@ShaneReactions That's fair feedback, I agree! Leave it with me, may be more difficult to do for PS Plus Extra as that usually includes more games, but could be done here.
This is more of a live service game really. I think they support it with more than enough free updates to make it fine. The Moonstone stuff is largely optional after all.
And the expansions are basically big DLC packs, so I think it's fine they charge for them.
@nessisonett They actually reshot and reframed a lot of the cutscenes, and re-recorded over 10 hours of motion capture. So they're not as awkwardly framed anymore.
I always laugh when commenters say "They could have just made Ape Escape or Gravity Rush" instead. But in this particular instance, both of those franchises would have made more money than the -$200 million here.
@RoomWithaMoose I don't think you can compare it to Fortnite.
Like, I get what you're saying — and it's hard to know one way or the other without having data to prove/disprove it — but I imagine they're somewhat realistic with their ambitions.
I think Helldivers 2 will absolutely be doing what they expect from live service, which is to keep players engaged over a long period of time. It doesn't have to be doing Fortnite money necessarily, it just needs to be a steady recurring income stream.
Is this the greatest flop in gaming ever? Like even stuff such as Suicide Squad still sold a few million copies. Obviously not good enough considering the investment, but better than this.
@OldGamer999 Well I don't think the machine has changed necessarily, the problem is it used to take two or three years to make a big game, and now it takes five to six years. So the output is much less.
@WiiWareWave But you're implying CI Games hasn't taken full advantage of the base PS5 hardware in order to help sell the PS5 Pro which only benefits Sony.
That doesn't really make sense.
Ultimately, I imagine CI Games did the best they could with base PS5 (which is where the majority of people will play their game). Now they have the ability to push the game a bit harder on PS5 Pro, which they're doing for the small number of customers buying the new console.
@Shinnok789 I think developers will always offer that option. There's nothing wrong with making it available, it just seems to me the bulk of the work should be focused on getting Performance really good, as that's what the majority of players prefer.
@Cal_ We're reviewing Call of Duty, we didn't get access to the game until it launched on Friday and still need to spend more time properly trying all of the modes.
It'll be out soon, but please give us a little more time!

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
@MindfulGamer Awesome, it's such a great game. I hope you enjoy it!
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
@JalapenoSpiceLife You won't unlock any Trophies you've already unlocked when you import your save.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
@Andy22385 Didn't mark down the score for that at all, no. Just listed it as a negative.
I'll say what I said earlier in the thread, those who don't want Trophies to transfer can simply not import their save.
Re: PS5 Pro Not Compatible with PS5 Slim Face Plates, Sony to Release New Covers for More Powerful Console
@carlos82 You're absolutely right, I misread that. Updated to clarify that and include a statement from Sony shared with IGN.
Re: PS5 Pro Is Not Compatible with PS5 Slim Face Plates
@Magatsuhi Well PS5 Pro is bigger, but the difference initially seemed like it was just the mid-riff section that was adding height.
As these comparison pictures show, the sizes are VERY close.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2024 Announced
@ShaneReactions Yep, I've added in trailers for all three games now! Thanks for the suggestion!
Might be nice to get some screenshots added too, but will look at how we can present that nicely for next time.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2024 Announced
Excellent month. Death Note game I'm not sure about, but happy to try it on PS Plus.
Almost bought Ghostwire many times over. And Hot Wheels is good arcade racing fun.
Fantastic stuff!
Re: Video: Horizon Zero Dawn's PS5 Remaster Is a Massive Upgrade
@GreatAuk They said they looked at the original concept art and tried to make it match more closely to that.
Re: Animal Crossing Rival Disney Dreamlight Valley Is Adding So Much Content on PS5, PS4
@Anke Agreed! I feel the same with a lot of these games sometimes. Feels like such a minor thing to include.
Re: Animal Crossing Rival Disney Dreamlight Valley Is Adding So Much Content on PS5, PS4
There aren't enough hours in the day!
Re: Video: Horizon Zero Dawn's PS5 Remaster Is a Massive Upgrade
@Loamy Sarcasm now detected
Re: Video: Horizon Zero Dawn's PS5 Remaster Is a Massive Upgrade
@Loamy Need to get your eyes tested, then, I'm afraid.

