Re: Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores (PS5) - Aloy's New Chapter Is Essential for Fans

belmont

I enjoy it very much so far!!

That being said I would prefer it if the whole HFW was PS5 exclusive. That said, since the base game had a PS4 version and we only have one piece of DLC it kind of stinks for PS4 players to not be able to play it. And we all know that the complete game will be Steam Deck verified in a couple of months.

That said I have not beaten the DLC yet. I hope it recrifies the dump and anticlimactic ending of the base game.

Re: It's Never Been Cheaper to Seriously Expand Your PS5's Storage Space

belmont

I would love to upgrade but to be honest everything below 4tb seems very low and those ssd drives are still expensive. I use an external 4tb hdd to back up PS5 games and store PS4 ones but of course the stupid PS5 os doesn't update the games for some reason. I would love to buy the internal 4tb ssd and move the extrnal hdd permanently to my PS4 though.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Wouldn't Be Possible Without PS5

belmont

I am a huge Final Fantasy but come on... This game will be playable in PCs next year and it will also be Steam Deck verified. Also, they kind of said that they tried to make FF16 run on PS4...

Moreover, Sony ports first party games to PCs with mechanical drives and gaming performance slightly better than PS4 or verifies them for the Steam Deck...

Re: You May Be Able to Take The Last of Us on a Roadtrip Soon

belmont

I love my Steam Deck. It is my favourite platform. Even with its flows I enjoyed my PS Vita and the Steam Deck is as better as a successor as it gets. It is not underpowered like the Switch and it has first party Sony games and it is the best platform for indie games and jrpg games, just like the Vita. Also, again like the Vita, it is very easy to set up emulators, you can use it as a PC etc.

Re: Capcom Fans Split Over What Classic Game Should Be Remade Next

belmont

I see a lot of love for Resident Evil Code Veronica. I am not a huge fan of it. However, a remake has to be a lot different. This game has Steve, one of the worst characters in RE history. He acts like an idiot, even for videogame logic standards, and there is a gross scene when he tries to kiss Claire or something while she is asleep in the plane. Also, the whole Alfred concept was bizarre even back in the day. I don't even know what to say about it. From a gameplay perspective there are ways to soft lock you out of the game and loosing access to weapons in the final portion of the game.

I enjoy RE4 Remake in my PS4 and I would love to see a Remake of both Dino Crisis and RE Code Veronica, but I would prefer a next gen only RE9 new game.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS4 Is Why Cross-Gen Needs to End

belmont

@ShogunRok To be honest this article is misleading and not correct to be honest. I have played both PS4 and PS5 versions and the PS4 port is decent for what it is. It suffers from the same problems that more third party cross gen titles suffer but unstable framerate and poor load times were present in a plethora of PS4 third party titles during the generation. And it plays better than other cross gen titles like Callisto Protocol or Stranger of Paradise.

This is no exception but the RE Engine scales well. RE Village also plays very well on PS4. Moreover, all cross gen Sony titles (GT7, HFW and GoWR) play quite well in the PS4.

I would much prefer if RE4 Remake was a PS5 only title but it is not a title that is held back from PS4.

Re: Sonic Origins Plus Catching Heat for Using Zoomed-In Game Gear Versions

belmont

Sonic 2 first boss and some leaps of faith in later levels are present in the Game Gear version but I don't care that much to be honest. I really love that some of my favourite games are released again. It would be great if they expanded Sonic Origins more by adding the Master System ports, the Mega Drive versions of Spinball and 3D and the Knucles game for 32X though.

Re: A Bunch of EA Classics Are Getting Delisted from PS Store

belmont

Nintendo closes their store and nobody cares yet the internet exploded when Sony said they would close their PS3/P/Vita stores... I was one that felt annoyed and bought some psn cards to buy the ps1 classics I hadn't...

In any case I don't know those EA games and have backed up my 3DS and Wii U.

Re: 17 More PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available Now on PS5, PS4

belmont

@Quintumply Thanks for clearing this up. Yes, seems like Sony has no problem letting you buy its classic games while also offering them for free if you have the PS3/P/Vita versions while Namco does not for some reason.

Too bad no other publishers seem interested in PS1 classics. The only game from other publisher I recall is Resident Evil, that you can also buy separately from the subscription.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Trails to Azure?

belmont

@Lebest Still I don't like the Crossbell arc but I don't want to spoil why. Generally speaking the same things keep happening to this city over and over again to the point when the writes seem that they don't know what to do and repeat the same things. There are more stuff but we will get to major spoilers.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Trails to Azure?

belmont

The poll does not have the option "I have played the fan translation ages ago"😉

In any case I am a huge trails fan but I consider all this Crossbell arc non sense for a lack of better term, even from the video game logic point of view

Re: PS Plus Premium Subs Treated to a Trio of Retro Treats Next Week

belmont

The thing I want to know is if you can buy the games separately and if they are free if you have the previous versions.

As for the actual classic games in general I wanted more. Seems like, with the exception of Resident Evil, all other PS1 and PSP games are from Sony or Namco. They should expand the catalogue a bit more.

