Then they should have increased the price when the value had increased, not the other way around... I'm not paying for a hypothetical value increase. That's not good, do they think I'm stupid? I'm glad more and more every day I let my sub lapse.
I play online on PC now, or even Xbox. Places that have GREAT customer support and where I can get a refund on my digital games, and have infrastructure and sales that are just as good. I'm not paying MORE for something worse. Get real Sony.
You won't stop third parties from making knock off drives, if anything this security measure is just to stave off that inevitability. Tech is getting so advanced and so accessible that it's a matter of when, and not if. When will third party drives be available for PS5 slims? Who knows, but if it's a popular add on, and of Sony ceases support for it, some other entity will pick it up, maybe even just bypassing Sony's measures with software, and you could just use any Blu-ray drive. Who knows what the future holds?
I had a couple. Most notably: slow motion indefinitely, and a lot of my suits turning a placeholder white block. Both of those bugs could be worked around by restarting the checkpoint, and I could not reproduce them.
I finished it on Sunday. Took me two days to do it, along with the bulk of the side content, I think I pretty did everything for Peter, and I was working on Miles, but I really didn't like the couple Vision's Academy missions I did, so I put that on the back burner for things I did like.
It's a spectacular game. I wasn't hyped for it before it released, but hhhhhhhooooooo maaaan!... There were some hype af moments in the game. I may not always be hyped for every game Insomniac puts out, but I do end up buying and loving most of them.
I don't think I've ever beaten two games in a single weekend before. So I guess I'm gonna hang my gamer hat up. You win again Sakurai-san.
@Northern_munkey Crossplay was enabled for PC and console, but not console to console.
Yeah take your time with it. If you don't use a guide...you will have no choice but to. I didn't use a guide either, but I wish I did. And on the plus side of that, the game seems like it will only get better as the devs work on it, so I might be there with you in FINALLY loving it once you're done. Lol
I don't really have the perspective to say what I think is the worse performing game I think. I played on Xbox Series X, and oh man...it was really really bad. Textures wouldn't load in, and the game would struggle to maintain 30FPS in performance mode due to the game being launched on that platform without the day one patch. To the devs credit, they were able to get the patch issued a few hours later.
On PC, the game is weirdly optimized. There's no option to choose what kind of DLSS to use, there's no option to outright turn off raytracing, and the game doesn't support Frame Generation. It is still unstable, but playable on my rig at about 70 - 90 FPS, and even locked at 60 it will not maintain that, so something is wrong there. It is a looker of a game for sure though; on PC I don't know what looks better this or Lies of P.
Hope you enjoy the upcoming weekend, and hope the weather is golf appropriate as well!
This is just blatantly against the rules. Lol Ruins the spirit of the game, is financially dubious due to rampant scamming, and if you're caught...you will be banned.
But I guess you can buy a new copy with the money you made selling Diablo 4 legendaries you duplicated. At least they're gonna be able to fix it, unlike poor Bethesda not knowing how to stop players getting into the QA Smoke test room lmao
@Northern_munkey Pilgrims Perch is very early in the game. I was still enjoying the game at that point a lot, and aside from some VERY weirdly placed enemies (not talking enemies that are inconvenient or anything like that, I'm talking about an enemy that is an actual miniboss a little bit later in the game that's absurdly close to an important NPC) Pilgrim' Perch was a good area.
The performance gets worse and worse, with the worst of it being the final two areas. My PC did not like those areas, and I have a great rig.
I really wanna hear your opinion once you've beaten it. That's either when people decide they loved the game despite its faults, or really just hated it and wants it to change.
I'm totally open to CIG winning me back. They are making a great start!
I will not be picking this up. My PC versions are seemingly more than fine; this collection seems like a rip-off to be honest, at least on PC, and on GOG a lot of the games even have features that were taken out of this collection, like support for different aspect ratios and simplified saving for MGS1.
