Well most companies are doing it. 70 USD which is 113 NZD. Which NZD games can be around 125 NZD so if you think 70 USD is expensive. Some retailers in NZ took have discounts so I got FFXVI at 100. Not sure if I'll get this day one or wait for a sale. I got most of the Persona games day one except for Royal which I got at discount. If whether Atlus decides to do a definite edition which will be likely?

I heard from a Interview they might have some of the extra content in FES such as Aigis social link from FES and new scenes .Not the after story of FES which I hope they will elaborate more on this.

Im trying to think of which version to buy. I played this in Japanese on PS4 and Steam. I got PC,PS4/PS5 and Switch. I still got tons of games to play too. I'm trying to decide between PS5 and Switch for the English version.

FFXVI is a great game I think in the long term it will still do well. It's one of the better entries since FFX for me. Some people make things worse than what it sounds. Combat people weren't sure with and FF after FFX has had a identity crisis. FFXVI for me is miles better than FFXIII and FFXV.

I played Kuro 1 in Japanese it's a great game. Second game isn't as good from what I've played of it.

I wouldn't mind if its Tokyo Xanadu 2. I'm good for something new longs it's in their mind trying to make what they want to make rather than making something trying to cater to the western audience.

@ShogunRok Yeah I remember it was mostly all the Evolution titles with all the games in the Sky series as well as the Cold Steel series. Yeah I played Kuro 1 and 2. Kuro 1 was really good great protagonist as well as story and Kuro 2 is just like Cold Steel 2 with just more playable screen time for some of the characters that had only a little bit of playable time in Kuro 1.

With them looking at a new title all together I wonder if they'll do Kuro Final Chapter or wait another year.

@Rob_230 That's what I think too Sony should help with support with Falcom to widen the gap between releases to get a timed exclusive.Infact Sony Japan helped promote Kuro 2. It was their cover photo on their Twitter page at one point.

@DragonBl It's not. Xbox just has advertising rights,embargo deal and Gamepass deal. This is coming to PlayStation and Steam as well.

I'm for exclusives if developers strive to make the best game they can with the resources they can get. Well as using the advantages of the console they're making it for. Stellar Blade didn't look like much when it was revealed in 2019 now it's got my attention.

I think most of the new voices sound good so far. Ahikiko voice I'm not sure about haven't heard enough lines from him. I just thought Liam O'Brien voice was perfect for Ahikiko. I think it's weird too with them still marketing it like it's an exclusive since the announcement embargo has ended. I agree with what Jim said too. Well since I have had fond memories of P3 I'm happy with what I see trailer wise. Hopefully they move on from P3,P4,P5 after this.So many people haven't played 1 &2 since that needs a remake.

Well, if I go back to the series and regardless, I play in JP dub. Nagoshi is no longer working on it. It's just another franchise these days.

Meh honestly maybe it's not the art style but maybe just the milking of the franchise I feel like it has to have enough purpose besides that. I had my share of Persona 4 when that was milked and now, I've had my share of Persona 5. I'm just glad to get Persona 3 Reload and glad to leave 3 at that. Persona 3 FES was a good memory of mine. I'm ready to move on. Persona 6 or a Persona 2 Remake since lots of people didn't get a chance to play 2.

For me personally it's FFIV,FFX/FFXIV,FFT,FFXVI,FFIX and then FF7. I loved 16 currently near the end. Just wished for more secret bosses and the game takes a bit to open up. Wish for playable party members for next FF. I think it addressed big criticism on lore and story which recent FF games struggled in that regard. If anything FFXVI I more compared it to FFXIV,FFT and FFXII.

I would even take a Bleach Soul Resurrection Remaster for PS4/PS5. I'm only looking forward to is Granblue Relink and hopefully some more footage of Persona 3 Reload. Since Persona 3 bring back some special memories since it was my first Persona game back in the PS2 days.

Looking good hopefully once that confirm that release date, I'm looking forward to buying this. Fingers crossed it actually comes out this year.

Glad they are doing JJK. If it's any good like usual it depends on which developer Namco gets working on it. Update: As expected it done by Byking who works on My Hero Academia game adaptions.

Namco is worth a lot more than lots of other JP publisher's and they're so lazy.

8.8 so far. I think exploring should be more rewarding besides treasure chests and side quests. I think they just need to improve on side content post-game. I think it's a lot better than FF13 and FF15 for me and finally they put an effort into storytelling. Active Time Lore is a godsend.

