@Grimwood How exactly does playing a game multiple times “spoil the experience”. I replay many games for multiple reasons. Obviously the story beats are not going to be as impactful the second time but the gameplay can still be enjoyed potentially forever.
What if it’s not a story driven game, a game that relies solely on gameplay? What’s wrong with playing them again?
I constantly replay the Resident Evil game, all the FROMSOFT games, the Nioh Games, the Hatsune Miku games… they never get old.
Your take is weird and myopic.

@ChrisDeku I agree with you. Any time there is a black protagonist, especially a black and female protagonist, the neck beard trolls come out to play.
No different from TLOU2 and the bigoted garbage because characters were either female, trans or gay.

Super excited for this. Spent like 1000 hours in Nioh 2, one of the best games of this generation.

The only Bethesda games I own are The Evil Within 1 and 2 and even then I was not to impressed with giving them money. They seem like a dumpster fire.

@fromjtov I agree but I think it’s more important to get a game right before releasing it. I’m happy to wait through delays or long development cycles if the game is finished and polished.

I seem to be the only one who is left cold by Naughty Dog games. The Last Of Us 2 was kind of ok I guess but I never want to play it again.
I don’t understand why modern games are often so desperate to be interactive movies.
I much prefer games that are ‘gamey’.

I find it mind boggling that some people haven’t played the original given that it’s been released like 15 times.

@KundaliniRising333 You can easily control the loot system if you bother to set it up in the menus. Are the menus cluttered? Maybe. But part of playing such a complex game is becoming intimate with the systems.
If you don’t like it, there are plenty of games which are basically movies and have no replay value or depth.

I am hyped for this. Put probably a thousand plus hours into Nioh 2.

@Nexozi Because Horizon is more of the same in a very boring way. The story is an ordeal or boringness.

Well I’m bored. Elden Ring was easily game of the year. Certainly beats games trying to be movies….

I will never understand these modernisations of 80s games. Sure, they were great at the time but regardless of how many polygons or bells and whistles they have added, the games are still very one-note.

@MakersMark I completed this mode. It’s a little different from the challenge in this story since it didn’t have perma-death. But still, it was an incredible feeling to get the platinum!!

@Juanalf Exactly. Give me quality over quantity any day. Capcom have been kicking goals with this series. A few fans seen to hate the RE3 remake but I loved that too. Just not as much as RE7 and RE2. Village raised the bar even more!
The only thing I think the series needs at this point is a dedicated dodge button which is the same in all the titles. The one in RE3 was excellent. Having no dodge in the RE2 remake made it so much clunkier than it needed to be.

Resident Evil as a series is consistently solid and a pleasure to play. Once they got the awful RE6 out of their system, the return to horror and puzzles has made every subsequent game awesome for the fans. At least the fans who aren’t militant purists anyway. They can never be pleased.
Also shout out to the RE Engine. Absolutely gorgeous graphics.

This is super impressive. I ran a bleed build for my first 2 plays and then sorcerer for next 2. I’m not sure I got no hits on any boss!

Must time to moan about numerical scores again.

Considering data miners have confirmed it would take one line of code to give us a 60fps version, Sony are being ridiculous not investing a little into a remaster.