Not into it Konami. Now if you got MGS4 running on current gen... I'd pay full price for it in a collection for sure.
@Northern_munkey Just curious. How far are you in the game? I don't want to spoil anything for you, because you are enjoying it, and I was too earlier in the game, but this game needed and needs the harsh criticism, and I'm glad the devs are taking the time to address, because it needs it.
Also, you might think the performance is decent, and good on you it might be on PS, but having played it on Xbox and then PC. Xbox was abysmal, and PC isn't without its issues.
Simple fix, for a simple mistake. I didn't actually notice this bug, but this is one of the reasons why diversity is important in QA. I wouldn't have noticed it, I'm not Puerto Rican and I'm not familiar with their culture at all, but if a Puerto Rican or Cuban flag was in the apartment and a Mexican flag was meant to be there instead, I'd have totally noticed. Noticed stuff like that before.
Diviserty of thought, culture, ideas, and opinions are great for our industry.
@Logonogo Because I really wanted to like it, and I bought it. And for a lot of Souls-like games I usually say I hate this game at least 4 or 5 times, but it's usually just in the moment. In Lords of the Fallen, it's like...yeah I hate this game Umbral Realm is annoying and unfun, enemy density is way too much, enemies follow you to the ends of the earth, the bosses kinda suck, and the level design is confusing with a lot of pointless checkpoints.
I'm probably gonna give it another shot just because it had a new update that addresses most of my concerns too.
The final area. REALLY sucks. It's designed to be played in co-op I feel, or just designed to be ran through. I think they fixed it in regular new game, and they've even added a setting to NG+ where you can just play the game over again without the game being harder. Which is fantastic for completing your quests. When the devs take time to incorporate feedback into a game, and feedback that they didn't seem to want to take either at that, it makes me root for them as well.
No idea how so many people enjoyed this game, but good for them and the devs. They worked hard on it, but after finishing it and going through about half of it again on NG+. I stand by my opinion that, I hate this game, but despite the still lingering performance issues (especially on Xbox) a lot of passion and talent went into this game!
Wish I even just barely liked it, but it does look like it's being patched and a lot of my issues with it are being addressed. Most notably enemy density! The game literally turns into Dynasty Warriors, but you take 4 hits at the end. I ran through everything. Really not fun at all.
Wrapper? Like physical wrapper, or UI at the start screen? Is that a wrapper? I think I'm probably just tired, but mega I'm confused as to what that means. I'm assuming it's the UI that "wraps" every game together, I don't have a copy so I'm just assuming. Lol
I guess it's petty, but everyone is still credited in each game, so...idk doesn't seem like too big a deal. It is pretty petty, but also...it's so petty that I both don't really care, and think it's kinda funny they'd do this little thing just to slight Kojima.
I personally am thinking they're just not wanting to record a whole ass other video for credits. As anyone that has worked on them can tell you...it's actually not that simple to get credits up and running, it's an actual video file they put in the game most of the time, and it's kind of a pain to re-record, and who knows if their names are still the same? People could have gotten married, divorced, just changed their name.
I bet it's more to do with "laziness" than maliciousness.
I just love how earnest and passionate Chinese devs are lately. I really hope this game is "real" lol, and I hope their project turns out. It's so amazing to see China flourish in this industry lately! Got a lot of cool ideas in this game; can't wait to see if they are executed well!
@steizgr8 No problem! It still works too, so it's safe to say it's a feature! Just make sure after Aegis lets loose its explosion you press L2 again to bring the shield back up, and then start mashing L1 to parry. It's kinda painful for my fingers, but it's a useful tool to make boss fights go a LOT smoother, and I'm all about that gamer claw anyway.
@Elodin You're welcome! Spiderman is gonna be good, no doubt about it. I'm not even all that hyped for it, but I'm still getting it day one. It's just a safe bet for a great and fun game.
@Saltborne Nah, I just went full on Technique for that beeg damage.
