You'd imagine they'd looked at sales figures and are ok with selling less initially at a higher price, and then making those numbers up over time with deals and reductions several months on.
I still firmly believe it won't be successful though, certainly for titles like this.
I mentioned before on here but I gave away my PS5 pre-order because I was put off by the price of games like Demon's Souls and Sackboy, and I'm still holding to that. I won't be buying many games day one any more if the prices stay as they are.
@Boxmonkey I've had it before from Amazon with an SSD I bought. It wasn't super expensive, but inside was a box of crayons instead 😂 Some people are c&&&s.
Fortunately Amazon didn't ask many questions when I sent it back and they quickly refunded but it was still a pain.
This is always one of my concerns at times like this. We all know Amazon cheap out on delivery so I don't fully trust that the parcel is always in the hands of reputable people with stable jobs and it doesn't take a genius to work out what's in these boxes
I can only speak from my own perspective but I've already sold the PS5 I preordered and will wait until Demon's Souls and the like are a more reasonable price. I imagine I'm not the only one that's doing that
Disappointed in Man of Medan and what I've heard of Little Hope so far.
I feel like Supermassive need a big shake up and rethink of their direction from here. Until Dawn was great (and in development a long time) but since then it feels like they've rushed out way too many mediocre projects.
@Arnna not sure about that, and I say that as someone who generally doesn't care if a game is 30fps. There's a pretty noticeable difference between 30 and 60.
Whether a majority of people actually care about it is probably another question
I get it. The gaming industry is doing very well at the moment so from a business point of view of course they're gonna try to make even more money out of it.
I think they're wrong though and sales will noticeably drop this gen
Obviously the S isn't as powerful as the PS5 or the Series X (I'm not sure there's anyone that thinks it is?) so there will naturally be some limitations.
Apart from the initial mess of the PS5 splatter-gun info, I think it's been decent from both really (at least appears so in the UK)
I was able to get a PS5 and Series S through Amazon and looking now Game in the UK have all available, albeit the PS ones are limited to bundles but if anyone is that desperate to get one I don't think adding an extra controller or headset on should be a big issue.
Have they said whether we'll be able to store games on a regular hard drive and then just transfer over to the SSD when needed? Would save a lot of downloading and time?

Yeah no chance.

I really wanna play this 😂
Re: Sony Believes PS5 Game Pricing Is Fair, Denies It Considered Charging More
@LiterallyDoNotCare that's nonsense. AAA games have high development costs now because of the revenue they generate. It's not the other way around.
Re: Sony Believes PS5 Game Pricing Is Fair, Denies It Considered Charging More
We'll see.
I can only speak from my own perspective but I've already sold the PS5 I preordered and will wait until Demon's Souls and the like are a more reasonable price. I imagine I'm not the only one that's doing that

So fresh, so stable.

Boooooooooooooo
Re: PS5's Limited SSD Storage Space Cannot Be Upgraded at Launch
I don't think it's a big issue tbh. Not many people would've made use of this early on anyway
Re: Sony Adds Game Names to New PlayStation Store on Web Browser
It's a tiny, tiny start but still a huge way to go to make it competent.
Re: PS5 Games Won't Support PSVR, Says Sony
That's disappointing, and somewhat worrying for the future of PSVR too.

Never heard of this but that trailer looks a bit too much of a copy.
Still, SOTC is amazing so will see what this turns out like
Re: Demon's Souls Latest Trailer Shows Off Nearly Six Minutes of PS5 Gameplay
Very nice.
Seems to completely surpass the original in terms of immersion when exploring the worlds and fighting enemies.

Not a single Knack trophy there. What a fraud.

Haven't heard of it either but it's really cool to find out why there are some issues here.
Great work, Liam!

Re: UK Sales Charts: Physical Crash 4 Sales Down 80% on N. Sane Trilogy
It's one of my favourite series yet I haven't bought it either.
It looks like a lot of work has gone into this game, I just don't want to pay £50+ for it right now..

Pretty baffled by this poll. Obviously the new one looks much better =
Re: PS Plus October 2020 PS4 Games Announced
"Not a bad month" - I'd respectfully disagree again.
It's relative I guess, but as already mentioned you've got a 3/10 game and yet another one that's already on PS Now

Re: Tennis World Tour 2 - A Winner
Oooh sounds very promising from a gameplay perspective.
My complaint with tennis games has always been that it's far too easy to return and you rarely get outs or unforced errors.
I may well check this out!
Re: Shark Sim Maneater Is Swimming onto PS5, Free Upgrade for PS4 Players
@Brydontk do those people really care about ray-tracing though? I highly doubt it.
Unless we ever get a case of games that straight up aren't available (or perform poorly) on the Series S, I don't see the trouble.
Re: Rumour: Bloodborne Remaster Is Real, Coming to PS5 and PC
Whether it's real or a rumour, I'm in.
Re: Shark Sim Maneater Is Swimming onto PS5, Free Upgrade for PS4 Players
@lacerz think that's a bit of a stretch.
Obviously the S isn't as powerful as the PS5 or the Series X (I'm not sure there's anyone that thinks it is?) so there will naturally be some limitations.

Looks very promising.
I feel like a massive hypocrite as I've been asking for this kind of Crash game for 2 decades and yet I don't want to pay £55 for it lol
Re: New PS5 Photos Show a Big and Weird Looking Console
I'm actually going off it the more I see it lately. I kinda feel like it's gonna look really tacky and dated in a few years time

Please don't tell anyone.
Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous
Have they said whether we'll be able to store games on a regular hard drive and then just transfer over to the SSD when needed? Would save a lot of downloading and time?
Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous
Sounds about the same as this gen tbf. Demon's Souls isn't exactly a massive game.
Re: Soapbox: Screw Sony's PS5 Game Pricing, I'll Just Wait for Sales
Yep, fully agree. The video game industry is booming and a price rise is really not necessary as they'll have you believe.
I won't be buying Crash 4 for £55/£60 and I won't buy Demon's Souls at launch either.
