1st ! love Ys...get that Souls like ish out of my action JRPGs with already awesome combat!
but I suppose either way, I'll play it. Adol in his younger years def makes it sound like it could take place between the previous Ys games...the timeline is cray cray.
oh isht! that's crazy! totes forgot. not that I would have time to play around with it cuz I barely have time for games, but looking forward to it either way. why not.
also super cool! I'd love to replay Persona 3. I didn't beat it back on the PS2 and would like to be able to finish it all the way through. P3FES was tough compared to P4G or P5.
while Atlus is at it, they need to show love to Persona 1 and 2. IF they can remake those games to at least look like Persona 3?!?! that'd be awesome.
I mean that is unfortunate in terms of the game's development cycle and seemingly the stop/start process of reveal, then trailers, info dump and the continued anticipation of the game releasing and then delay upon delay. -However, on a personal level, I have alot of games to play that have release dates or at least coming in 2022 that I'm fine just continuing to wait for this game to finally come out at some point in 2023. AND it'll give me more time to get back into the anime.
demo / beta - whatever you want to call it, I'm down. JoJo Eyes of Heaven was fun. I'm looking forward to this one as I didn't play it back in the PS3 days.
down the line, they should bring back the 2D fighting game (developed by Capcom!)
YES PLEASE. this is one of my most anticipated games! Can't wait to see how One Piece (x Dragon Quest) plays out. Either way, it's a day one buy for me. > We Are!
I'd rather have a showcase/presentation or whatever PR term you'd like to use that'll show games that are a year away instead of having an overproduced extravagant showcase and promise games that are 4+ years away, nowhere near done or simply just concept art thatll just be canceled a year later.
my predictions? >some exciting reveals from third-party partners, plus a sneak peek at several games in development for PSVR2<
keep it simple, keep it humble and don't expect anything crazy or anything super hype. just enjoy it for what it may be and if not all of the games revealed are for you, then that's ok - maybe next time.
at this point, I feel like many folks are just anticipating the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus. I'm down to try the Nick Smash Clone but other than that, I'm good. I did already play God of War like alot of us have and I'm not interested in Naruto. I do appreciate the anime representation but just not Naruto and that game in particular.
it's almost like PS management listens to Colin on Sacred Symbols because he mentioned how a lexicon of gaming terms would be a good idea (since there's so many nowadays and the list of terms only continues to grow).
sidenote: it'd be super fun if any of the Push Square staff gets interviewed by Colin. since he cites your site as a resource every pod.
@thefourfoldroot wow thanks for the thorough feedback. maybe when I feel the itch to play another Yakuza type game, I'll do FotNS first to get it out of the backlog, then purchase Judgement afterwards.
how is Fist of the North Star? that and Yakuza 6 were on the backlog and decided to just finish Yakuza 6 so I can close on Kiryu's journey. Is FotNS super wacky and fun? lol Tales of Arise is great. Combat is super smooth and story is pretty good. Ran a bit long in my opinion but fun overall. >ENJOY!
FINALLY finished Yakuza 6 - thank you for the memories Kiryu-san (since the PS2 days).
- I am going through my backlog and I'm torn between Ni No Kuni II OR Kingdom Hearts III (the trailer for IV got piqued my interest) = what would you all recommend?
Yes!!! another trailer! this is my most anticipated game this year! Glad that I don't have to play the first one to know this story. Atlus knew that they needed a new starting point. Kinda wish they could've just called it Soul Hackers. Anyway, yay Atlus and yay SMT spin offs. They sure know how to make turn based combat look and feel exciting.
@arra1213 I mean...PS3 was many many many years ago. I'm sure alot of the folks over at Platinum weren't there when they had whatever petty thing there was with Playstation. shrugs
Time for Platinum games to join the Playstation suite of studios and be given a chance to (re)focus on a single player only, high octane and energetic action game - similar to how they did with Vanquish.
> it's too bad though, Babylon's Fall is kind of a dope title for a game.
@BrotherFilmriss just scrolling through the comment section and noticed that you're rockin' a Commander Keen icon. kudos to you! lots of fun memories playin' that game. have a good time playin' video games!
YAKUZA 6. Y'all know how long this game can take to beat...more mystery is building after my visit to Hiroshima and Kamurocho is once again in the center of it all (of course).
Fantastic stuff. love TMNT in general. grew up playing some of these games. the Gameboy ones were fun back then, hopefully still as fun now.
Of course Turtles in Time is a classic amongst many folks.
> as for other games that should get this treatment? === the X-Men and Avengers side scroller beat em ups/platformers.
@RubyCarbuncle - i'm pretty satisfied. some folks in here set their expectations based on something that SONY literally said wasn't going to happen. SONY said it was a SoP focused on JPN publisher games --- yet folks come out and say "oh where's God of War, where's Spartacus etc etc" --- like, they literally said those ish won't be there.
> I for one am happy about JOJO, TMNT, FF Tactics but not FF Tactics, Valkyrie (not disco) Elysium looks alright (the Valkryie Profile games were fun back in the day) and EXOPRIMAL looks quite fun (if it's focused on single player). This SoP was alright in my book. --
Gundam Mechs have such cool designs and having it be through an First Person Perspective just totally misses the point...ugh - so disappointing. I hope it does well but I dunno; this is probably the most disappointing one in the SoP.
this is my kind of SoP = focusing on JPN publishers and their games. It would be cool to see more in depth look at Soul Hackers 2 and Granblue Fantasy Re Link (possibly a release date too - though I know GB has some event coming up soon). It would be cool to see a tease for Ys X as well. Maybe more about SF 6? Is there gonna be a Soul Calibur 7? - I hope so? >>> possibilities are endless. ENJOY yall!
MAIN GAME = playing Yakuza 6. the gameplay loop is just so fun. story is ramping up, which means this ramp is barely an incline cuz i know there'll be more. what a series indeed.
SIDE GAME = N/A
I suppose remasters of the unreleased Yakuza Isshin and Yakuza Kenzan could be in the works because why not... I hope RGG does a ground up remake of the PSP Yakuza Spinoff "Project K". Instead of it being a fighting game, just make it like a typical Yakuza game, or I guess Judgement now, with it's focus more on action instead of turn based combat. OR - make a side scrolling beat em up with totally different characters and lore.
finally playing Yakuza 6. been a fan since the PS2 days but just getting around to the final game for Kiryu-san. it's nice to be back in Kamurocho. > after I'm done with the game (in a few weeks maybe months cuz adult-ing/parenting), I'll likely jump in to another backlog game (Nier:A / NnK2 / Batman:AK)