Perfect parry is tough, but there's a cool trick to make it easier. Equip the aegis shield, block with it, and then mash the parry button. It eats a lot of Legion off of it, but it's a guaranteed perfect parry.
I hope it wasn't a bug. I'd have actually have had to learn the perfect parry to beat the game if not for the Aegis shield.
@Saltborne I didn't really have too much trouble with most of the bosses. There were only three in the game that gave me a really hard time.
Andreas, The Rabbit Brothers, and the final boss (That is Melania or Sword Saint Isshin levels of difficult).
I had more trouble with the clown robot before the manor than most of the bosses. F*** that stupid thing forever.
I do think Motivity is underpowered by a bit though. I went through everything bonking my way through the game, but the final boss I caved and switched to Techinque and Korean sworded my way to victory.
@Elodin Having played and beaten both, I would definitely recommend waiting on Lords of the Fallen as well (I absolutely adore Lies of P, but if you're not feeling it you're not feeling it)
The performance is absolutely abysmal and really needs a patch or two. On console, before I played through the game on PC, the textures were so low poly they looked like PS3 graphics. Not even kidding, and it still isn't really fixed. I bought the game on Xbox, and luckily was able to get a refund, but on PS you will not get a refund.
Also, Lords of the Fallen is not one of those souls games where you get lost in and wind up at a bonfire. It's just one of those games where you get lost, it's a "where the **** do I go?" kinda game. You spend most of each level trying to find a key to open a door, so you can fight a really mediocre boss, and then touch a beam of light, so you can figure out how to do that same thing 5 more times.
The review on this site says that the Umbral Realm mechanic elevates the game. I very much disagree. It just adds really bad pre-Elden Ring platforming with endlessly respawning enemies, of which there is no variety at all after a few hours in. It's admittedly pretty neat that you transition between realms "seamlessly" (if you don't count the hitching that happens when the game decides it wants to spawn a bunch of zombies).
This game is charging AAA price for a game that's nowhere close to being AAA. I'd even go as far as to say this game sucks. The visuals on PC, and the overall aesthetic kept me playing until the end, but I'm not gonna play this game again until patches or mods. It was rough even on my 4070TI rig.
Played a bit of Lords of the Fallen. Refunded it. That game is not ready for release. I'll try again in a few months and it get it discounted somewhere.
My brother decided to buy this game against me advising him not to, and I've played about half of it. I give it a 6 so far with it possibly going down to a 5. Average AAA junkfood, but still a quality made product. Overall it's fun.
Stealth is pretty good, story is pretty good, parkour is mid, and combat is absolute cheeks. Combat feels so awful in this game, I get you're meant to be more stealthy, but the choice to STILL use the Origin combat mechanics and have enemies have no reactions from your light attacks, so you just basically wait for parries just feels really bad. It feels worse than the older games if I'm being honest. I hate the combat in this game.
@z0d15g0d I must have spent 100's of dollars on Virtua Fighter at my arcade... I remember the walk of shame back to my mom or nana for another 5 as a kid. I'd play 20 more mins, and spend the rest of my time looking for quarters under the cabinets. Lol
Never felt bad about gacha mechanics. It's just a type of game, and the game gives out a lot of freebies, so I'm not at all fussed.
@ATaco Arcade machines have been a thing since gaming has been a thing. Most of those old ones are the biggest scams ever when looked at from an opportunity cost metric.
You could easily spend 10 - 20 bucks in the 90s in 30 mins to an hour. When you account inflation that is straight up robbery. I'll take take DLC and Gacha any day, all day, every day. I don't need to constantly pump quarters in to play the damn game, only for the stupid thing to just cheat me out of a life or continue.
I'm not that old, I'm in my 30's, but video games aren't as much or as less of a scam as they've ever had the potential to be. If I had to choose between an optional battle pass or DLC being in my game, or getting tricked into buying anything by LJN, I'd rather every game have DLC.
