@Highlar The difference is Sony and Nintendo actually finance and develop their own IPs, they don't go out and buy a publisher and call it the same, not when most of those 3rd party IPs performed better on PS on the fact that it had a way bigger install base.

Both Starfield and Redfall started out with PS5 versions in mind until Xbox decided to end them, a fact confirmed by the main devs (Todd Howard, Harvey Smith) of each game.

Day-one releases are too good to be true. I mean that for us as customers they are great but are completely unsustainable for dev. I'd rather BUY the game and let the money, their cut, go to the developers directly rather than let MS just hand them out peanuts to cover the lost sales cannibalized by GamePass.

Tbh I wouldn't care. The reveal killed all the game's hype for me.

Its just another SMT with some high fantasy Persona sprinkled on top. From the concept art I was expecting something a little more traditional but it just looked too much like that pop idol RPG for the Wii & Switch.

In the meantime I'll keep dreaming about that FFIX Remake.

PS. I expected better animation and overall look, it just looks so much like every SMT game they've released over the last 5 years. I think the reason I feel "let down" (personal feelings, Atlus doesn't owe me *****) is because I was really expecting to go crazy over this game like when the finally revealed Persona 5 and it felt like such a gigantic step forward for the series.

Man, that classic lineup is sure taking its time to get to the hits, huh?

No Armored Core or King's Field to ride the fromsoft hypetrain? No golden age Square or Enix RPGs. Capcom!

The classic lineup has the potential to be so much much better than it is right now.

Maybe more single-A and double-A games to cover the drought seasons, like the psx-ps2 years.

Triple-AAA and AAAA games are awesome but 5-year dev cycles are not sustainable if they take up the entire generation to make.

Capcom disappointed me because I really was excited for them to show something hype for their 40th anniv. Maybe for the TGAs come December?

On the other hand I thought Ubi's showcase was ok because I didn't expect much from them: not a star wars fan, not an Avatars fan (but it did pick my interest more), Prince of Persia, as good as it looked, just felt like a step back for the series.

Game to game, Capcom wins hands down. Dragon's Dogma 2 would have been a showstopper if it hadn't been revealed at Sony's showcase.

Knowing Atlus they are going to milk the sh*t out of the remake, expect a royal-like re-release aprox. two years after the vanilla version.

Personally, I'd like P6 to become more adult-oriented, or outright make another subseries we're you play grown ups, Catherine shows the team can pull it off.

As I grow older it gets weirder, to say the least, to play a horny teenager that obviously has no boundaries. (or morality? Man, some of the "relationships" get weird, specially with the adult characters, and always end up feeling like you're taking advantage of this people at a vulnerable moment of their lives. That poor teacher's arc from P5 made me feel like sh*t at the end.)

It's pretty much a given that Capcom is working on a sequel to MH: World, and probably have been for a while, with the 20th anniversary of the series coming up next year.

As frustrating as it was 1st party-wise (cg teasers of live service games, really?) the Dragon's Dogma 2 reveal saved the day all on it's own for me. Alan Wake 2 was great as well (Max Payne? Is that you?!).

I thought Marathon was sp before checking the website for a massive dissapointment, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt because, a) it's bungie, and b) the set up sound like a pvp extration system shock (infiltrate a ghost space ship, rogue AI, mutations (?), runners).

Haven seems to be ANOTHER extraction shooter but it has a "heist" gimmick apparently. Not what I expected from Haven after all the hype around the studio about their "innovation and creativity". But Jade Raymond has proven more than capable so this is another wait and see.

I got nothing from Concord's teaser. Just that it's a space pvp shooter by Firewalk, run by a former Bungie boss. So, Destiny + No Man's Land? That's not a bad elevator pitch now that I think about it but, as with most of these teasers, I need more information and actual footage.

Spiderman 2 looks ridiculously impressive even if its more a "maybe" than a "day one" for me.

FFXVI looked equally unbelievable but please, Square, we don't need to see ALL the game before we can actually play it.

I did not care for Immortals of Aveum before but the trailer made me very curious. Noy a "day one" but I'll have to keep my eye on it.

Sony really needs to step it up for the next showcase because this was a tad dissapointing tbh.

And a special mention goes out to Square and their dreadful-looking Splatoon ripoff. How is this the same company that gave us Xenogears and Vagrant Story?
