I watch this show with my niece. It’s extremely well written and often deals with adult themes in a really thoughtful and sweet way.

This is a good example of how cut throat the gaming industry is. It’s more expensive than ever to develop games and these kinds of downsizing happen often.
I wish people would realise this before they announce things like “I’ll wait for it to be on PSPlus or in the bargain bin”
Let’s face it, if you live in a developed nation, you can afford to support developers you like by buying at full price. It’s called saving. And not treating developers like you’re browsing a flea market.

I wonder if the voice actor will have to deal with racist neckbeard again. All while feebly trying to convince everyone their reasons are ok.

Ray tracing or not, the combat in SM games is button mashing. Much like Assassin’s Creed.
FROMSOFT games and Nioh have made the combat in any other games seem trash.

I played the demo and was left confused. The combat was good but it never felt like it gelled with me. I’m so tempted to try the full game after this review. I was expecting it to get a 6/10 to be honest.
Can someone tell me how the countering works and is it satisfying? Can countering be done on all enemies?

@mariomaster96 amen. The vast majority of games have terrible dialogue, unfortunately.

Highly debatable. I thought this game was dull as dishwater, the dialogue was atrocious, the story was a boring re-hash and the core gameplay was EXACTLY the same as the previous game.

What the point when they only release a handful of titles from old consoles and skip the ones anyone actually want to play?
There’s less than 10 PS1 game available in my country.

For some reason whenever I saw these games on the PSN Store I assumed they were shovelware.
I’m pleasantly surprised!

At this point in the generation I’m quite frankly sick of major AAA titles releasing on old hardware.
It means we get watered down games for the current gen consoles. Maybe a bit of fancy lighting or a smoother frame rate at most.
This practice only happened for about 6 months in the transition between PS3 and PS4.
It just comes across as greedy and consumer unfriendly.

Forgive me if I’m being ignorant here, but how does a totally blind person play a game like Mortal Kombat?
It’s great that there is an accessibility option for hearing fatalities but you’ve gotta win a match and perform the fatality first!

I would have loved to see some single player action here. I’m a huge horror fan but not a huge multiplayer fan. Oh well..

Walking simulator games can be really good. Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch are two I would give 9/10 to. This one looks very dull.

I don’t get why every likes Spiderman so much. That type of button mash combat just reminds of Assassins Creed (yick) and there is almost no variety in locations. Building after generic building.
Alan Wake 2 however looks extremely good. It looks like they are ramping up the horror and that’s a very good thing.

I gotta say, the price of this collection is absurd and vaguely insulting. It’s $20 less than a brand new AAA title.

Making games is very cut throat. I think many gamers don’t seem to understand this. It’s also very expensive to make games. I think it’s important to support the developers who make the games you love, by buying those games at full price. I support Capcom and FROMSOFT this way, and I’m certainly not rich - I save.

This sort of behaviour literally creates a climate where there are less AAA games. It’s working against your own interests.

I always thought mech games were a very niche thing. I’m surprised this is such a big budget game.

I don’t understand why the absolutely garbage combat and character movement in all Rockstar games gets a a constant pass from everyone.

“Procedurally Generated” - I’m definitely one of those people who are turned off by these words.
But I love FROMSOFT style games, pity there’s only like 1 or 2 that are actually good.

The Resident Evil games are almost completely devoid of this chicanery.

@StrawberryTurtle They both make movies I’m not interested in watching. Really populist comedy action movies. Not trying to sound pretentious but those movies are not for me I find them dull. I think they are both good at a very narrow range of acting at best. I don’t have an opinion on who is the better actor.

I noticed the original Twisted Metal game is available on the PS Store. That’s all well and good but the sequel was far better in my opinion. Played that at many a sleepover as a young teen.
I still have nightmares about my friend destroying me with the guy whose body was attached to two giant wheels!
