Idk man, that's 14 SP games and 9 MP games. Seems like an even split. I think folks give too much thought into this and should just relax .

@ROTTIEMAN16, I am not a huge fan either of multiplayer games , but since exactly when did Sony themselves say they would stop making single player stuff? These live service titles have oft been described as additive in nature to the single player games everyone likes.
Also did anyone forget PS also dabbled in MP during the PS3 gen as well, to varying levels of success. Did people complain about that as well as they do now? I am just curious.

@KundaliniRising333 Sorry but what disservice have they been doing? Factions has gained an extremely cult following over the years and there's clearly much hype for it. Horizon Online too has been a much requested feature. Also since when did ND and Guerilla state they would stop making single player stuff altogether? They have got additional teams for that.

Sure, the " we believe in generations " part was a bit misleading, but PS seems to be the only platform holder coomited to actually releasing next gen games. 7 of the 12 games released so far since the PS5 gen started can only be played on PS5.

Single player games have and always will be popular, but idk why so many people are so hostile towards playstation making any sort of multiplayer experiences. Lots of fans have been asing them for years now so clearly there seems to be demand for it.

Also don't understand the constant concerns surrounding single player games when sony themselves said they would keep making such games for the forseeable future.
Just seems like fake outrage from an extremely vocal minority whenever articles of this sort come up.

@nessisonett Lol still in disbelief are you? I will wait till the showcase is announced and a bunch of stuff is announced, many including single player games.

There was no showcase last year because the majority of first party dev's were not ready to show anything.

@nessisonett That will become more clear in the inevitable showcase that will probably take place around late May/Early June.

@nessisonett 25+ games are in development,12 are live service and the remaining 13-14 games are traditional single player games . So much for not investing in single player games. I wish some people did some basic research instead of just assuming nonsensical stuff.

@Snake_V5 Publisher acquisitions are off the cards until the ABK deal closes. Would seem counter to everything Sony has said regarding blocking the deal.
If Square is on the table it will be quite some time before we hear anything related to it.

Can't wait for someone to comment on how this acquisition justifies the ABK buyout 😂.
Surely now Deviation Games is next on the list.

On a side note, hope Sony acquires some proper single player developers after this, enough of live service and mobile devs acquired over the past year imo .

@PsBoxSwitchOwner Exactly , suits are suits whether or not one plays games is completely irrelevant. There seem to be an alarmingly high number of gamers who pretty much worship these people.

@KaijuKaiser , Ryan has been conviniently painted as a scapegoat by moth media and gamers alike for faults of previous management ( Eg: Japan Studio decline). Now granted there have been some questionable decisions during his tenure( Console price increase, unnecesaary 10$ price upgrades) but the vast majority of it has been successful. PS5 so far has had much better games than the PS4 and PS3 had during it's initial two years and tbh, that's all that matters.

Oh, and also some weirdos love to simp after corpo execs who play games because they seem to think it's "cool". It's why the likes of Phil Spencer have such a cult like following.

But I thought the current management would destroy the Playstation brand as predicted by some zealots on here, what happened?? /s

Good to see PS5 stocks finally stabilizing. Now all one needs is that showcase.

@KundaliniRising333 Lol wut? The expansion was announced in December with an April release. Promotions for Burning Shores started around mid- march with regular info drops since the last 3 weeks. Some folks on this site even questioned whether there was too much info being given out given it's just a DLC.

I'd much rather studios do their own thing rather than listen to the gaming public, some of whom never seem to be satisfied with anything .

The logic at which certain games are selected for PS Plus Premium is so bizzare. The original 3 Doom games are ports of the originals that were made available on PS4, XONE and Switch in 2019. Dishonored : Definitive Edition is another PS4 Remaster.

Guess Classic games fans will just have to wait until next month.

@PhantomMenace84 Ha you got me there 😂, Yep I do think that Premium has improved lately as they are regularly adding classic games each month, my only wish is that eventually PS3 games become available for download instead of streaming only

Another ps+ drop in which there is a mistake lol. Pretty sure the blog post refers to Ape Academy on PSP instead of Ape Escape 2 which is already on PS4 and PS5. ( As a PS2 Classic). They really should proff read these posts before sending them out .@get2sammyb @shogunrok

@Melee_Ace I am aware of that, and he also got the "Sony X Square acquisition" thing wrong, but he's got more rights than wrongs thus far.

Grubb is a reliable insider but lol.. This showcase rumour been's going around since September last year. I will believe it when I see it.

If this actually happens then it will be a new record, no console manufacturers has managed to sell more than 30 million units in a fiscal year, highest was Nintendo with the Switch which did around 28 mn in 2020.

