Yakuza 6 is pretty much a refined version of Yakuza 2’s mechanics, so if you love 6, you’ll love 2. Y6 is an awesome ride IMO.

Clan creator was a lot of fun! I wish more games did the character codes like it does. You can honestly get immersed in Clan Creator for hours. Is that your favorite mini-game in the Yakuza series so far?!

I actually loved Judgment because of how different it was to the main games. Basically it’s Yakuza but detectives. Plus, the first’s story was a lot of fun to unravel. Hope you enjoy it!

Family, money, college, girlfriends, work, sports, etc all killed my time in my 20’s. I’m kinda happy I skipped the PS3 generation because when games like Mass Effect, Dead Space, Uncharted,, etc. got remastered/remade to PS4/PS5, they felt like new titles to me. What are your favorite games that you went back to when collecting them for the PS3??

I love Yakuza’s over the top moments so I’m sure I’ll enjoy Dead Souls when I get a chance. Maybe RGG will bring it to the new Gen like Ishin. That’d be wild. If RGG makes it, I’ll play it.

Dude, rest mode is best mode. I remember the PS1 days of secretly leaving on the family system because I was mid-level. It’d almost always get turned off 😂😂

@Czar_Khastik yah those two scenes I had difficulty on normal. Anything that involves cars in games amps the difficulty dial to 200 for me. They’re the reasons I didn’t even attempt a platinum on either 😂 I think NG on hard mode should be suffice for a challenge!! Difficult to a point yet challenging

Exactly! The Judgment games (and Kaito Files DLC) are great spin-offs. The main saga doesn’t really (very minor) break into the Judgment games besides the cities really. I wish people didn’t shy away from them because of the fear of “I need to catch up on 7 games first”.

I’ve never played Dead Souls! How did you like it if you tried it?! I’ve wanted to try it for ages! I rarely played the PS3. I pretty much skipped a generation 😂 I only got it at the end of its life cycle and played like Ratchet & Clank Collection & Skyrim with my girlfriend at the time.

I didn’t really start gaming on PS post-uni/college until the PS4. Started Day 1 practically (or close to it) with PS1 then PS2. Skipped PS3 for the most part. Got a PS4 halfway through its cycle. Then Day 1 for PS5 again. So it was a full circle moment 😂 I actually remember when I was a kid going to Toys R Us to buy the PS1with the whole family. We all got to pick out one game. Such good times 😎😎

@Czar_Khastik some games allow NG+ in legend (I’m pretty sure Kiwami 2 did) but I believe most don’t. Premium Adventure lets you continue your substory progress and other activities post-game.

Legend difficulty is no joke though. I haven’t really beat it on a lot: only Kiwami 2, 4, and 6. If you’re only doing it for the story, I’d stick to like hard mode. But if you’re trophy hunting, there’s no avoiding Legend difficulty in most games 😭😭

Oh, I forgot to mention both Judgment & Lost Judgment are fantastic Yakuza spin-offs. But, you should focus on the mainline games first IMO!

@Czar_Khastik I would definitely play Kiwami 1 when you have time. I only say you should play it before (but not like exactly before- Gaiden should be the game you play right before) starting IW because the story largely connects to it. Plus, 1 has the best Majima moments so it’s a must play 😂😂

@Czar_Khastik Tbh if your time is limited, there is no shame in sticking to recaps and hitting up the newer games. I do suggest playing 1 before Infinite Wealth though. Seems like it’s going to be a full circle tie-in with that. As long as you listen to a good recap, you’ll still enjoy the games. Obviously playing them you’ll get the most out of it. You’ll miss the whacky substories and what not. But yeah, I’d do 0, 1, 2 (if you have time go back to it since it’s so great), 3 (recap), 4 (recap), 5 (recap), 6 (must play), 7 (must play), Gaiden (must play) then Infinite Wealth/

I’m waiting on Part 1 on the PS5 to hit PS+ before I replay them both. Or I may even wait until Part 3 is inevitably announced. Too many games coming out to focus on a rerelease

Wo Long despite it being incredibly buggy. I just played Lies of P before Wo Long and have to say, LoP is a far superior experience IMO. But I’m having fun with Wo Long anyways as I wait for LAD: Infinite Wealth

Good. It was a terrible idea to begin with. There was way too much that was omitted in the games that didn’t make the cut over that episode. 1 episode was more than enough

I wonder if the next FF will go back to its turn base roots or stay action-focused. My bet is stay action. I wouldn’t mind some FF7R gameplay mechanics incorporated as well. FFXVI was fantastic to me, but a lot of people’s complaints like the basic equipment system, barebone inventories, lackluster side quests, etc are valid. Hopefully whoever helms FFXVII learns from both FF7R & FFXVI since they have great qualities

For anyone who’s played the demo, what’s one or two games you’d compare it to? Thinking about trying the demo soon if it’s up my alley. I know nothing about this franchise but it looks cool

Replaying FF7R’s chapters 15 through 18 on Hard Mode to refresh me on the story before FF7 Rebirth comes out. I’ll have no time once LAD: Infinite Wealth & Persona 3 Reload launch, so it’s best to fit it in now. Us JRPG fans are spoiled rotten in 2024 😎😎

Tfw last weekend I was on the verge of driving to a store and picking up a brand new DualSense. Decided to wait and suffer through until the silver DualSense comes out. I’ve been having random drifting issues with my right analog stick. So it spins the map around crazy which is obviously annoying

Now, I have no clue what to do. I run a two controller set up with the charging station. Not including my GoW one that I only use on “special” games. Ugh, this sounds right up my alley but I’m sure it won’t be out for a long time

Quality over quantity. If you make a baller (doesn’t have to include balls) & marketable game, people will flock to it.

