Re: Dying Light 2 Dev Promises a Whopping 5 Years of Updates and DLC After Release

CrashLanded

@Flaming_Kaiser Ikr?

People need to realize games back in the day were just as complex to develop because technology back then was not nearly as sophisticated and advanced, not to mention it was not as easy to share development and debugging tips on the internet/communicate from faraway as easily.

Not to mention nowadays video games have a much larger market share and video game companies are much bigger with bigger audiences and bigger budgets than before.

I don't see why we need to settle for less now just because, if anything it should be more

Re: Best PS3 Games

Seeing the last of us that high while tools of destruction not even making it, god of war III only at 7, and no inFamous, Sly 4, and PSASBR really makes me question how many people on this site actually had playstations before 4 lol

the steam game ports really solidify that notion

Re: Insomniac Scaled Back Marvel's Spider-Man Boss to Cut Down on Crunch

CrashLanded

This is so misleading

Insomniac, a company infamous for crunch where the Ratchet games even had entire planets made by new interns, now gloating how they are past crunch when they outsource art to lemonskystudios who are infamous for crunching employees to meet deadlines.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-05-13-the-games-industry-just-talked-about-outsourcing-crunch-and-totally-missed-the-point

Be better.

Re: Rumour: Konami Planning Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Castlevania Revivals

@Milktastrophe yes, it has been 7 years, but you have to keep in mind ips like Bomberman and Crash were completely dormant with 0 updates or merch in their dead periods, same for Mega man out sf x tekken and smash

However with castlevania there is the apple arcade mobile game, multiple ports, netflix series, merch, and collab appearances. The IP is hardly dead just because lord of shadows was in 2014. People were calling Castlevania dead even as early as 2018.

@nessisonett

I heard being ignorant and having no personality is a pretty bland life

Literally looking up their QA report, majority of their profits is PES and Yu-gi-oh

I am sure you didn't know Konami has made console games before covid-19 for a good while but you wouldn't know because it isn't Castlevania, MGS, Silent Hill, or whatever AAA you heard of but probably don't even actually play

Re: Rumour: Konami Planning Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Castlevania Revivals

This comment chain full of the most bandwagoned takes.

Konami has made pachinko since the early 2000s and people freaking out MGS, Castlevania, and Silent Hill as 'dead' for not having games in a few years despite Konami still selling and co producing content for the above ips.

Where were you people when Konami let all those Hudson IPs not have anything for years upon years?

Ignore how Konami has put out actual games in the past few years to reinforce your pachinko circlejerk and keep eating up the monthly rumor of a revival. It is annoying how parrot-y people are with Konami.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Even More PS5 Marvel Games from Sony?

CrashLanded

No, I'd rather not see Marvel bloat PS exclusives like they did with movies.

Insomniac becoming a Marvel house basically is a recipe for Ratchet to one day be abandoned in favor of superhero games. Again, Spider-Man's ip can survive without Marvel games, Ratchet's ip cannot survive with games from his home studio.

Re: Persona 5 Celebrates Fifth Anniversary with Striking Blood Red Artwork

CrashLanded

What is the need to constantly praise Persona 5 here. It is baby's first JRPG and has one of the most pretentious stories I've ever seen in a video game.

Not to mention essentially giving a full price rerelease like Royal a 10/10 but calling Sonic Colors Ultimate Edition a 6/10

SMT III meanwhile barely gets love despite having a more mature evolved story and gameplay that doesn't hold your hand.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation Showcase 2021 Was Good, But Not Good Enough

CrashLanded

I agree with this article.

It is an aggressively "okay" showcase with only two real exclusive titles we have not particularly seen.

God of War 5 again looks like a dlc for 4 and honestly unappealing. They cannot be bothered to add another weapon even? 4 was already lacking in combat variety with the same 2 weapon. Tired of seeing that dumb axe, give Kratos more of his old weapons back if you can't be bothered for new ideas.

Wolverine, again Marvel fatigue. I don't really care for another solo Wolverine story. What would it be at this point? Alpha Force days? Vendetta with Sabretooth? Going to Japan/fighting Lady Deathstrike? Why not just make an X-Men game, would have more to work with.

Spider-Man 2 looks great and had the most potential of what was shown both narratively and gameplay wise. However that game was expected and not really a shocker to anyone, and 2023 is a while now and who wants to bet it is delayed? And Insomniac becoming a Marvel games studio is just going to make Ratchet games come out with bigger and bigger gaps, I am not asking for PS3 amounts of Ratchet titles but a new Ratchet every 5 years would be lame.

People in the comment sections unable to handle people's disappointment and fanboying over 10 seconds of rendered cutscenes without any sort of criticism is just sad. You are the consumer, Sony isn't going to reward you for defending them.
