i almost feel bad for the team working on it , they seemed so happy to get the chance to do it , but it was really under whelming when the trailer came out.

@ThriIIho its crazy how popular ps2 remasters were on ps3 , but i'm pretty surprised how all these ps3 games haven't gotten a remaster on ps4 or ps5. infamous , killzone , resistance, motorstorm , ratchet and clank.

i hope people support this , maybe they'll see that people want the series back. i'd love to at least see the original 3 games remastered for the ps5.

@BrettAwesome I mean let’s be real , you can dislike him but still enjoy the games. It’s not his job to be likeable it’s his job to make games people want to play

@NEStalgia not really , i feel like thats what most people think live service means, which does not. a live service game just involves regular updates , another example is assassins creed game would be a live service game for a while now. if you search no mans sky being a live service game , sites consider it one of the best live service games out there. i feel like thats why people hate it so much because its a pretty misunderstood thing.

myself i'd rather a ps5 pro and hold off the ps6 , then the ps6 could and should be even more advanced.

@LifeGirl i hate when people just single out a single part of something that is written , i'm good , if you aren't going to bother to read what i wrote why should i do the same for you.

its crazy this game is still getting pretty big updates years later , i need to dive back into this , i haven't played in a while. but this is also another example of a game can be live service and still be good. yet people still hate live service games for some reason.

@Andee you should play it , 2nd story was one of my favorite rpg's of all time.

@Darth_Stofi not every live service game is Fortnite , assassins creed has been live service and that’s a single player game. I feel like people just assume it means online only games.

@ATaco the entire tech industry had a down time , and had to layoff a lot of people , not just video games. its silly to blame sony acting like they are the only ones and you think they are actually enjoying it? its how a company is run. you can't pay people if there is no work for them right now, along with budgets they have to meet.

i'm pretty excited for this , im going to wait till i eventually beat rebirth , if i buy another game either i won't be playing it or it will distract me from rebirth lol.

@truerbluer honestly for a first game effort i liked calisto , i feel like if they made a 2nd game they could improve on what they already have imo.

@Godot25 lets bring reality in this , sony saw the progress or lack of said progress of those games. they don't cancel games that will be good. yet people are acting like they did with games you haven't even seen. if anything mismanaging them would be allowing them to waste their time on a low quality product.

i'm on the other side the first game was great , but i find this better because its more of an open world. as some one who played the original game , while i didn't 100% it , i did a lot , getting all the summons , breading all the chocobos , finding all the enemy skill magic. to be its between 9-10 , not quite a 10 but better then 9 , so 9.5.

i can't wait for this game but i'm not picking it up till i'm done playing rebirth i know either i won't play one or the other.

@fybyfyby sony has money invested in epic , so i doubt they would leave their store

@Deadlyblack the tech industry as a whole is having massive layoffs currently not just gaming. and it is forcing it if it has nothing to do with the article you are commenting on.

@Deadlyblack why are people trying to force these lay off comments in these stories? i don't get it. its sad that people lost their jobs , but to act like sony or any other tech companies enjoy laying off people is just foolish.

i would give them the socom franchise and see what they could do with it

@HeavymetalGordon the plus side if they keep using the same tech , ps4 / ps5 games will be playable on the ps6. if you are expecting ps3 bc its never happening.

i feel like once naughty dog shows off their new games , sony bend shows off what they've been working on , along with sucker punch , santa monica ect. a lot of things will be forgotten about. i feel like when Coreys rumored sci-fi game gets announced people will go crazy for it.

the game looks fine to me , maybe because i'm actually busy playing it , and not just staring at the screen looking for stuff wrong with it.

@HonestHick it sounds like they have something they've been working on before last of us 3 which could be a new ip. i know last of us 2 gets a lot of hate , but i've been replaying it again on ps5. which i put everything else on halt till i finish final fantasy 7 rebirth lol, which is why i'm not exactly too worried about other games since it will take me forever to finish an 100+ hr game these days.

@HonestHick i feel the only people that can actually answer that question is the people who are making these games. trust me , i just like you and many other people really want to see what these games they've been working on are. i think we'll see them sooner then later. its either we get to see what they've been working on and they could have , but its like these games are 3-4 years off. or they work on them and say this is what we've been working on and its out in 6 months. personally i'd rather the short wait after the announcement. and to be fair sony this gen hasn't really been announcing games that aren't ready to be announced like they have in the past.

@HonestHick i'm surprised people are upset at this , they are getting what they want, less live service games , and a refocus more on single player games. i feel like with the high costs of games sony is playing it too safe though , and making the games take a lil more time then it should. but i'm sure they'll be fine once they announce the games they've been working on over the years , people will forget all about this.

@Shepherd_Tallon well the reality is both go hand and hand. a game is canceled , so people that were hired to work on those games they'll have to lay off. most of them were only hired for 1 game either way , and were not long term employees and they bounce around studios.

@riceNpea finally a rational comment. Sony clearly saw a lot of these games , i don't think they liked what they saw. Not only that but saw the reaction to live service games , and just didn't want to risk it.

@KilloWertz the success the platform is having isn't really the reason the for the lays offs. if those live service games those studios were working on were canceled , then the people that were hired just to work on live service games no longer have work , which means they are layed off.

Just a shot in the dark but it sounds like they are canceling most if not all of their live service unannounced games , and the people that were hired to work on those games are the ones who they are laying off.

@sanderson72 I mean isn’t every company’s goal to hit their profit margin? It’s not different with Sony as it is the countless other tech companies that had to lay people off. Sadly I know people who had to do the laying off so many % of their workers in the tech industry and it’s not easy. The bright side is they can find work quickly in a new studio or another developer or even eventually return to Sony.

i wish sony purchased them. i feel like they made a good team with sony , but since they started multiplatform games they got worse with a few decent ones.

i love mine , i just wish there was more to do with it , not talking about just games , i hate that they removed vr from hulu i enjoyed watching hulu in vr, they need some type of like atmosphere media viewer , kind of what the apple headset does. watching a video in youtube/netflix/hulu/appletv it puts you in a movie theater or virtual house.

its crazy that the only resistance game on ps5 is a psp game, i think you can stream the 3rd game. but the 1st and 2nd game aren't on there as far as i know. if any games need remasters or remakes its killzone , resistance , and infamous.

this could also be testing to the waters to see if this works out or not. but these games will be exclusive to pc / xbox for at least a 1 year either way.

i love game pass but i have no issues buying 1st party games from Sony.

he just wanted to confirm the news. he clearly said the people that are making those games , wanted to release a trailer / announce the news with a real announcement and not a podcast like this.

@atthegates 3rd party game it would be their deal with ubisoft , its not sony taking these games they don't own off and on just to mess with people.

@Ralizah also naughty dog and insomniac were 3rd party on ps1, i can't remember when sony bought naughty dog i'm guessing it was jax and daxter days.

@Ryan22sp with assassins creed japan coming out either late 2024 or early 2025 as well.
