@mariomaster96 The staggered content release is interesting but I think the patch is a good thing, since a lot of people were concerned about the image quality in performance mode
@Darude84 Obviously I don't know how much time you have for gaming but you might be happy to hear it's not a particularly long game. If you're hunting trophies it might get a little grindy but otherwise even doing all the side missions it's not anything crazy.
@ShogunRok I haven't played MK1 but from what I've seen (especially the way people talk about it online) it seems like the game was a bit rushed maybe.
@Bionic-Spencer That's not even all the games that came out in the meantime (Granblue and Undernight have their enjoyers even if I'm not one of them). I didn't vibe with SF6 myself but I pulled the trigger on Tekken and I'm glad I did. It's an excellent package and a different enough game that I can play it and my favorite 2D fighter at the same time without thinking one is better or worse than the other.
Fun fact: this game's dev team includes a couple of Digital Foundry members, with John Linneman acting as level designer. I'm not sure any of them have any prior experience. It's also the lead programmers first game.
@LifeGirl Just to clarify (and I'm not saying you suggested it but it might be read that way), that doesn't mean there are 68 mln active PS4's. Many consoles have more that one user.
@Godot25 I don't think that's true They said their server capacity limit was reached at 360k, while its peak on PC was about 155k, which would make it 200+ on PS5.
Also, while this kind of game directly benefits from larger player count, for other games (single player ones) it might not be optimal business-wise. Releasing a game on PC simultaneously with the console version will definitely lead to larger sales on PC but Sony's revenue from a PC sale is lower and it doesn't incentivise console sales (which lead to even more software revenue). Obviously I'm just speculating why Sony might not want to do this.
@Tomato_Goose I voted for GoW and didn't vote for Halo. Tbf though, I could see the argument that Halo is the kind of game that's kind of missing on PS, while GoW is pretty close to the typical PS Studios output.
GoW is the closest thing Xbox Studios have made to what PlayStation is known for - I only played the first one (as it released on PC when I still used that for gaming) but it was everything I like in a action-adventure game.
Not interested in most Xbox exclusives but there's a few I would definitely buy (just not enough to consider getting a console for them). As long as this still allows them to be serious competition to Sony, it's a win for me.
@Mintie @Professor_Niggle Yeah. I haven't played the latest CoD but as far as I'm concerned, the series' highlights have always been the multiplayer and the campaign that felt like a super tight action movie. This sounds like a bad idea.
Obviously this would've been in advanced stages of development before they had a chance to see people's reactions but it doesn't sound like they think it's a mistake.
I should play Grim Fandango one of these days (technically I did but never finished it). Love the other games even if Full Throttle is a bit on the short and simple side for the genre.
@Matroska Apparently Relink had a bigger launch on Steam than Infinite Wealth and the Persona 3 remake (judging by concurrent player numbers) - although I'd expect the majority of players to be in the Asian markets where the mobile game is extremely popular.
I voted 9 but honestly I'd give it a 10 if they added just a few QoA features... that honestly probably don't matter to most players. Namely, for those running streams for online tournaments, inviting people your player match session can become a chore sometimes. It's also a little early to speak of balance (but there aren't any clear big problems). Otherwise, nothing is missing here.
@DennisReynolds not exactly, because IGN were told they wouldn't be getting a code at all (they're still reviewing it but had to buy the game, deluxe edtion for early access too)
@Sil_Am and tbh - while I personally still like my single player games physical, I always get my fighting games digital, so I can alternate between both those things without juggling discs (I'll be playing this for literal years). I don't really know if others are like this though.
"Nearly two thirds on PS5" means it actually sold a lot of physical copies on Xbox, which is the slightly surprising thing here (not that I expected it to do bad on Xbox - just that Xbox users barely buy physical these days)
I don't actually have any proof of this but I think people are more likely to go digital for these smaller games like PoP. I know I'm like this. Obviously that doesn't necessarily mean it would be on top if digital was included.
I enjoyed the alpha, especially the story bits. I'm not fully sold on the open world yet but overall getting to play it made me much more interested than I was before.
This is a game I'd expect to appear on most players' lists even if often below either BG3 or AW2 (which, while both great, are not for everyone), so the outcome makes sense to me.

Re: Xbox Games Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded All Confirmed for PS5, PS4
Definitely getting HiFi Rush. I'd like to see them put Ori on PS as well.
Re: Surprise! Indie Platformer Penny's Big Breakaway Available Now on PS5
Insta-wishlisted. I'd just get it if I wasn't already playing 342625 games and looking to add a few more in the coming weeks.

Re: PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade Will Feature a Trio of Graphics Options
Hoping balanced mode is 40fps for 120hz screens, like most new PS Studios games do. This has been my go-to mode ever since it started being a thing.

Typical 20 minute word salad to announce Diablo going to Game Pass

@sword_9mm Yes!
Re: Preview: Helldivers 2 Utterly Revels in Its Chaotic Bug Battles
@NinjaNicky Good thing everyone has a mic on PS5 (in the controller). Obviously that guarantees nothing but there's a chance it makes it better.

Launching a battle pass before the character even gets a proper trailer - SF6 is truly something

This looks excellent and it's soon. Can't wait!
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for February 2024 Announced
Definitely checking out Rollerdrome... when I find the time

If it goes back to what 3 & 4 were - hell yea.

@DennisReynolds not exactly, because IGN were told they wouldn't be getting a code at all (they're still reviewing it but had to buy the game, deluxe edtion for early access too)

More free tracks are always welcome - too bad it's in the genre I don't enjoy as much as most others in the game

I went with PoP first but definitely replaying this at some point.

@MinerWilly If you added it to your library from the PS Collection, it will not be removed from it

@Camlambelot I'll check it out this weekend
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown?
I'll most likely pick this up tonight. The Last Of Us replay can wait.
Re: PS Plus Extra Loses Another 10 PS4 Games Next Month
Play Thomas Was Alone. It's not long and it's great.
Re: The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered (PS5) - A Near Perfect Package for New and Returning Fans
How's the 3D audio in this one? It was exceptional in the Uncharted collection for PS5.
Regardless, I'm definitely upgrading for €10.
Re: Foamstars Releases 6th February as a PS Plus Essential Game
I just noticed that while it was announced for PS and PC, the trailer says it's exclusive to PlayStation for 6 months

That's nice - the previews were actually quite enthusiastic about it

I got points for my PS+ renewal, which happened a bit over a week ago... which I honestly didn't even realize I was owed but that's cool
Re: Granblue Fantasy: Relink Demo Out Today on PS5, PS4
I'll check it out but (assuming I like it) I'll probably wait until after FF7 to buy it. Got enough games to play before then.
Re: Get Lost in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's Dark World on PS5, PS4
Looks great. I'll check out the demo first but I expect to be way into this.
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2023
@Llamageddon It means it's been on more players' lists but in lower positions (so fewer points per vote)
Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Marvel's Spider-Man 2
This is a game I'd expect to appear on most players' lists even if often below either BG3 or AW2 (which, while both great, are not for everyone), so the outcome makes sense to me.
