incredible. The combat, gets a bit in the way sometimes, it can be pretty tricky and the game asks a lot of the player, more than I could give it. I mean there's a whole language to decode!! Amazing achievement for such a small team (really one guy for a lot of it). Shout out to the manual pages, they look truly amazing.

I've got the worst hangover but trying to ease some of it with some games and crimbo movies with the family. Tried some high on life earlier and while some of the humour hasn't hit, some has. It looks pretty incredible though, I'm surprised at the quality of the graphic. Hoping to play a bit more stray later too and though the world is interesting and the cat is cute, it has never really grabbed me. I've traded in a few games and have 50 quid in CEX vouchers and am trying to decide between sekiro (love souls games but have always been unsure as this game seems harder than any other souls game) and xenoblade chronicles 3 (last jrpg I played was nier automata) as I've heard nothing but good things about the story.

Re: Preview: Forspoken PS5 Feels Like a More Magical inFAMOUS

I didn't vibe with the combat much, it felt like I just spammed through a lot of the enemies with the red magic. I did the 5 objectives and the hard enemy at the end, which lacked any threat and involved me mashing r2 with the odd circle dash. Hard to judge any of the dialogue out of context but expecting this to be a bit of a clunker and overshadowed by the dead space remake. Kudos to square for putting out a demo though

Re: All The Game Awards 2022 Winners

I'm half way through stray l, maybe it has an amazing second half but as it stands, to put it ahead of immortality, tunic or neon white is madness. Thought these awards were voted for by games media outlets.

Re: Microsoft Invites Sony to Sign Its Own 10-Year Call of Duty Deal

Have you played a switch game recently? No way this is some 100 gb, full fat native port to nintendo systems. COD mobile maybe. I'm not a regulator but if you let Disney buy FOX and glaxco buy pfizer, your not going to block this deal because COD is on a subscription on one storefront but available to buy on multiple others

Re: Rumour: Is Horizon Forbidden West DLC on the Verge of Announcement?

R1spam

@jrt87 have to agree a lot with that whilst simultaneously agreeing with a fair chunk of @themightyant at the same time. I think that's because whilst the sequel has mechanically improved, the narrative structure and design of the sequel is poorer. It feels like they have tried to mash mass effect 2 structure into a far cry open world with some of the most earnest yet dull dialogue in any game. I frequently found myself not caring about the politics and dynamics of the post apocalyptic forbidden west society but loving the combat loop and the mechanics of the game. The main story just didn't grab me the same way as the first game and it feels like Sony are expecting this franchise to do more heavy lifting than it can handle with it being part of the PSVR2 launch and a rumoured live service game. I think they should focus on finishing the trilogy on a high and moving on to pastures new to be honest.

I've been playing some pentiment and some stray. I've been enjoying both and think I'm close to wrapping both up but not sure what I'm going to dip into next. I've downloaded FF7 intergrade, ghost of tsushima directors cut to check out the dlc and need for speed unbound to check out the 10 hr trial on EA. Don't know what I'll check out next though. Have a good weekend folks

Playing some more of forbidden west and while the story hasn't grabbed me as much as the first, I'm still loving the gameplay loop. Played the Stanley parable ultra deluxe last night, might be funniest game I've ever played, going to dig into the new content today. I'm also trying very hard not to be jealous of the folks with God of War and wait for Christmas. Have a good one folks
