Re: PS5, PC Flop Concord Never Returning, Studio Closed Down

BranJ0

Absolutely insane. 4 months ago I was watching a state of play where half of it was all about Concord. Now the game doesn't even exist, has made £0 after full refunds, and everyone who made it is out of a job. Huge failure for Sony, and I really hope they learn from it

Re: Until Dawn (PS5) - Killer Teen Slasher Snags a Pricey New-Gen Remake

BranJ0

I've yet to play Until Dawn, but by the end of this review I've been convinced to play...the original. I love PS5 controller features, but they just don't seem necessary for a game like this, and frame drops for the absurd jump in price is pretty appalling. I'll grab a cheap copy of the PS4 game and play it on my PS5 later this month!

Re: All PS5 Pro Compatible Games

BranJ0

I haven't played a single PS5 game that has impressed me in terms of the console's capabilities, with the exception of like, Spider-Man 2 fast travel, which is a very boring thing to be impressed by. I just don't understand any rationale behind purchasing this

Re: Over 1,250 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Discounted Right Now

BranJ0

I had a blast playing resident evil 5 with my brother earlier this year, despite it not being a very good game, it was absolutely hilarious. Just noticed resident evil 6 has been discounted to £4, so I've nabbed that for the next time we're together!

Re: Gaming Subs Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Aren't Growing At All

BranJ0

@get2sammyb this is the thing, it doesn't work like movie subscriptions. A "short game" could be 10-15 hours, which is approximately 7 movies! I'd rather spend money simply on the individual games I want, which works out cheaper AND I get to own them, as opposed to the risk of them all being ripped off the cloud at a moment's notice

Re: Talking Point: Have Sony's Third-Party PS5 Deals Made Up for Its Lack of First-Party Games?

BranJ0

It's not the end of the world, but the PS4 generation was made up of generation-defining exclusive games with Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Last of Us 2, Spider-Man, and God of War to name a few. These are some of my favourite games, and whilst I'm very happy with the stellar output of third party PS5 exclusives, I am a bit sad that the PS5 doesn't really have any phenomenal first party original games, mostly because I know what Sony can do and it's a shame they're not doing it

Re: Rumour: Resident Evil 9 Reveal and Release Imminent, Out in January

BranJ0

Really got into this series over the past couple of years. Played RE7 and 8, I adore 7 and liked 8. Then this year have played RE5 coop, which is a bit rubbish in many ways but absolutely hilarious and so much fun with a friend. Just beat RE4 remake and it's absolutely superb, best shooter I've ever played and possibly in my top 10 games of all time. I'm going to get to the other mainline games this year in prep for RE9!

Re: Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide DLC Is Designed to Be More Challenging

BranJ0

Looking forward to this - FFXVI was my first final fantasy, and I loved it. Combat was way too shallow, and I don't think the story ever capitalised on its enormous potential it laid out in its prologue, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the game. Will definitely be playing this DLC when I've finished playing the resi 4 remake

Re: Anticipated PS5 Indie Animal Well Out This May

BranJ0

Game looks absolutely beautiful, and I'm definitely intrigued by the puzzles and platforming we've seen in the trailers. I'll wait for reviews, but I'm cautiously optimistic, and will probably pick this up at some point

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Unicorn Overlord?

BranJ0

I adore fire emblem, and I just finished 13 sentinels which is an absolute masterpiece. This game feels tailor made for me, and I can't wait to dig in eventually. Currently am very busy, so I'm going to focus my efforts on shorter games like outer Wilds and resident evil 4 remake, but in a couple of months I can see myself taking the plunge on this

Re: Sony Predicts Slide in PS5 Sales with No Major Existing IPs Planned Before March 2025

BranJ0

This seems quite expected I think? We've just had a Spider-Man, horizon, and god of war. We know that Naughty Dog are releasing another game before the last of us part 3. The only slightly sad one is ghost of Tsushima 2, but that's tremendously surprising. This news actually quite excites me, as I'm hoping Sony has a few generation defining IPs up its sleeve - all of their big ps5 games so far have just been "sequel to the big PS4 game"

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2's PS5 Sales Swing Past 10 Million Units

BranJ0

Really enjoyed this game, although I found the story a bit lacking. The game definitely peaks in the second act with the symbiote stuff - once venom comes in the story falls off a cliff. And unfortunately, even after his own game and sharing a spotlight in this one, Insomniac's Miles is still dreadfully dull, with zero interesting character traits beyond "nice guy who likes music". Really pales in comparison to Spiderverse's absolutely incredible depiction.

With all that said, I still love this game, the combat and traversal are better than ever, and I really enjoyed all the side content FAR more than the first game. So much so that it's my first ever platinum!

Re: State of Play Announced, Covering More Than 15 PS5, PSVR2 Games

BranJ0

Considering the last few state of plays, my expectations are rock bottom, but I still can't help being excited about this.

Stellar Blade looks super intriguing, I really hope that game sticks the landing.

Hoping for a sony first party surprise as it's been VERY long since we've had that, but just seems so unlikely

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 493

BranJ0

Finished FFXVI which I absolutely adored! Now going to try and finish tears of the kingdom over the next couple of weeks - I'm itching to get back onto my PS5 and play all the great games I've missed out on so far like miles morales and ragnarok, but I'm hating the feeling of zelda hanging over me!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 489

BranJ0

Currently at 86% completion of Final Fantasy XVI and absolutely loving it. It's a bit of a mess of a game, but I just love playing it and am having an absolute blast. The eikon battles are also some of the most insane things I've ever played in a video game - can't wait to see what else the game has in store for me!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Final Fantasy 16?

BranJ0

Just got my PS5 yesterday, and today I had the chance to sit down, set it up, and then this game arrived in perfect time! Never played a final fantasy game beforehand, but I've just beaten the boss in the swamp and this game is already absolutely blowing me away. Can't wait to play more!

Re: Here's the Stellar Lineup You Can Expect at Capcom Showcase Next Week

BranJ0

Only played ghost trick for the first time last year, and I absolutely loved it. If you don't know anything about it, it's made by the same guy who made ace attorney, and it's got a similarly wacky cast with a lot of depth, and an excellent mystery. The core puzzle mechanics of interacting with objects in the world are really fun, and whilst I never think it's quite as fleshed out as it could be, it's still such an enjoyable game. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend you give this game a go, it deserves more time in the spotlight!
