Re: Accidentally Received a Free PS Vita? Don't Smile Yet

Squiggle55

If i received one of these packages by mistake, I would do my research to see if I had any legal responsibility to return it. If I was in the clear, there is no way I would respond to their threats. I would be far more likely to respond to apologetic letters and an offer of a compromise such as an additional free game or something. They got some dummies working for them.

Re: PS4's UK Digital Prices Will Stretch Your Wallet Pretty Wide

Squiggle55

@heyzeus002 You are absolutely correct. They are charging what they think the customer is willing to pay. And you know what? They're right. Anyone that is buying full retail games digitally is not a wise consumer in the first place, so they probably won't even notice the price hike. The consumer that buys their retail games digitally is like the "whales" that mobile games count on. You might as well milk them for all that they're worth. I'm sure they'll make plenty of money doing this.

Re: PS4's UK Digital Prices Will Stretch Your Wallet Pretty Wide

Squiggle55

I don't know why anyone would choose digital over retail anyway. Even if the prices are the same you are being ripped off. But to charge extra for digital makes zero sense. It's mind boggling. If these companies want a digital future (believe me it's in their interest) then the digital prices should be MUCH lower than retail. Do not support this. Buy physical.

Re: Review: Killzone: Shadow Fall (PlayStation 4)

Squiggle55

I bought Killzone 3 Multiplayer separately on PSN and it was one of my favorite games on PS3 hands down. I couldn't care less about the single player (don't even own it) and think of the multiplayer as the whole game. It seems like Killzone is always dragged down for single player issues and I wish it could get some stand alone scores for the multiplayer because it's some of the best I've ever played and I'd pay full price for it alone.

Re: Feature: What Does the PS4's Launch Lineup Look Like?

Squiggle55

I think Knack is my most anticipated. I'm an old school cartoony platformer fan at heart. I hope the story and cut scenes really stand out. All in all I think the launch is amazing. It has your next gen racing and sports for the people who like that. It has your bigtime shooter and family friendly game. And maybe best of all 2 great look indies being given away for free. Not to mention the free upgrades to flower and sound shapes.

Re: Yes, You Can Still Sell and Share Your Games on PS4

Squiggle55

Quite frankly I'm more concerned about remote play. Blizzard recently announced that they are "considering" remote play for Diablo III on PS4. That's a lot different than being required. What's the deal?

I know they announced today that they will support remote play after all. But there seems to be a real disconnect between Sony and Devs since they said "we're considering it". Shouldn't devs know that they are required to implement it if that's the case?

Re: Want to Listen to Music on PS4? You're Going to Need Music Unlimited

Squiggle55

I have Music Unlimited and I don't use my PS3 for MP3s, but I still plainly see how this is anti-consumer. I think they will update it with a patch but it is frustrating that they intentionally left it out to see if people would be mad about being funneled towards Music Unlimited. The PS4 would be significantly less of an entertainment machine if you can't put your music and video files onto it to enjoy on your TV. Of course Sony wants us to listen to music using only Music Unlimited, and to buy and rent all of our movies from Video Unlimited. But shame on them for trying to pull a fast one on their customers.

Re: Talking Point: How Much Do Format Face-Offs Really Matter?

Squiggle55

I prefer Sony and Nintendo to Microsoft for many reasons other than technical power. And while I was playing third party games on PS3 I never once lamented the fact that the graphics might have been better on Xbox360. It literally never once crossed my mind. So I clearly don't buy my system based purely on where the power is at. That being said, as a Sony fan, it is simply an added bonus that makes me very satisfied that my console will have the best graphics.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update v1.50 Prepares You for the Next Generation

Squiggle55

I'm left wondering if there will be a direct connection remote play option or if wifi is the only choice this time. Direct connection seems to always work better than wifi right now.

I'm also disappointed that in the playstation blog post they said "We anticipate that most PS4 titles will be playable on the PS Vita system through Remote Play." I'd rather they would say "we know for a FACT that every single PS4 game WILL be remote playable unless it makes use of the Playstation Eye Camera, because we MANDATED it."

Re: Review: Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness (PlayStation 3)

Squiggle55

@Gemuarto Thanks for the info. I actually like the story so I'm not sure if I'll be tempted to keep playing if the story ends and all that's left to do is get stronger. I assume that after I beat the story in Absence of Detention it will point me in the right direction of more things to do?

Re: Review: Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness (PlayStation 3)

Squiggle55

I'm still working on the Vita title. I think I'm almost done. are there alternate endings or anything making replay worth while? I keep hearing the level cap is 9999 and you can do multiple cycles and reincarnate your characters but I'd like to know why you would want to.

Re: Soapbox: Stop Sobbing Over Retail Releases and Embrace PS4's Smaller Titles

Squiggle55

I completely 100% agree with @get2sammyb. "On the flipside, a lot of the blockbusters that are being released today – no matter how commercially spectacular and technologically advanced – feel like they’re being designed by committee, and are conceived to appeal to the lowest denominator."

I couldn't agree with that quote more. Enough said. There are exceptions of course, just as there are also indie games that are no good. But there isn't an ounce of my being that is even slightly interested in WatchDogs, and the indie games that rise above the rest and arrive on PS4 with the backing of Sony will no doubt be the highlight of the entire generation for me.

Re: Feature: Five PS3 Exclusives Likely to be Ported to PS4

Squiggle55

I would buy Puppeteer on PS4 for sure. To me that's a game that should have been a PS4 launch title without a doubt. Games like GTA, The Last of Us, Beyond... all of those are obviously going to sell well regardless of it being towards the end of the PS3's life cycle. Games like Puppeteer and something like Knack need the added boost of a new console launch and featured billing and not a lot of competition.

Re: Talking Point: How Much Game Does a Video Game Need?

Squiggle55

I am a big proponent of storytelling in games. I would be perfectly happy to play a visual novel game with absolutely no "gameplay" required. Throw in a little bit of decision making and exploring to get the conversations going and you've got yourself a game. Sometimes if the story is good enough I find myself wishing for less gameplay. Like 999 and Virtue's Last Reward. Just gotta finish this puzzle so I can get back to the good part.

Re: Pre-Ordered a PS4? Here Are Your Bundle Options in the UK

Squiggle55

Still can't believe there's no word of something like this in the US. I guess in the end it's their loss because if there is no bundle I will likely go home with just the system and an extra controller. No game or camera. If they offered me that Killzone bundle I'd pony up the extra cash for the game and they would have succeeded in getting me to go home with that camera I have zero intention of buying otherwise.

Re: North American Consumers Pick PS4 As Their Christmas Console

Squiggle55

Sony is hitting all the right buttons. They have remote play, they have the indies, they're cheaper and more powerful. Playstation TV is going to give us tv channels on our PS4. They're giving us a virtual reality headset. I can't think of anything else I could want. If Sony gets Disney on board with Playstation TV in order to include ESPN, then I will be completely out of needs.

Re: North American Consumers Pick PS4 As Their Christmas Console

Squiggle55

@rjejr I don't think I'm ready to write-off the Wii U. I'm even tempted to invest in Nintendo a little bit at the moment. At the very least I'm very interested to see how Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, and Wii Fit U change Nintendo's fortunes. And then of course Smash Bros. will really shake things up. And then, let's say the Wii U is still lagging way behind all the way through 2014. Can you imagine how many people are going to buy the thing just so they can play the next gen Zelda?