I think despite older game having higher sales so far, it's done well. Some people are mixed as this title is an action RPG. Considering it's only on PS5 and the size of the userbase is 38-40 million. Plus, not as much development/management troubles that FF13 & FF15 had people craved for FF more back then with mainline entries taking ages as well as people being put off the series with those 2 games. I think it will do well enough in the long run plus it will get extra sales with a PC release sometime next year-ish. I think it will keep selling and it will do fine with Sony hand in marketing and development which took a year or 2 off development time and the money.

Maybe they tried talking them into it and Square said no.

Well MS probably always wanted to do this. If they said this back in 2019-2020 then I don't see their goals changing in 2023 onwards.

New Tales game, Xenosaga trilogy remaster or if there's something new that looks cool other than that I don't care. They usually just milk the same franchises

At the moment I'm 20 hours in.So far, I'm really enjoying the game. Feel like I'm enjoying it a lot more than I enjoyed FFXIII and FFXV. Despite the few flaws such as less RPG customization.

I imagine Nagoshi had enough of the management. Sega mismanagement has been going on for years. Some people might also notice Yu Namba who used to work under Atlus for years some will know him as the localization director now works for Spike Chunsoft. I see lots of changes going on.

They would still have to go through lots of holes to get it approved with Japanese laws. But overall Sega has always had bad management. Japanese people would hate it if Sega got brought by MS. But if things are going the way they're going Atlus should separate from Sega.

@UltimateOtaku91 Add to that list 360 years MS was full of it Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia timed/West exclusive,COD MW maps DLC before Sony, GTA IV DLC year exclusive, Used PS5 footage to promote 360 version of FFXIII. All companies do it not only Sony which some don't get.
Nintendo done it with Monster Hunter Rise + expansions no one talks about that, or they got Monster Hunter games exclusive to Wii after the PSP success with Monster Hunter. It's simple MS dropped the ball with Xbox One and they paid the price. It was their own fault. Nintendo fought back after the Wii U failure. PS3 fought back on its second part of its lifecycle. If Sony did try to get Starfield exclusivity at the time it would have been a timed console exclusive for a year if most. Bethesda dropped the ball pretty hard with Fallout 76's failure.

MS is like Teflon the story never sticks I wish they had a exec named Tony. Elder Scrolls is going to be Xbox console exclusive they said so in the past. For them saying there's more PS games coming over from them it's because they are service based games or old games/contracts.

@TheCollector316 From the sounds of it so far the producer said he will make a PC release and he'll say that will take a while after the 6 months is up if it does go to Xbox it will be a lot longer but I also heard that MS complain that Bloodborne,FF7,FFXVI and Silent Hill are never coming to Xbox in the FTC documents. So yeah I see it being the same as FF7 Remake which Sony had funding I think.Yeah Sony has treated this and the FF7 Remakes like a first party game. I find stars advertising cringe it doesn't draw me but it will convince some of the typical mainstream. I'm playing it for the game and the demo spoke volumes. I brought it and currently enjoying FFXVI.

@Fiendish-Beaver Yup I recall them saying "We are not in Competition with Sony" and next minute they would say "We can't beat Sony or We don't have good exclusives like them" . I feel like we get 4 different articles per week of them saying different things. Where as for Sony your lucky to have 4 different articles a month.

@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah I remember they almost scrapped the Xbox after the Xbox One DRM controversy. The thing I find with MS keep saying one thing and the next day they something else. There's bugger all transparency from Microsoft.

I recall seeing him on twitter on gaming articles. I found his opinion on things a mixed bag. Well Sega got back the original voice actor from 1 in Like a Dragon 7 and now replacing him to save money. Nevertheless, idc Yakuza is a series that always should be experienced in JP dub.

@GamingFan4Lyf With the Sony and Bungie acquisition it was clear it was part of their agreement that Bungie would put out their games on all their platforms.

@Sil_Am It will be a big blow, but it won't bankrupt them. Seeing these practices, it's up to players to vote with their wallets. Gaming industry always changes there's always ways to innovate. How ever this ends up it doesn't affect me as a consumer. Other than Spyro Remastered and Tony Hawk 1&2 Remaster maybe Diablo 4 if I get it on PC at some point there's not much I care about from Activision.

This looks great I cannot wait to play this gem. I think Square has improved a lot they really went downhill PS3 gen.

@KidRyan Im glad they are doing some new IPs too. Yeah I really wish they would go back to making Onimusha which gets overshadowed by Capcoms other IPs. 1 is available across all formats. Wish we could get 2,3 and 4 being more accessible since they are on PS2.

