Re: Death Stranding 2 Brings Hideo Kojima and His Celebrity Friends Together

ANOTHER entry in the crowded strand genre? X.....D

Will Hideo, again, forget to add the 'fun' to this one? Hope not.
Will Hideo, again, have 'questionable' (cringe) female characters? Probably.

Tbh there's far better developers in Japan that deserve at least have the budget this over-rated autueur got for his last few games.

Good so far, kinda lost some steam past couple of episodes, but you'll have to agree some "creative decisions" are just easy representation points, picking the low hanging fruit... its actually making the show kinda predictable, like I just just knew they race-swapped Maria before Tommy even revealed her identity. Like ok, Sarah is mixed now, all of the sudden, now Maria is bonafide Jada with a full set of hair for no reason.

It feels like they are just crossing off some kind of representation checklist.

Still, good show, but little details like these are distracting in the sense that you can't help but feel that they are unauthentic and just pandering to the crowd. Wouldn't expect any less from Neil Druckman tbh lol.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at The Game Awards 2022?

Here goes my pesonal round up:

Death Stranding 2: Meh tbh. More curious if Kojima will change the playstyle. Keep the walking-sim extravaganza or lean more towards horror as he´s been recently implying? falling back to classic MGS gameplay? Only certainty is it will have cringe-worthy questionable moments that his fans will defend as "misunderstood", "quirkyness" or "social commentary".

Horizon FW Burning Shores: Would have loved to see gameplay. No opinion really, still haven't played Forbidden West but I had a lot of fun with Zero Dawn and its DLC and this is basically more of the same.

Judas: This one was a big surprise. I was just thinking the other day 'what ever happened to Ken Levine´s narrative legos concept?'
Looks very Bioshock-y but I'm more interested to know about the mechanics. Maybe something in the vein of Arkane's Prey: Mooncrash and Deathloop?
Very much looking forward to this one.

Armored Core VI: Game of the show right here.
New Armored Core by a Post-Souls From Software? SIGN ME UP.

Remnant II + Lords of the Fallen: Both of these looked pretty good and the original games had potential so I'm keeping my eye on these two.

Company of Heroes 3: This was a nice one because I very much wanted to play it but my potato laptop would have exploded if I tried to install it.

Space Marine 2: Not really a WH40K fan and didn't play the original game, but it looked like some nice visceral fun.

Hades 2: This one was a big surprise. Supergiant Games first sequel to their latest (and best). Very very looking forward to this one. (Ok, now: when the sequel to Transistor?!)

Final Fantasy XVI: It's looking insanely good. Not crazy about the j-pop/anime looks that plague every jrpg but the combat and enemy/creature design look superb.

Diablo IV: I should be more excited about this one. Going to need to hype myself up on youtube I guess.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor: Not a Star Wars fan, won't get it. Now that we got that out of the way, it looked pretty good so for any fans this looks like a day one.

Suicide Squad: Another meh. You've done it, entertainment industry, you've milked Harley Quinn dry. Move along now.

Street Fighter VI + Tekken 8: As a superficial fighting fan both of these look like good fun.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty: Still a question mark for me. Will they add more RPG gameplay and fidelity to the open world or is it still more pretty-looking window dressing? The casting of Idris Elba makes me wary CDPR is leaning towards the latter.

Crash Team Rumble: Why not Crash Team Racing 2?

Hellboy Web of Wyrd: Big fan of the mignolaverse so I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.

Atomic Heart: Looks like one of those quiet games that comes out of nowhere to become a sleeper hit.

Banishers: Need to see more to form an opinion. Looks interesting.

Re: Microsoft Admits Its Games Are Worse Than Sony's

Underdogs? MS has had an unlimited budget to build up their first-party development and publishing arms and failed to do for almost 20 years.

The problem with MS has always been that they just buy studios and/or IP but don't nurture their growth. It's the reason franchises like Halo and Gears of War are shadows of their former selves.
