I'm gonna get the new AYN Odin 2 Portal soon and will be using that as my all in one handheld that can likely just do far more than Sony can put together at this time
It's a cool addition to the Portal that probably should've been there from the start.
I find it mad how slow the rollout for cloud streaming has been. This is something that was available 10 years ago on Vita!
There seems to be a change of approach with this every other year and we're still no wiser to what the end goal for this will be
And that applies across the industry too. Stadia worked well but was an absolute mess marketing wise. Likewise, Amazon Luna is almost completely unknown. Xbox seem the most vocal about their service but even then I'd have thought they'd give it more promotion by now
D*ck moves all round I think, and not surprising given the teams involved
Rockstar are obviously one of the greatest developers/publishers in history and I love many of their games as some of my favourites, but there's a lot to really hate the behind the scenes by many accounts
Definitely a weird time we're in now. This game came out 4 years ago, and yet we've already had 4 different "look how much better it is here" comparisons.
I get these games are huge budgets and it makes sense from a business point of view to milk over a longer period of time. But it's a bit nauseating to see the same handful of games over and over again
I'm in between wanting it later down the line and tbh likely will just give it a miss altogether. It'd be hard to justify the outlay even at a reasonable cost but £700 is just too much at this time
I'd also want a newer TV to take full advantage as well and then obviously you're talking about a couple grand at that point
There are just too many games and it's constantly adding to the pile
New games aren't only competing with new games, they're competing with the entire history of gaming!
It's a problem in almost every entertainment industry but with the bigger problem that games aren't as easy to just watch or listen to like a movie or music
This is just all inevitable and I'm not sure there a solution to be had
I'm still on chapter 3 of Wukong. This bloody Tiger yin is relentlessly kicking my ass. Every time I feel close to beating him, the next go ends with me getting brutalised after about 10 seconds 🙁
I know times change but it is frighteningly sad that kids into gaming are now growing up with this trash compared to the likes of Super Mario that we had. Worrying times
The original does have almost game-ruining audio issues where the dialogue sounds like it's been muffled through two cans on a piece of string. At least when playing on PS5
I liked Until Dawn and would be interested in this re-whatever at a reasonable price but it's just ridiculous the price and issues people are having with it
I'm sure they plan to drop the price in the coming months, but honestly even £30 seems too much for this for what it is
I really thought Astro would be unstoppable for me this year but Wukong is really creeping up there. It's not without flaws, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it right now
It really is quite baffling that Xbox have seemingly spent the best part of nearly a decade now trying to focus on getting their own library up to par, spent an absolute f-ton of money on some of the biggest publishers and IP you can think of.. and they still have hardly any titles I want to play. Quite incredible
@S1ayeR74 so what do you want then? What if this doesn't sell and it gives Sony the message that further advancements aren't necessary and the PS6 is scrapped all together
Presumably you bought a PS5 at a price that to others would also seem unreasonable. Why do you get to be the bearer of what's deemed an acceptable price point?
As mentioned, a lot of the "news" bits aren't relevant any more anyway. Sifu, a game I bought, tells me it's (or was) available on PS Plus... in April!
@zupertramp I suppose but I don't really see it that way. Sony have been setting PlayStation up as a premium, expensive console for a while now. Just look at how they're selling controllers for £200 and Until Dawn for 60. I think we may be past the precedent for that now

Possibly but I think probably not tbh

Re: MultiVersus Underperforms, Another $100 Million Blow for Warner Bros.
All these companies are so out of touch it's crazy
Games like this will cost peanuts to develop and with the in-house licences they already have should never be running at a loss
What a mess

"After much thought" but apparently zero thought over the past however many years

@Galv "essential" but it's 1200 games on sale 😂

Well it's about time!
I wonder how much use I'll actually get out of this, but it looks cool at least
Re: Until Dawn's Movie Lives to See Another Day on 25th April
I've heard that the movie only runs at 24 fps so I'll probably wait for the remaster of this a few years down the line

@Cal_ first time?
There were long waits between the initial announcements and the follow ups of GTA V and RDR2 as well from what I remember

Great game. Glad it's sold quite well

@Ooccoo_Jr I think it was already on PS+ before
Re: Until Dawn (PS5) - Killer Teen Slasher Snags a Pricey New-Gen Remake
Regardless of price, this is very disappointing. Considering the price, and lack of upgrade path, it's downright awful imho
Surely a "remake" of a 9 year old (still available) game should be improving in every way, not fumbling as this clearly seems to be. What a waste
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2024?
I think it's a good one. Doki Doki sounds.. interesting and Dead Space is great
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 549
Still loving Wukong. On Chapter 3 now and hoping to wrap that up this weekend
I've also redownloaded the original Until Dawn after seeing mixed and disappointing impressions from the remake
Re: Site News: Where's Our Until Dawn PS5 Review?
Everything I've read and seen about the remake seems disappointing but not that unexpected
I've just tried booting up the original though and the audio mix is horrific in itself
Re: Until Dawn PS5 Remake's New Ending Leaked, May Hint at Possible Sequel
I liked Until Dawn a fair bit as I do enjoy these kind of games but it really wasn't that great
Re: PlayStation Begins Pre-Orders for PS5's Chroma Collection, Horizon Remastered, More
@Grumblevolcano yeah that's a bit bizarre and quite a poor error to make (assuming it is an error of course)

It really is quite baffling that Xbox have seemingly spent the best part of nearly a decade now trying to focus on getting their own library up to par, spent an absolute f-ton of money on some of the biggest publishers and IP you can think of.. and they still have hardly any titles I want to play. Re: October 2024's PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games Are Available to Download Now
Been meaning to give Doki Doki a go for a while so this will be my chance. Doesn't look like my kind of game at all but I've heard great things

Re: Promising 3D Platformer The Smurfs: Dreams Gets Playable Demo on PS5, Available Now
Checking out the demo now. There's even a "wahooo" in the first minute of gameplay 😂😂
Re: PS5 Fans Want to Protest Against New User Interface Advertising
It looks terrible and obviously a slippery slope
As mentioned, a lot of the "news" bits aren't relevant any more anyway. Sifu, a game I bought, tells me it's (or was) available on PS Plus... in April!
Re: Promising 3D Platformer The Smurfs: Dreams Gets Playable Demo on PS5, Available Now
Nice one! This looks like a winner even if it is somewhat of a rip off

Re: Bickering Begins Over PS5 Pro's Inability to Sell Out
I struggle to see why anyone cares about this
If you want one, you can get one. Great. If you don't want one then it's just not for you. Move on.
The way PlayStation announced it suggested they don't particularly care how well it initially sells anyway tbh, which again is fine
Re: Prospective PS6 Purchasers Would Consider a Portable Model
And you can play the new demake Horizon Zero Dawn Unmastered on your PS6 Portable right now!
Re: As Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Turns 25, the Birdman All But Confirms There's More to Come
Microsoft buying all these beloved IP and doing naff all with them. Sounds about right

@Bentleyma 😂
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 548
Black Myth Wukong working my way through the rest of chapter 2 hopefully
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
I'm tempted but just can't justify it at the moment. Based on reviews and my circumstances, I may look to get one next year