With the way PS5 stocks are increasing week after week, I can certainly see this happening.

GT is great but I do wish Polyphony made an arcade racer, something like Driveclub/ Motorstorm. Sigh... I miss Evolution.

Ragnarok's 11 million in just under 3 months is insane numbers, even 3rd party games struggle to match these kind of figures, fantastic and well deserved to everyone at SMS.

Shows really how far Playstation Studios have come since the PS3 era.

@JP80, Majority of titles on PS4, PS5 and Switch run perfectly fine without needing a day 1 patch, only in some extreme cases ( think Cyberpunk, and some more recent releases like Callisto Protocol) which where quite bugged upon release.
Personally I don't mind purchasing digital stuff but if you want to ensure longevity of a particular game going physical is the only way to do it.

@Member_the_game I dont' think personally that PS Plus is a scam, just referring to the general nature of subscription services.
Also , with regards to how backwards compatibility is handled on Playstation platforms, maybe in the future ps4 compatibility won't be even guaranteed. So better to get all these must- play games via disc rather than rely on a subscription service was the point of my comment.

Also, didn't sony themselves say that PS Plus collection will still remain after the Plus revamp back in June? So why remove it now? Makes no sense tbh.

And this is why relying excessively on an all digital future is just a scam. Go the physical route and you can enjoy these titles for years to come , and all at your own leisure.

@Loamy , Nick Offerman was great and the casting was excellent, but Murray Bartlett as Frank stole the show for me. Sad to see how it ended for both of them but what was once a minor character only mentioned in a note in the game has a full blown character arc. Love how this show is expanding upon the lore and acts as a faithful companion piece to the game

Even though this episode deviated heavily from the game's source material, wow did it do justice for the characters of Bill and Frank. Easily the best episode so far and high chance of this winning a few Emmys.
Makes me excited for the expansion of the Ish storyline in the " Suburbs" section later on.

The marketing cycle has begun .. looks like some news ( new trailer) might just be around the corner.

@Atreus97, The PS4 has not even hit 10 million in Japan yet , With the way PS5's have been selling in Japan lately, it will eventually catch up to that figure, maybe even surpass the PS3, which too had only sold about 10 million.

Hilarious how some folks are saying Sony are forcing ND to churn out multiple games in some franchises when it's been clearly documented in the past that SIE never interfere in ND'S development. If that were really the case then part 2' s storyline would have followed the same structure of the first game instead of doing a " MGS2".
Also, interesting wording from Neil here, it's going to be almost 3 years since TLOU2, I personally think they have a new IP in the works which is great news

@Northern_munkey Elden Ring was pretty poor in terms of pure tech but the game was great. Forspoken is just another bog standard open world game with cringe dialogue, lazy sidequest design, and a lifeless open world. I'd say the criticism it is getting is justified.

Bizzare how Forspoken manages to look worse than FF15, a game released 7 years ago. Low quality textures, assets randomly thrown in, lighting looking ridiculously average, the game is just a technical mess. Even the Dualsense implementation is barebones. I honestly wonder what did Sony see in this game to have a 2 year console exclusivity period.

Decent launch lineup but surely this could have been revealed at a VR focussed state of play where these titles could have had more exposure instead of just doing random Blog posts . Weird marketing imo.

@jrt87 The hateboner that some of you clowns have for druckmann is insane. The guy is behind some of the best games in recent years , including TLOU2. While I do think Straley should be included in the credits somewhere, dogpiling on other creatives is not the solution.

Premium is decent but they do need to add more games each month, also where TF are PS2 games that were promised?
Let's hope that classics are added each month instead of a select month or two here and there.

People actually assuming that this game will be bad and trashing it already just because of a unverified rumour, and that too from a site like resetera.

@CapGod Xdev only collaborates with other third party studios that aren't owned by SIE themselves, so I don't think it is Firesprite.

Leaks say it is a European studio, I wonder if it could be Remedy that Xdev's collaborating with, there were some rumours a while back of a remedy- developed ps5 exclusive.

@get2sammyb afaik platforms for this new multiplayer game have not been announced at all, so why mention ps4 as well in your headline. A bit misleading no? The related article which you have linked for this piece of news also specifically mentions the ps5 version only.

Any year which has Spiderman 2 and Final Fantasy XVI will bound to prove to be amazing. Also highly willing to bet both factions 2 and Helldivers 2 will also release next year. But the best part is that cross gen will finally end.

@mollock Horizon is also the 7th/8th best selling game of the year in the US as well, where physical and digital sales are also included. Guess the game did end up selling pretty well after all.

"Elden Mid destroyed Horizon Forgotten West " community looking pretty stupid rn. Great news for Horizon though, the game deserves it's fair share of success.