@z0d15g0d Yeah, this is one of those games where the grind is a core part of the game. You can't really buy your way out of it either, the game is monetized mostly around the gacha and the battle pass, and any other packs seem like they're there just to be bad value, so you buy the Battle Pass instead.
It's pretty satisfying to build your teams from scratch, after weeks of farming usable gear, and the endgame content really justifies the grind unlike Genshin.
I don't remember grinding at all for story content though. If I was very casual, I can maybe see myself needing to grind a little for Phantylia, but she's not THAT hard in the story. The game gives you quite a bit of exp boxes and credits to level up characters, but it doesn't give you talent mats, so I bet if anything you'd just need to grind for those for a little bit.
Blizzard's games have WORSE monetization than straight up Activision games. Very poor value indeed. If you're outraged by this, then show it by uninstalling the game, and not just by not buying the bundle. You have to get out of their ecosystem and put that time into something else.
If you can't. You're not really all that outraged, or your addiction outweighs it, and if that's the case I'd implore you to quit based on the fact you're addicted to a video game and it is to your immense detriment.
@Ainu20 We don't, it will just be easier to do. You could have AI essentially make that whole game, it's just charts running along side music basically. All that's left is UI, and animation, and QA?
@z0d15g0d Herta is sadly, always been mid. I'm glad I did not waste resources on her...although I might just to make a Himeko extra attack team. I think a double dose of mid can make a good team...maybe...
I love Sampo, and I'm a Kafka enjoyed, but DoT isn't for everyone. It is really fun if you're a Welt Haver tho, although I think everything is more fun when you're a Welt haver!
But yes! Leaks can give you a pretty good idea of a unit before it is officially announced, usually, those units stay very similar to how they are in testing. Looks like Harmony TB is going to be Break Effect centric with a lot of buffs for Break Effect, which I'm all for as that mechanic could use some love along with Follow-up Attack. Jingus has been carrying that niche for a while now, and he only manages to do so with the help of his Light Cone.
@homelesscretin I think maybe the Gaunt's Ghosts series! It's written in such a way that sci-fi fans can just jump in like any other sci-fi book series and enjoy it.
There's so SO much going on in 40K... It's a genre in and of itself.
@homelesscretin If you can get some good friends together, with a couple pizzas, some beers, some good music, it's a blast. There's nothing like, spending an hour trying to break down a solid brick wall because the party doesn't want to take a fork in the road, so the Game Master finally relents and has it fall on top of someone. Wounding them.
@z0d15g0d It's a leak rn (pretty credible leaks too), but the Harmony path should be coming out around the same time the Penacony world update comes out, I'm assuming. Specifics can still change, but the path is already in testing phase if it's been leaked already.
I like looking at leaks in this game. I think they're helpful in budgeting my Jades and prefarming.
Tip for gacha: try and pull Jingliu, and then save for Silverwolf. Don't sleep on the Trailblazer, on Preservation, they are one of the best characters in the game, especially if you don't have Gepard, and when they get their Harmony path they will be even stronger.
Don't sleep on a lot of the 4-Stars. March is amazing, Pela is sometimes necessary, Tingyun and Yukong are SSS tier supports, Natasha might be your only healer for a while, but she is still really good as she can cleanse debuffs and has great survivability.
But above all else, just have fun. If you're just starting, you don't need to worry about much, as long as you've got a healer. You can just run what's fun, and luckily, most of the characters are pretty fun.
@homelesscretin Warhammer 40K Darktide just got a HUGE update that has made the game actually good. I think that's the best place to start to get your foot in the door, you get acquainted with Nergel Heresy, the Inquisition, and the atmosphere of the 40K universe. That's only on PC and Xbox rn tho.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is also a great place to start! It's getting a sequel soon as well, and it's a fun game that can be bought for cheap!
Inquisitor Martyr is pretty decent as far as ARPGs go. It's kinda janky, but still fun. I'd recommend that for around 10 bucks rn.
