Their Aniplex stuff like Your Lie in April, Blue Exorcist and Black Butler are really good but they're also the reason we have the Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 anime
It's also kind of wild they have control over pretty much two of the biggest anime streaming services present these days
@JoshuaTChandler Nah. Ultimate Alliance had a roster like 3x the size and actually delved way deeper into Marvel's mythos instead of trying to act like a desperate advertisment for who was relevant in the movies
This game WISHES it was Ultimate Alliance. It's more like if the Marvel roster from MvC Infinite got their own game
@naruball Damn you are like super hellbent on getting the other 98% of people who abandoned the game on Steam to come back lol
It's literally just a stripped down Ultimate Alliance with all the crappy monetary practices of live service games and a campaign that wastes its opportunity to use the wider Marvel Universe in its story outside Inhumans I don't care about, and an emphasis on generic A.I.M. robots instead of actual Marvel villains who show up for a single mission and then disappear with no fanfare like Taskmaster and Abomination
Even if it isn't Silent Hill-related the genre's been on the decline in terms of AAA efforts and I personally didn't love The Medium from what I played
Ghost of Tsushima should've gotten a lot more recognition than TLOU II imo but I'm glad Hades is still proving to be a tour de force since the game is great
Apparently ports of games released in 2020 also factored into the publisher ranking and general critical reception throughout the year so Persona 4 Golden coming to PC and the Bayonetta/Vanquish collection being released on PS4 probably helped a lot in their favor
@Gamer83 Difference is Sony actually created Gran Turismo
It uses licensed cars but it's not based on a pre-existing IP or a collaborative effort with a third party like MLB blatantly is. It's not like it's a F1 racer that's only on a single console for whatever reason despite the universal iconography of the brand. You could argue even Spider-Man is in the same boat MLB is in that involves an incredibly popular character and brand but at least they were transparent in the fact that Sony came up with the idea first of doing a game with Insomniac based on a pre-existing IP and then they went to Marvel for consultation
Again. It's literally just an MLB game that happens to be developed by a Sony first party dev. You won't die knowing it'll be coming to an Xbox console. MLB is not on the same level of pure Sony-association like God of War or even Hot Shots Golf lmao
I certainly don't think of MLB The Show first when I think of PlayStation
This isn't like God of War coming to Switch or Horizon coming to Xbox. It isn't even an IP Sony actually owns
IT'S BASEBALL
This is like the last kind of game I'd expect to cause actual damage to Sony's brand. This is like if they announced Fitness Boxing was coming to PS4. Like who would actually lose their crap if more people got to play a sports game. By that logic we should start making real life sports exclusive to specific demographics. Like Hockey is my favorite Canada first party game
Sony's library of games both first and third party goes back so many decades and is filled with so many big names that are either lost to the sands of time or are no longer playable past 2 or 3 generations of hardware
Considering how seriously Sony used to take backwards compatibility on both their home consoles and even their handhelds (especially the PS Vita), the PS5 has so much potential to be this big central hub for PlayStation's entire history. If they put out their own version of a Virtual Console or even just bring back the Classics Line, expand on the PS2 titles available and add PS3 games while they're at it, they could probably have a very enticing answer to how insane Microsoft's equivalent program is right now.
Basically, I don't want to have to keep my PS3 around or resort to an emulator for stuff like Metal Gear Solid 4 or the first two LittleBigPlanets. PS4 games being playable at all on PS5 was a big step in the right direction and they might as well go all the way
@Areus Honestly PS Now I still find a mediocre substitute to just re-releasing the games digitally like they did with PS1 and PS2 Classics, especially with the fact the games rotate after a period of time
It kind of feels redundant on PS4 especially since a bulk of the titles are just games that are on PS4 and in some cases, PS3 games that are also available on PS4. The only platforms I found actually benefitted from the service were Vita and PC personally
Now that the only modern PS systems capable of natively emulating most of these games are pretty much losing that feature reportedly, the PS5 basically has no excuse
I don't want to hear anything about the PS3's architecture being too unique to run these games on native hardware because I can emulate Persona 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4 perfectly well on PC and it sure as hell doesn't have a Cell Processor. A PlayStation Virtual Console of sorts or the revival of the Classics Line (especially for PS2 games) has been long overdue
@Rob_230 Honestly if they're that desperate I'm genuinely surprised the Vita store lasted as long as it did
I was honestly expecting them to take it down in the lead up to the PS5's launch when they already revamped the PS Store to just accomodate for PS4 and PS5 games
The Store closing down like almost 10 years after the console launched is both upsetting but also kind of surprising considering how quickly Sony wanted to phase the console out
I first thought it would stay Switch exclusive for good considering worldwide the game was being published by Nintendo themselves but if it's coming to Xbox One then obviously a PS4 or PS5 version has to be in the cards somewhere down the road, and it'll be good for getting the game out to more people since Octopath is legit one of the best Square games I've played in a while
