This sort of thing is never a good idea for anyone except the giant corporations involved. It essentially limits the options for consumers. Look at Disney owning Marvel and Fox…

@ApostateMage and? It was still uncalled for and ridiculously greedy considering how many units they shifted. Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you SHOULD.

GTAV was an average game at best. All bells and whistles, very little meat. They barely fixed the broken combat controls from the previous games.

I feel like if you accept and pay these kinds of hikes, you haven’t thought about the larger ramifications for the industry. Predatory games-as-a-service nonsense. Embarrassing

It’s literally only important with games that feature fast action. Racing games and games like Nioh or Dark Souls or First Person shooters all spring to mind. However I truly believe that the average 60 fps whiners would never be able to tell the difference. It’s just become a buzzword.

@Swizzle You can always get it and save it for later or wait till the price comes down while you play other titles. The amount of FOMO that goes on with gamers is pretty absurd.
I once saved the Dark Souls 2 DLC until years after release and many completed games. It felt like a special present when I was a bit depressed and looking for something engaging to play! Felt great!!!

@NEStalgia also Mario goes back to the 1970s I believe. Has has FAR more games than Lara and far more memorable personality. “ITSA MEE MAARIO!”

@colonelkilgore I feel this way too. Days Gone was really fun, albeit only for the first play through.
Ronin looks fun to me and I love Team Ninja.

@rjejr your elden ring strategy sure sounds boring. No offence. But I wanted to search everywhere and fight everything (when appropriately levelled) - and co-op play is annoying in that game. You’re travelling around the country side with a pal and then you can’t enter any dungeons or castles without disconnecting. I preferred to play it solo.

I often find the Sony exclusives technically amazing but not enjoyable to play. With the exceptions of Nioh 2 and Bloodborne… I hope this changes my mind.

Once you mentioned deliberate combat as opposed to button mashing - I was sold!!!

@Jerzyna97 I dunno, fumbling around with my phone sounds just as arduous. Each to their own but I like my phone in another room when I play games - for less distraction and more immersion.

@jt887 TBH I’ve found almost all PS exclusives for PS5 very meh and not my thing. I expect this game will change that.

I don’t really like the idea of difficulty levels for Team Ninja games… Or the idea of it being less difficult overall than other TN games. I play their games for the challenge and ummmm.. masochism.

What is the Capcom one about?

The few times I’ve played this type of game I’ve felt like there is no actual gameplay and seem like they only exist for fan service towards the WWE and the characters.
Can someone explain the appeal? I’m not trashing the games I’m genuinely interested.

Sifu looked way too frustrating for me. I like hard hards but not ones that are absurdly hard at the expense of fun.

Am I correct in saying this looks like a more narrative driven and more open world version of Nioh 2? Either way I’m damn excited

I can’t believe this game got such a good review here. It looks like a predatory game-as-a-service pile of poo, with loot boxes and almost nothing to do with the franchises it presents..

Can you board the ships? Because ship only combat is very limited.

@KillerBoy don’t underestimate the user base for Nioh 2. It put Team Ninja on the map for many players.

Team Ninja’s recent games are fantastic. Can’t wait for this one!! I just hope there is meaty end game content like in Nioh 2. That game kept me going for 2000 hours.

@Bunchesopuppies I enjoyed Myst back in the day but the puzzles were beyond obtuse lol.

This game looks like a generic game as a service, loot box filed, predatory piece of garbage with absolutely to personality.

Let’s be real here, folks If it’s not immediately profitable they will drop it like a sack of potatoes. Like Anthem and dozens of other games.
It’s insulting to everyone when publishers or developers make these meaningless promises.

What annoys me is this stupid trend of ‘remastering’ games that came out a year or two ago. And ‘remaster’ meaning nothing more than a resolution upgrade.

I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a Rock Steady game.

@DonkeyFantasy Nioh 2 is elite. Just don’t expect a FROM game. I put easily 2000 hours into it.

I’m all for spectacular visuals but I found the 2nd horizon game a real let down. I couldn’t care less about the narrative and interactions with the characters. The combat is still good but I stopped playing entirely after about 2 hours.