Honestly, how I got into it was the Dark Heresy tabletop. I had to do a lot of research to create my Psyker Inquisitor Gunnar Harloke, and playing that character for a few months really got me invested into the lore, especially after being "tricked" into a Slaanesh ritual at an inn. Luckily, no one but me knew about it, so I wasn't summarily executed by our Commisar player. Lmao
It's such a fun universe, and there's a LOT of similarities with Honkai Star Rail and 40K. I'm not just saying that. Especially how the Aeons are portrayed in HSR, they are anime versions of the 40K daemon princes.
The narrative is overwritten at times, but it is a major improvement to Genshin's. Genshin had a whole companion mission dedicated to finding tax forms.... So much fun.
I'll take long winded anime Warhammer 40K any day. Praise the Merciful Medicus! All hail Yaoshi!
Also, pretty good and fair review for one of my favorite games this year. Glad you and many others on Playstation get to enjoy it!
@Pusher2021 Not only that, which is great not many games have that feature (Rainbow Six Vegas did, but Ubisoft doesn't make games like that anymore), but they hunt for you, and the AI simulates looking at the enviroment for disturbances like footprints, broken items, and blood, and on Survivor and up, they won't even go into places that they know you've been before without a buddy, i think there is other things the AI does on the harder difficulties! It's so cool, and I wish they still had that advanced AI in the lower difficulties, but I guess that's the reward for playing on the higher ones.
Great game. Some objectively amazing tech, talent, dedication, and attention to detail on display that just isn't seen much these days in this industry.
@Pusher2021 If the game had better pacing, and dialogue I'd say the game was perfect. It is a raw gem. Combat is...AMAZING though. Playing on Survivor or Grounded, but with some accessibility to make the game not as BS feels so great. The AI is fantastic. Like when Bungie made good games.
@LifeGirl I think I have a niche take on TLOU2, but I didn't get the feeling that the game was trying to justify Abby's existence to the player. I got the feeling that the game's story simply used her to show the devastating consequences that revenge can bring. In the end I just laughed as she lost everything; she brought it all on her self even though she had every opportunity to stop or to just accept the consequences of her actions she didn't and everyone who protected her ended up worse or dead, and they kinda deserved it to, except for Owen, Owen gets a pass.
I don't want to convince you to play it. You can do whatever you want, but I didn't get the impression the game wanted to justify Abby to me. I got the impression it wanted to punish her. Along with everyone else in that game. Joel got off easy. If the TLOU2 is about hate, then that game HATES everyone in that game except Joel.

I just love how earnest and passionate Chinese devs are lately. I really hope this game is "real" lol, and I hope their project turns out. It's so amazing to see China flourish in this industry lately! Got a lot of cool ideas in this game; can't wait to see if they are executed well!
Re: It's True! Lies of P Sales Surpass One Million Units
Cheers!
Re: It's True! Lies of P Sales Surpass One Million Units
@Elodin You're welcome! Spiderman is gonna be good, no doubt about it. I'm not even all that hyped for it, but I'm still getting it day one. It's just a safe bet for a great and fun game.
Re: It's True! Lies of P Sales Surpass One Million Units
Re: It's True! Lies of P Sales Surpass One Million Units
Re: It's True! Lies of P Sales Surpass One Million Units
Re: Secret PS5 Update Makes It Possible to Check for Patches on Games in Your Library
Only took 5 years for what should be a standard feature. Better late than never though.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 498
Played a bit of Lords of the Fallen. Refunded it. That game is not ready for release. I'll try again in a few months and it get it discounted somewhere.
Re: PS5, PS4 Players Will 'Remain Welcome' As Xbox Closes $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Buyout
Finally. It's over. Pretty exciting stuff.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Assassin's Creed Mirage?
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Honkai: Star Rail?