Re: Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharoah Uncovers Adventure of Epic Proportions on PS5, PS4

belmont

@Robocod I have some of the Inforgames games from back then. All of their comic book games were fan. They made two Tintin games. The first, Tintin in Tibet, was released in Mega Drive, Game Gear, SNES and Game Boy and was also ported to the Game Boy Color. The second, based on the comics you mentioned, was called Tintin Prisoners of the Sun and was released in SNES, Game Boy and Game Boy Color. I love those games, I really like the comic book panes and challenging gameplay.

Also no Haddock or Tournesol in Cigars of the Pharoah, they were introduced way later.

This begs the question why the chose Cigars of the Pharoah. To be honest I am a huge Tintin fan and this comic was one of the worst, even though it does some interesting world building. This, and its sequel, The Blue Lotus tackle some more serious themes like drug smuggling, mental health, war etc. Also, they have been criticized for stereotypical portraits of non European characters.

Re: The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails Is a Falcom Action RPG to Watch in Fall 2023

belmont

@The_Pixel_King Those are old titles that are now getting localized while their newer ones were developed when nobody could buy a PS5 since there was almost no supply in Japan. The studio making the game is relatively small.

As far as the games it is the only Kiseki game I have not played or know anything about and look forward to it. There is a brief spoiler in the trailer for players familiar with Cold Steel or it is just me being paranoid?

Re: Trails into Reverie's Truly Gigantic Cast Teased in New Character Trailer

belmont

@thefourfoldroot1 If you are not a PC gamer and you don't know Japanese you cannot play the Sky trilogy. You can track the retail version of Sky 1 on PSP but it is not worth it. If you know Japanese you can track the games from the Sky trilogy that were ported in other PlayStation platforms. In any case I suggest go to this channel and watch the extended synopsis
https://youtube.com/@ladyvirgiliatrails

As for the Crossbell arc I am not a huge fan of the over cliché and repeated stuff there but some familiarity is required to understand Cold Steel. Either play them and abuse the fast forward button or watch the synopsis on the above channel.

As for Reverie you must play it after Steel 4 and not wait. Regardless on if you like what they did with the plot Reverie is placed directly after Steel 4 and some mentions of the Kuro games are Easter eggs at best.

Re: Trails into Reverie's Truly Gigantic Cast Teased in New Character Trailer

belmont

@thefourfoldroot1 I will talk about only localized games.

Basically, Trails of the Sky is the first trilogy, or Liber arc. The games are on Steam. The first two were on PSP. The first also had a limited physical release. I think they have been delisted.
I recommend the Steam versions, since they have a fast forward button.

The next two games are Zero and Azure, or Crossbell arc, taking place sometime later. The first one is on Steam and PS4 and the second one will also be available in a couple of days in both platforms. Again, the Steam version has fast forward.

Then we have the Empire arc with Cold Stell 1 to 4. 1 and 2 are on PS3 and Vita and all 4 are on Steam and PS4. I recommend the latter versions due to fast forward. Cold Steel 1 takes places the same time as Azure.

The upcoming Trails into Reverie takes place some time later and serves as some sort or nonsense sequel or bizarre continuation and will be released in Steam and PS4.

There are two more games unlocalized for PS4 that are sequels to Reverie called Kuro no Kiseki 1 and 2 and take place sometime later with mostly new cast.

@Lorcan To be honest many say you can skip the Crossbell games but I think Cold Steel 3 makes no sense if you don't know those people and their motivations, even if I think that what happens in Crossbell makes no sense even for Videogame logic standards.

Re: Trails into Reverie's Truly Gigantic Cast Teased in New Character Trailer

belmont

This trailer has a bizarre lip sync issue or it is just me?

Poor Crossbell it is the 5 time or something that it is occupied like there is no police or military or something. It is like all those countries have no structure and wait for Rean to leave the harem and go save them.

In any case I played the fan translation some months ago and I recommend this game for Trails fans but I guess you would get it anyway. I will get a physical copy down the line. I tried to preorder from the European Nisa store and it charges custom fees for some reason.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About Final Fantasy 16?

belmont

I am a huge fan of the series!!
The poll misses the option "I won't see anything I will just buy the game when I can afford it or have time to sink to it".
I have not watched any trailer or any impressions video. I may only play the demo myself.
I did the same with 13 and 15 and from the 7 remake I saw only the generic trailer where Cloud and Barret fight the first boss

Re: Rumour: Iconic PS1 RPG The Legend of Dragoon Adding Trophies on PS Plus Premium

belmont

@Balosi Both Tekken 2 and Ridge Racer 2 were available in EU. I don't have my Vita with me but I have them installed in it.

If we speculate correct though all this means is that The Legend of Dragoon will only be available as a part of the final tier of Plus and not standalone since it was never released in EU in the PS3 era... Too bad if this is indeed the case.

In any case enjoy Resident Evil! I love this game. In fact, I am off for a Chris playthrough.

Re: Rumour: Iconic PS1 RPG The Legend of Dragoon Adding Trophies on PS Plus Premium

belmont

We don't know if I can just buy the game? I am not that interested in this confusing subscription model and I only pay the basic tier for cloud saves.

So far, to my knowledge, Tekken 2 is the only classic game you cannot just buy, although I am not sure of Ridge Racer 2.

Anyway I really like that Sony mostly offers tou to just buy the game. Also, the game is free if you have a previous iteration of it! I would love if they added trophies for all classic games. I recently started going for retro achievements and they really give new interest to some old classics.