Sony needs to improve on their classic games a lot. Valkyrie Profile and Legend of Dragoon is a good start. I know there's licensing issues but more work needs to be done as well as fixing the PS2 emulator. There were still lots of games on PS1/PS2 which weren't available in Europe such as Xenogears and Tales of the Abyss. Heck getting the PS3 classics moved to the PS4, PS5 stores for a start.

Of all the companies to leak this information who would have thought it would have been Sega Korea. I just had to laugh. Well one way or another it was a matter of time. These embargo day deals are weird usually for other companies it's after the conference ends. I'd say the next exclusive like P3P and P4G is to prevent other platforms from pre-ordering these games.

Sony I think helped a huge chunk of development with FFVII Remake series and this too. If an exclusive makes a better game I'm all for it.

@Ashina There's rumors that Nintendo is developing a new console so if it not on Switch it could come to that since P5 Tactics is confirmed coming to Switch.

5-year cycles are concerning and that's the thing. Having unique experiences are a great thing. Being open world is far from everything it's making a great experience I reckon. Gaming and films are two different things. Part of a reason Sony is doing GAAS too besides Activision being acquired is a matter of time.

@Blackmagehobbit yeah well since the PS2 and Xbox days I seen PS as more JPRPGs and Xbox for WRPGs so in a way it's coming back to that. For MS buying Bethesda and likely getting Elder Scrolls VI exclusive to PC/Xbox Consoles I'm for having some FF games as a console exclusive to PlayStation. Yeah the 60% increase in GAAS to 40% single player in 2025 is what I found concerning and seen it in another financial report a year or two ago which should be 40-50% in I do see why they are doing it. There's not many times Jim has had to take feedback which they did with the PS3/Vita Stores with the classic games which I think is an area Sony needs to work in. They had a start with Valkyrie Profile and Legend of Dragoon which is a good start.

I'm glad they are moving on tech wise so that they can utilize their strength. It was clear as day that this wasn't coming to PS4 from the get-go with FF7 Intergrade. If it brings their potential and more content to the game, I'm for it being current gen only.

@Blackmagehobbit I think they made some of the deals when Atlus was part of Index Corporation or Sega left them alone for a while. Later over time Sega pushed for more control over Atlus with Persona games selling more than most of Sega's games. I agree Sony needs to try and keep good relations with the third parties to try and keep console exclusives those small things make a big difference. I agree the push for more GAAS is concerning in their financials rather than keeping it a little more balanced.

@Sil_Am Infact Atlus is good with Sony mainly probably had the Persona 5 deal when Atlus was owned by Index Corporation. Sega kind of didn't interfere until they released Persona 5 outsold lot of their games after the push from Sega had taken control. Infact Sega does hate Sony for killing their business, but Sega knows it needs both MS and Sony to survive. Sega did help Sony back in PS3 days with exclusives when PS3 was on the back foot.

Recent trailers have been good. Keeping my eye on this.

@Therabidraccoon Yeah, I hope they go back to using some of their PS2 and some of their PS3 IPs which I miss those games from Sony. I see why Sony is doing Gaas but to the amount of it is concerning hopefully they take some feedback on this or they have to learn the hard way. Yeah, Sony also needs to keep their third-party ties strong to try and get some exclusives for their systems besides their first party things. Which I'm glad they invested in Rise of Ronin, Lost Soul Aside and Stellar Blade

@GodofCapcom I notice Capcom are doing Gamepass deals with mostly new Capcom IPs. I don't expect much from Exoprimal. But we could be surprised. Kunitsu Gami looks interesting I wouldn't mind trying it out. It just makes me hope one day we'll get a new Onimusha game.

I kind of expected it not to have the P3P content personally. But no FES means Atlus can sell it as DLC. Im happy to play P3 Reload in the future but if they do an extended edition, it's a no. P4 and P5 spinoffs are a no go for me. But P3 I don't mind for one more time and that's it. Persona 2 hopefully can get remade one day.

Looks like a mix SMT/Persona Katsura Hashino's new game. One of the surprises of MS's showcase. Which it's likely multiplatform once the embargo is lifted.

@Nem I expected them not to include the P3 Portable content. FES content not being included either. Atlus at least likely to do it as DLC or a complete edition. I think it looks nicer to play though in a Persona 5 coat of paint.

Yeah, they also changed the English voice cast too.
