@Cikajovazmaj and a subset of the population will also determine that a product is never worth the price being asked for it. I have bought several Mario Karts over the years, I refuse to pay $60 or even $40 for Mario Kart on Switch.

I would also like to add I bought Deathloop on black friday for $20 and still haven't unwrapped it. XD

Thank you for this review. I think games like this are why I struggle with assigning point values to game reviews. For example, this week you gave Eiyuden Chronicles a 6, which I am loving for its similarly relaxing nature after 100 hours with Elden Ring, but this seemingly distraction of a game scores 33% higher at an 8. This isn't an attack on your system, just a random musing. I appreciate the content!

I'm about 6 hours in and it's good, simple fun. Day one purchase for me to support these devs breathing life back into the suiko-verse.

There is a correlation for sure between the number of people who, at this point, buy souls games and know they will complete them. Whereas I'm sure GOW has had at least 10x as many players, many of whom have no interest in difficult optional fights or collecting every tedious raven for a platinum trophy. In short, souls fans know what they're in for.

I definitely rushed this story knowing how easy the cleanup for the platinum would be post-game. Also kinda rushed so I didn't feel as bad starting Elden Ring!

@Richnj right, I think we all do at some point, play a character who doesn't look like us. The "step in the right direction" is providing those options. I have no problem "role playing" a character in a game, I've been playing RPGs for over 30 years. I appreciate your willingness to engage in a discussion about it, and hope you (and I) can continue to evaluate the lens in with which we view the world.

@Richnj thank you for your comment. Not needed but glad is a step in the right direction. I assume you are a white male like me. We have had no problem seeing people that look like us. On the flip side, I wouldn’t feel as “right” playing as a female character in a co-op game I would play with my boyfriend. So no, not needed, but glad.

Having the option to customize Aloy or any MC is also a step in the right direction. Aloy could have been a POC just as easily as she was white. Not a faux pas necessarily but somewhat groan-worthy that we have yet another white protagonist saving the world. I guess at least she’s a minority in the sense that she’s a clone. 😅

@Richnj sure. You picked a great example, because Aloy has been panned for years as a white savior to a group of mostly non-white people that are also referred to as savages in-game. This type of micro aggression in gaming is what we are trying to move away from.

@Richnj but representation is needed, in all forms. Race, sexuality, gender identity. Normalize seeing non-white cisgender people in gaming without it needing to even be a topic we're "debating."

I've had zero issues so far on a PS5, no need to wait to pick up this masterpiece. I will admit to a couple annoying platforming drop offs but when I slowed down I progressed just fine.

Persona 5 Strikers is such a phenomenal game, I loved getting the platinum and finishing the game on Merciless difficulty! RE8 and Returnal in 2022. Good list!

This coming month is great, stop crying. Same people will go spend $15 at McDonalds or $100 on a night out but cry poormouth over a game like Judgement that's been out forever and is probably $20 at this point.

@Porco budget, shorter games, less hype. Those games you listed are huge and would require a lot more effort. Refreshing some backgrounds, remastering music (if they even did this), and adding cleaner sprites is not a big undertaking. Also, SaGa Frontier 1 & 2 are great games with unique game play. I am looking forward to purchasing.

@hi_drnick it's just opportunity cost. This game isn't worth $45 to me, but I would've clicked right over to the store if it had said $25. I will wait until demand drops, and supply stays the same, and purchase it at the price I'm willing to pay. Kudos to the Crash team for all their hard work though!

@TheFrenchiestFry ahh, yikes! Thank you for the links! More often than not, ports are generally how you referenced them, locked into the fidelity of the original. That being said, I did adore this game and all 150ish hours I spent getting the platinum on it. Do we know if S will have a separate trophy list so I can justify buying this game again? (I do have a switch but I'm a dumb bitch who is addicted to trophy hunting.)
