Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?

Yousef-

My choices were a really tough between (and I know this will sound like a joke) Braid and WWE 2k24. I went with the letter due to:

  • Familiarity with the series and medium it adapts
  • Rule of thumb to prioritize new releases over remasters/rereleases for utmost fairness
  • General good ol’ subjective preference; self explanatory

Detailed Explanation:

  • Point 1: Braid
I’ve played the original on Xbox 360 way back when, so I cannot judge the remaster itself. But I was not particularly dissatisfied with the original so I could just replay that if the urge itches
  • Point 2: Cody Rhodes
My man Cody worked his butt out for that title. This is almost entirely a respect vote just for him. Nightmares do come true! You go get ‘em, American Nightmare!
  • Point 3: Misc. Stuff
All in all, 2K been firing on all cylinders ever since 2k23. While I can’t accurately predict that that quality would be maintained forever, even if 2k25 turns out to be the last good one they would at least round it up with nice solid trilogy. Hope Bron Breakker state that one.

Fair list. Despite having a soft spot for 1 and 3, I acknowledge that the best game spot is a tough call between 2 and 4. 2 takes the cake for me anytime though.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Camo and Healing Systems Revealed

Yousef-

RE remakes and the like have conditioned to expect remakes to have completely different gameplay styles that it’s honestly both refreshing and very pleasing to see this stick to the original as much as it can.

Holy crap this looks stunning. I'm actually impressed. Some very Kojima like details in here

that actually reminded that this is technically the first mainline game (even if it’s a remake) without Kojima himself. I’m actually really curious how this will turn out.
