@Oz_Momotaro Shu is happier taking a backseat roles for indies. Which is an area Sony lacked in a lot, but it has greatly improved since he started working on it.

Ryan was a mixed bag used the success of Shaun Layden like Shaun did with Jack Tretton.
California issues was Layden. Got all the political baggage with it such as censorship.

Downsides
Price hikes PS5 plus PSN,Lack of PS Classics on PSN/PS Plus and axing Japan studio. Big focus on GAAS is understandable but 60% of it is concerning.

Upsides
Few acquisitions, More output to expand variety, Hoping Sony in the future is more independent. Getting big third party console exclusives. New collaborations Stellar Blade & Rise of Ronin as well as allowing Shu focus on better indies

@Bunchesopuppies I remember that they done this with Tower of Fantasy as well.

Good to have some fun exploration,more exploring and mini games. So far I'm glad this is on my buy list in February alongside Granblue Relink ☺️

Once I play through this patch I'll be taking a decent break from FF14 until the rumoured FF16 Collab comes out. To this day Heavenward and Shadowbringers are my favourite expansions.
I can't see Dawntrail topping those.

Endwalker for me was only a little better than Stormblood.

Yeah they weren't specific on which consoles ZZZ is going to release on. All I know in one of their trailers they hinted of a PS release.

This reminds me a lot of one of their older games Grand Knights History. I liked Odin Sphere,Muramasa and 13 Sentinels a lot. I'm happy if Vanillaware stays afloat.

@Powerplay94 Exactly this I loved the theme and the characters. The world wasn't black and white. I felt that it being a complete opposite to Zestiria was interesting. Yeah Arise fell really flat from lv30 onwards most of the enemies/bosses attack patterns stayed the same besides a few.

I'd rather they put the time to focus more on the next Tales game. Fix the problems Arise had. Bring back a Berseria level storytelling,mystic Arte cut ins,fix the AI in the future,more minigames and side quests big like Graces f or Vesperia.

Ever since years ago MS has never changed spend more time running their mouths and throwing their dollars around. Lot of companies are mismanaged MS especially though.

I think Fallout from Bethesda is highly overrated personally. Well PC is made for games like Oblivion and Skyrim for its modding.

Either way idc. The only studio I care about from Bethesda is Tango.

Decapolice looks interesting. Look like it has the DNA of their older titles.

Premium selection is lacking and I see it continue to do so. Sony needs to engage more with fans about this. The Extra games are good but I own most of them. I think it's just better off buying the games you want.

Looking great. Enjoyed the original Granblue and looking forward to picking this up. Fingers crossed we can get a demo

@Cashews Not the case like for an Xbox release it will be a bit later. Like with FF7 Remake/Intergrade, Elysium and FF16 there were Sony employee's listed in the credits which isn't usually the case with Square Enix games. Besides what is said on the releases I think there is a condition in their contract that is not known to us. So, a PC release is 100% likely.

I think from what Sony said the state of play it was pretty much more what I expected since I came with low expectations.

Glad I get to play Honkai on console soon and FF7 Rebirth is looking good! February is super stacked for me so that keeps me happy.

But it doesn't justify the lack of communication from Sony personally with what's going on with Stellar Blade as well as Rise of Ronin as well as lack of PS1/PSP classic games as well as the state of the PS2 emulator on PSN.

I'm not expecting much. If it beats last year's near TGS I would be surprised. Which was one of the only State of Plays that was decent.

Lot of the games I own in the backlogue.Sony done this with Twisted Metal with the TV series and now with Star Ocean with Second Story R.
I already own most of the games this month.

Dragons Crown and 13 Sentinels are well worth playing though if you haven't played them.

I just rather buy the games I need.

I own lot of these games but 13 Sentinels is a must play the story is really in-depth. Even if you're not into visual novels. Vanillaware deserves good support.

1st Alan Wake I liked it when I played it on 360 at the time after the remaster I got it played it for a while then just never felt like getting back into it.

@homelesscretin I wish for a remaster of Folklore too it was a underrated gem.

I might have to give this a try at some point. I have heard good things about this series.

I don't mind hearing more on Leviathan lore but I hope they can focus on some proper Superbosses with different attack patterns entirely. I can see minigames being unlikely from the sounds of it.

For the payers screw these subscriptions services they take away ownership of games. Glad if I play online, it's not on console. So I just buy the games if I really want them. If not, it drops in price quick. Thing with Sony increasing prices is that I can't see them getting better on classic games side of it. PS3 it was good with classic games and PS4 they kind of gave up on it in the middle of that generation.

I brought these when they came to Japan years ago and when it was released in the west I own most of these games on PS4.

I see mostly it's NISA doing the PS5 ports since they done it with Caligula Effect too. I'm happy enough with the PS4 versions.