@z0d15g0d I must have spent 100's of dollars on Virtua Fighter at my arcade... I remember the walk of shame back to my mom or nana for another 5 as a kid. I'd play 20 more mins, and spend the rest of my time looking for quarters under the cabinets. Lol
Never felt bad about gacha mechanics. It's just a type of game, and the game gives out a lot of freebies, so I'm not at all fussed.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Honkai: Star Rail?
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Honkai: Star Rail?
I don't really know how, as I went no life right out the gate on Honkai Star Rail. Still loving it, this new Pokémon inspired event is a lot of fun, and the story quest to unlock was very interesting and well written.
Re: PSN Suffered an Enormous Outage Over Night
I was sleeping, but if I wasn't I'd be playing on my PC.
Re: Overwatch 2's Tempting Diablo 4 Skins Trapped Behind Pricey $40 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle
Re: Activision Boss Hints a Guitar Hero Revival Could Be on the Cards
@Ainu20 We don't, it will just be easier to do. You could have AI essentially make that whole game, it's just charts running along side music basically. All that's left is UI, and animation, and QA?
Easy money. You know Bobby loves that.
Re: Honkai: Star Rail Guide: Your Ultimate Walkthrough and Wiki Resource
Re: Honkai: Star Rail (PS5) - Impeccably Executed Live Service Where the Best Is Yet to Come
@homelesscretin I think maybe the Gaunt's Ghosts series! It's written in such a way that sci-fi fans can just jump in like any other sci-fi book series and enjoy it.
There's so SO much going on in 40K... It's a genre in and of itself.
Re: Honkai: Star Rail (PS5) - Impeccably Executed Live Service Where the Best Is Yet to Come
@homelesscretin If you can get some good friends together, with a couple pizzas, some beers, some good music, it's a blast. There's nothing like, spending an hour trying to break down a solid brick wall because the party doesn't want to take a fork in the road, so the Game Master finally relents and has it fall on top of someone. Wounding them.
Great fun!
Re: Honkai: Star Rail Guide: Your Ultimate Walkthrough and Wiki Resource
@z0d15g0d It's a leak rn (pretty credible leaks too), but the Harmony path should be coming out around the same time the Penacony world update comes out, I'm assuming. Specifics can still change, but the path is already in testing phase if it's been leaked already.
I like looking at leaks in this game. I think they're helpful in budgeting my Jades and prefarming.
Re: Honkai: Star Rail Guide: Your Ultimate Walkthrough and Wiki Resource
Re: Honkai: Star Rail (PS5) - Impeccably Executed Live Service Where the Best Is Yet to Come
@homelesscretin Warhammer 40K Darktide just got a HUGE update that has made the game actually good.
Re: Honkai: Star Rail (PS5) - Impeccably Executed Live Service Where the Best Is Yet to Come
The narrative is overwritten at times, but it is a major improvement to Genshin's.
Re: Alt-History RPG The Thaumaturge Would Like to Ask a Few Questions in 2024
Oooooh, this is right up my alley! Could be some alt history early 1900's CRPG goodness! Count me in!
Re: PS Store Ad Suggests The Last of Us 2 May Soon Be Heading to PS Plus
Re: Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue Gets Sadistic 19th October Release on PS5, PS4
@bindiana Enjoy! Those are my absolute favorite visual novel games.
Re: Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue Gets Sadistic 19th October Release on PS5, PS4
@bindiana Danganronpa has an excellent dub, that's how I played those games.
Re: PS Store Ad Suggests The Last of Us 2 May Soon Be Heading to PS Plus
@Pusher2021 If the game had better pacing, and dialogue I'd say the game was perfect. It is a raw gem. Combat is...AMAZING though. Playing on Survivor or Grounded, but with some accessibility to make the game not as BS feels so great. The AI is fantastic. Like when Bungie made good games.
Re: PS Store Ad Suggests The Last of Us 2 May Soon Be Heading to PS Plus

@PegasusActual93 @Perturbator It's just a joke. They obviously aren't the same band!
Or maybe you're obviously not ready for that revelation... >_>
