Re: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Reveals Five Months of Paid DLC, Free Updates

Arnna

Team Ninja knocked it out the park with Nioh 2 DLC, I’m glad they are continuing the trend.
Wu-Long is not as deep as Nioh 2 and the community pretty much agree on this. But it is a very solid game and the emphasis on parrying is extremely fun. I will be supporting all paid DLC that comes out and have been consistently playing it since release. Team Ninja are worth supporting. They don’t always get it 100% right but they treat their customers well and provide excellent DLC with no predatory loot boxes or micro transactions.

Re: PS Plus Premium Adds Four-Hour Trial for One of the Best RPGs Ever Made

After hearing all the praise The Witcher got, I gave it a try. Didn’t gel with me at all. Combat is super important in action RPGs and I felt like it was very ‘floaty’ and imprecise.
These days I feel like developers like FromSoftware and Team Ninja have implemented combat in such a way that everything seems really crap.

Re: PS5 Console Sales Surpass 40 Million, Sony Confirms

@Netret0120 Which is very annoying because the vast majority of games are built for both, forgoing any meaningful graphical wizardry for new games on PS5. Even some PS5 exclusives like Dead Space look and play like last Gen.

I hope this practice goes away. It wasn’t like this with PS3 into PS4 - just a few cross platform games for the first 6 months or so.
It really hurts the idea of a ‘next gen’ experience.

Those games play like crap on PS4 too. I tried Wo-Long and Resident Evil 4 on PS4 just out of curiosity and it’s not pretty. Frame rates are non existent.

I imagine these figures would have been higher if the damn thing was freely available from the jump. PS5 came out in November 2020 and literally couldn’t buy one until Xmas 2022. I’m in Australia - not sure if that makes a difference.

@BeenGamingSince_83 I remember enjoying the ‘Maximum Carnage’ series of comic books when I was a young one. I enjoyed the giant cast of characters in that series.
With the games, I think I’ve been spoiled by the combat in FROMSOFT and Team Ninja games, so when I see this kind of loose, button mashy combat I’m immediately turned off.

Re: Bungie's PS5 Marathon Reboot Recruits Top Halo Infinite Talent

Arnna

Back when I was a child my family only had Macintosh computers in the house due to the software my architect father used for his job being Mac only. Back then the only first person shooter that was available was Marathon. I remember it being clunky as hell and had really obtuse level design. The furthest I could get was about level 4 before I couldn’t work out where to go. The days before sites like GameFaqs too, so getting help was near impossible!!

Marathon seems like a really weird IP to resurrect for modern audiences. It a super obscure title.
Anyone else remember it on ancient Mac computers?

Re: SEGA Survey Suggests Persona 3 Reload to Retail for $69.99

@straw-hat-crew It’s great that you can afford to pay for your games. So can I and I’m living on a pension. I save for weeks or months and then buy a game.
Entitled little babies who say things like “I’ll just wait till it’s in the $10 bin” are the problem. They are so self centred they refuse to ever pay full price and have zero understanding of how much games take to make and why so many studios go under.

Re: The Last of Us 3 Rumours Are Doing the Rounds Again

I forced myself to play the second game, I’m not usually a fan of games with heavy exposition. It was good, and fairly amazing on a technical level.
I just can’t get excited about this kind of game.
I feel like I’m the only one, sometimes.