AI will keep muddying the waters in gaming for years to come in terms to voice acting. First it’ll start with quest giver NPCs, then they’ll gradually expand AI’s role. VAs better read their contracts over carefully (if they don’t already) or some companies will push the boundaries as far as they can go for likeness

@PegasusActual93 exactly. The episode was fine. Unless the premise is absolutely amazing (it won’t be), I’d rather them explore other characters. TLOU has so many potential untold stories.

They got a whole episode dedicated to these extremely minor characters in the first game. I think that’s enough IMO. I’d rather them make a spin off with more relevant characters in the games if it’s returning characters. Just my take tho

I tried to get into it once. Got a bit overwhelmed with the Hogwarts map. That’s more of a “me” issue than the game’s issue. But I’ll try again eventually!

Just completed my two playthroughs of Lies of P. Now I’m just relaxing and starting Dragon Quest XI Definitive Edition. I was up to the frozen lady thingy on the original one years ago. Thought I’d start fresh and try to catch up!

In-between, I may either replay FF7R or LAD 7. Or, potentially finish Sekiro (I’m still on the Demon of Hatred). Orrrr, start Wo Long or Nioh Remastered

Man, I still haven’t beat One Piece Odyssey despite loving it. Got through Alabasta but then started going through all the Yakuza games until I caught up. So, I haven’t gotten back to it yet.

I think 2024 will blow 2023 out of the water but that’s just me. It was a pretty great year though!

It’s a really solid month. But it just sucks that I bought & platinum’ed it recently. Can’t win them all they say!

FFXVI not here pretty much invalidates the list to me. Its music is phenomenal. Just bizarre but oh well

Still have to get to Cyberpunk’s DLC. Kinda bummed there wasn’t a new trophy list (after platinum’ing it on PS5) on the new complete edition since there was a big boss and gameplay overhauls. I would’ve bought that in a heartbeat. I’ll get to it eventually.

My vote is for Horizon. The end boss fight is absolutely phenomenal. One of the best in recent memory IMO

Just started playing last night (Christmas). Already beat Fuoco (heard he was hard but I beat him first try surprisingly). Tbh I feel like it’s so much easier than Sekiro or Bloodborne. I’m defined as trash at Soulsborne games and hope this one gets tougher. The only deaths I’ve had were caused by extremely, extremely, extremely stupid and shameful decision-making by me. But, I do love the atmosphere so far. I think there’s a lot of potential here

Awesome to see it make the overall top 10. Bought it for $20ish on a GameStop deal a month ago. Haven’t gotten to it since I’ve played LAD Gaiden, A Plague Tale Requiem. Persona 5 Tactica and GrimGrimoire OnceMore. Might start prioritizing it now. Glad people like it

This and Infinite Wealth are my two most anticipated games. That’s not even including Persona 3 Reload. But FF7 Rebirth takes my #1 spot. Wish the cover was something other than just flames and Cloud & Sephiroth. But I’ll take anything FF7 at this point

I doubt we’ll ever get a trilogy where choices extensively carry over like the Mass Effect team pulled off. I only first played it with the Legendary Edition but couldn’t imagine how amazing it would’ve been during the PS3 era.

Persona 5 Tactica. Yes, the story isn’t revolutionary or anything. But it’s a whole lot of fun IMO. Worth a try if you like Persons 5

I’m more interested in hearing what the 1+ new games will be. Most likely one is TLOU Part 3. Wouldn’t be surprised if the other(s) is a new IP

@FantasyExplor3r88 this is what I want: the trilogy on the modern system. I tried to stream the first God of War game via PS + but it was so laggy. I just want to play them from the beginning whether it’s a remake, remaster or whatever

I am a huge Harry Potter fan but for the life of me couldn’t get into Hogwarts Legacy. Still bought and supported it. But I felt really overwhelmed with the Hogwarts map right off the bat. Probably just a me thing. I’ll eventually go back to it and I’m sure I’ll love it

I voted mostly for FFXVI, Spidey 2, Octopath Traveler 2 & Resi 4. I wanted to give some games that didn’t win much at TGA. Can’t remember if RE4 won anything but yolo

The only other tie-in that makes a ton of sense to me is a prequel game with Cid. It would be cool I bet but it’s really not necessary.

If it’s actually an epilogue, that sounds like enough reason to redownload it

I’m actually pleasantly surprised they went with the roguelike for this DLC. It’s something fresher than just giving us more of the same. I’m all for it. Don’t know when I’ll play it but I will get to it 😎😎

I cannot wait for this game to come out. It’s more than likely going to consume at minimum two to three weeks of gaming time for me. Infinite Wealth has the makings to be amazing. Now, let’s hope the story is amazing.

I’m usually very happy with the line-ups. But, for (I think) at least the last three months, I’ve not been excited for the games. That doesn’t mean there aren’t good games there. Not for me though. I can see the appeal to some players’ tastes!

I’ve been pretty pleased with Extra… usually. Premium needs to step up and add downloading for all PS3 games. I tried to stream God of War (first one) and it was so difficult with the lagging. The timing on button pushing was off so much I couldn’t get far into the game. I was so bummed because I wanted to play the trilogy so badly 😭😭 Tried to stream a couple Ratchet & Clank games and again, it was very difficult to play. I do believe part of this is my Internet’s fault. But nonetheless, we should be able to download these games IMO!! End of my rant haha