I haven't play console online for a long time there's one option for online and that's pc. Plus I can't stand subscription services.

Sony needs to fix the PS2 emulator and put some decent classics on the store and if there's any good ones I'd buy them. But they're too lazy to get decent ones from third parties because they don't want to pay.

Sony with this price increase you should at least get the PS1/PS2 classics running on the PS3 running on the PS4/PS5 stores. There's been a big lack of communication on this.

Regardless I'm glad I'm not into subscriptions or paying for online on consoles.

I been buying games I really want from local stores that need the money not the big corps.

@CieloAzure Yeah that's the thing lot of us are aware of it and the practices have gone overboard. Royal those characters were playable in the game now charging for Kasumi & Akechi DLC for Tactica. More journalists need to start questioning Atlus whether they'll make a another edition of the game.

I don't like that lot of these interviewers or multicorporate previewers/reviewers don't care.

I'm waiting on feedback depending on P3 Reload.

@UltimateOtaku91 I personally don't care for Tactica at all. Some franchise's are at the milking stage like with P4/P5 which if anything causes me to lose interest. Metaphor has been in development for like at least 7-8 years so it's a wait and see. Yeah Reload I have some interest in I don't care for the P4,P5 DLC at all. I'm definitely getting Granblue Fantasy Relink at launch.

@CieloAzure Exactly this Persona 5 difficulty wise was easy compared to 3 &4. But Royal was even easier than 5. Exactly on 5 it tells you what weakness to hit. I agree the industry itself is having this problem just to try and cater to more people.

What I don't understand that is that the journalists are not asking Atlus whether they do a extended edition with FES content.

Vyrn can be annoying I found Paimon worse. The Vyrn JP voice is very annoying too since I played the original mobile Granblue years ago. Despite that think Tales of Arise with 3x the amount of combat styles since there like 18 playable characters so far.

I'm hope we get a demo and looking at the digital edition!

I enjoyed Honkai Star Rail it may not have the open world of Genshin but I found it a lot easier to get stellar jade's than primogems in Genshin. Gameplay for Zenless Zero looks fun too. I'm impressed with the variety of gameplay that Mihoyo has been doing over the past while.

@KaijuKaiser I think mostly that was NISA America that has been charging for PS5 ports. They been doing it with the Caligula Effect games too. It's been mostly in the west.

I admit I was surprised. I might keep an eye on this to see how this goes. It's a mix of Scarlet Nexus and Genshin.

I kinda of thought it look good when I first saw it but over time I felt like it was meh. Too many games to play especially the start of 2024. Fate Samurai Remnant looks more attractive to me than Infinity Strash.

Granblue Relink is an instant buy.
Persona 3 Reload if it's discounted or get a voucher for my birthday.
FF7 Rebirth is a buy as well. Depends on the date.
Tekken 8 is a maybe but it's more focused on online these days.
Suicide Squad and Prince of Persia ain't my cup of tea.

I'm definitely getting Relink. I waited for it for so long. I played original Granblue on mobile for ages stopped other than the odd collaboration which had Jujutsu Kaisen recently. P3 Reload looks good for me but I might wait for a sale or buy if I get a voucher depends on FF7 Rebirths date.

@Powerplay94 Yeah they have been putting embargoes for every trailer they release. It's weird.

I know it will be way easier than the original 3 which was way more of a challenge compared to 4 &5. Royal I found ridiculously easy even to original P5. Personally miss some aspects of the original battle menu with it acting more like a trigger.

Arise was one of the weaker entries of Tales for me besides aspects of the gameplay and graphics.

Granblue I spent heaps of hours on mobile and I've been waiting for this for a long time so I'm looking forward to finally playing this.

I have Kafka,Jing Yuan,Gepard,Welt,Himeko,Silver Wolf,Clara and Seele from my 5 star pulls. It'll be fun playing this on PS.

Yeah I agree it's weird with the PS4 version.

I wish they put Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection on instead of 6 which will be the PSP version. SC: Broken Destiny I've haven't tried yet it just seems like SCIV with Kratos. I wish Sony would get the PS2 emulator fixed. Bring Soul Calibur 3 on the service loved the chronicles mode so much.

Hopefully Sony can get round and fix the PS2 emulator. Good that some third party games are not held under a subscription.

Two sides to this I think less competition is the downside. But sometimes focusing one platform means spending Dev time on developing more content for the game rather than porting to other consoles

I remember back in Tekken Tag 2 Harada said he wouldn't charge DLC for characters. Tekken 7 it became a thing. But yeah Devs and conpanies can be real pr**** but fanbases aren't any better.

I heard the Slim is different again. This model in particular is similar to the previous models and is going to replace the current disk and digital PS5's.

Hoping it's a new IP. Last of Us I feel the franchise fatigue it's milked to death. But it will be likely LOUP2 Re-release or LOUP3 release.