I personally haven't bought the PC version because I just prefer playing a game like that on my Switch in bed. It's why I basically triple dipped when the PS1/PS2 Final Fantasy games came to Switch as well. Switch is a great console for JRPGs since its portable nature makes grinding a way more comfortable experience imo
@LochNass Activision's games were fine for the most part
Loved Ultimate Spider-Man and Web of Shadows, thought Shattered Dimensions was solid and visually unique, Edge of Time was pretty underrated imo, but the Amazing Spider-Man movie games were really mediocre
@willi3su I definitely wouldn't call the story inconsequential by any stretch of the imagination considering it sprungboard off of very consequential events from other Star Wars lore from the films. It's more standalone but it has characters that are literally the way they are because of consequences from their actions
If you haven't already definitely play this one at some point
Easily the best of the EA-era Star Wars titles and probably among my top 3 favorite Star Wars games in general. Its influences are definitely obvious if you've played Metroidvanias before or you're used to Sekiro or Nioh's style of combat, but the story it tells is honestly well above most recent Star Wars media that's come out recently in terms of quality and emotional resonance
It actually got me excited to talk about Star Wars again after the divisive reception to the Disney era stuff and the state of the fandom just kind of soured everything for me
@darkswabber On GhostWire, that exclusivity deal is also being honored. It will launch only on PS5 and PC for a timed period just like Deathloop
I feel like Indiana Jones is too early in development that any decisions on target platforms were made at that point. I don't think we'll be hearing about that game for like another year
Put aside your feelings on recent entries or whether you even cared about them at all but PlayStation potentially being barred for good on getting stuff like Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 5 and the next DOOM & Wolfenstein games is a massive blow to the console's library
Highlights for me include the rock remixes of Blooming Villain & Keeper of Lust, Axe to Grind, the new Tokyo Daylight theme and the Revelations Persona Normal Battle theme remix
@Col_McCafferty I only got a PS5 myself because I got lucky through staying up until 12 in the morning for a Walmart drop and it hasn't even arrived yet
I already have a PC and don't feel like sharing. You'll have to pay ME to share my games with you lol
@Col_McCafferty I'm sure you're doing great things for society with such a bold statement. Phil Spencer must be crying under the bed he made out of all the money he got from Game Pass subscriptions
@QueenOfHearts38 It's all PR speak to begin with. Both Phil Spencer and Jim Ryan have said a lot of exaggerated or overambitious stuff about their prospects
You also don't buy a company for more than Disney bought Marvel and Lucasfilm and then share with other people either
@TrueAssassin86x No. Microsoft have said already that they're honoring any timed exclusivity deals on existing games, which means Deathloop and GhostWire are still going to be temporarily console exclusive to PS5 when they release and won't drop on anything PC related outside Steam and EGS
@QueenOfHearts38 Implying corporations ever cared about your feelings
If Sony can moneyhat like 15 different third party titles for timed exclusivity of varying lengths to their shiny new console it's fair that Microsoft gets to play dirty too. I'm all for it
Sony tried to slug Microsoft in the testicles with stuff like FFXVI, Deathloop, FFVII Remake, and GhostWire? Microsoft is coming for that ass
You get all the Xbox games and the best versions of multiplats in addition to Sony now supporting the platform with updated versions of their first party and second party lineup
I honestly thought they'd at least wrap up the currently multiplatform series first like Wolfenstein and the new DOOM games on those respective platforms, but guess that won't be the case after all
DOOM 3, only on Xbox and PC...again
The Elder Scrolls VI, only on Xbox and PC for the first time in like 19 years lol
Xbox and PC don't have Spider-Man, but they're sure as hell getting Indiana Jones
@The_Pixel_King I've been on a Final Fantasy binge myself since Sephiroth got announced for Smash
Helps that pretty much all the PS1/2 era FF games are on Switch now as well. I'm currently playing FFIX. I haven't sold my PS4 yet but likely will once the new kid comes in
Virtually every week now there are drops and now they're starting to last a little over half an hour. Hell I'm about to get my console in like a few days after some delayed shipping which was annoying
@itsfoz If the PS4 generation is any indication these remasters and enhanced ports aren't going anywhere. They'll simply cooexist with new games if anything.
Plus there are literally two native PS5 games right around the corner so it's not like these are stalling development of new games. Overwatch 2 is still a thing

Re: DOOM 3 VR Edition Brings a New Perspective to the FPS Classic Today
It'd be funny if when you boot this game up the Xbox Game Studios logo appears lol
Re: Sony Locks the Door on Legacy Web-Based PS Store

The bigger revelation here is that Sony actually remembered the Vita was a console they made

I still can't believe there were people on Twitter upset that a baseball game was going multiplatform

Re: PS4 Masterpiece Bloodborne Turns Six Years Old Today
The reason I got a PS4 in the first place
I was tempted to hold onto my PS3 for Persona 5 but Bloodborne looked too good to pass up and it ended up being my favorite Souls game in general.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

Hence I have created a religion around the hit RPG Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor for the Nintendo DS and 3DS family of systems