Re: Concord Cost Sony Over $200 Million, And Didn't Make a Single Cent
@Frmknst It did though.
Re: Concord Cost Sony Over $200 Million, And Didn't Make a Single Cent
@PuppetMaster Nah, they spent $30 million on Spider-Man 2's marketing and that was a much more aggressive campaign than this game ever got.
Re: Concord Cost Sony Over $200 Million, And Didn't Make a Single Cent
@Hogs-of-War-General I kinda wished I would have nabbed a sealed physical copy now. I bet they're going to become collector's items.

@Americansamurai1 Maybe they sign more and try this whole thing again?
Re: PS5, PC Flop Concord Never Returning, Studio Closed Down
One of the most insane stories in gaming ever.
Re: Indiana Jones PS5 Dev Going Very Well, No Comment on PS5 Pro Just Yet
@LordVile Hah! Thanks for the correction, fixed that!
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds' Beta Is Prompting Fans to Reconsider PS5 Pro
@OldGamer999 Yeah, ironically Sony's games are the worst showcase for PS5 Pro because they already look so clean!
Re: Go Go Pre-Order the Sublime Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind for PS5, PS4 Now
Day one!
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds' Beta Is Prompting Fans to Reconsider PS5 Pro
This game looks really, really bad. I hope it's just because it's a beta.
Re: Indiana Jones PS5 Dev Going Very Well, No Comment on PS5 Pro Just Yet
Will be the case for all third-party games moving forwards really, including Microsoft's own ones.
Re: Soulslike Lords of the Fallen Resurrects with 40% Higher Pixel Density on PS5 Pro

@WiiWareWave I genuinely don't think CI Games has anything to gain from the scenario you describe.

Re: Soulslike Lords of the Fallen Resurrects with 40% Higher Pixel Density on PS5 Pro
@atthegates To be fair, the PS5 Pro is more powerful than the standard PS5, that's the whole reason it exists.
So developers can do more with it, which is why you're seeing these improvements.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
@BAMozzy Time will tell. If there's more money to be made in microtransactions, why not just make it free to play on all platforms?
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
@Kalime78 I mean, it's just there for additional context.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
@PsBoxSwitchOwner In what world is 88% low? Again, it's only physical, but that's an enormous proportion of the sales.
Also, worth remembering that a proportion of the PS5s sold ALSO don't have a disc drive.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
@SheerDisappointment Yeah, agreed. My expectation is it won't really make a dramatic difference, and that certainly seems true with this data so far.
But obviously it's such a small picture we won't know for sure for quite a while.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Call of Duty Remains Steady on PS5, PS4 Despite Black Ops 6's Xbox Game Pass Inclusion
This is a good result for Sony considering they also lost the marketing deal, too.
88% share is extraordinarily high, even if physical is such a small portion of the UK market these days.
Re: Fortnite Will Unify Progression Across All PS5, PS4 Experiences
@rjejr Get better soon!
Re: Fortnite Will Unify Progression Across All PS5, PS4 Experiences
@rjejr I think you'll still get stars, it's just the XP will earn stars for all the passes now.
Re: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure (PS5) - Hallmark Series Loses Its Charm
Thanks for the review, Aaron. I'm a big Life Is Strange fan so a bit disappointed with the score. Will still check it out, though.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner We are, but still working on it. We didn't get access until Friday, when the game launched.
Re: Your Chance to Play the Cosiest PS5 Game Ever Is Close
@Oram77 Not excited for this one?
Re: TV Show Review: Like a Dragon: Yakuza - Generic Japanese Crime Caper Doesn't Do SEGA Franchise Justice
@rjejr Yeah, so you can watch three episodes now. The other three episodes will be available next Thursday. That's what I mean by "second half".
Re: Gotta Sell Fast! Sonic X Shadow Generations Has Already Surpassed 1 Million Copies Sold
It's weird how SEGA keeps announcing these milestones so early. Presumably again this is a combination of digital sales and shipped physical copies.
Re: Gigantic Zenless Zone Zero PS5 Update Brings More Wallet-Busting Waifus, Tons of Events
@themightyant Wait until you're playing Genshin and Star Rail as well. It's insane...
Re: Microsoft CEO Says More Xbox Games Will Come to PS5, Hours After Rumours Said Porting Project Was Paused
@ThomasHL I suppose you're right. Definitely see your point!
Re: Microsoft CEO Says More Xbox Games Will Come to PS5, Hours After Rumours Said Porting Project Was Paused
@LowDefAl @ThomasHL If they genuinely don't know what they're doing, like you imply, that's staggering for a company as large as Microsoft.
Personally I think they're just trying to have their cake and eat it.
