Is COD really that a big deal to make Sony act this way, with a 10 year agreement for them to sign.

Surely even now and then after 10 years is up, Sony have enough exclusives and very good developers to be absolutely fine and ok?

I know it’s just not there in that way with each generation as you do also get diminishing returns with technology. Probably similar to the old days when Mobil phones hardware wise made that dramatic change but know they are small increments really.
Anyway I’m playing Metroid Prime remaster, now say compared to HFW graphics wise they are a million miles away, but dam I’m so enjoying Metroid Prime remastered. It’s just so controlled gameplay wise and the world so focused with a bit of exploration and a few collectibles.
Focused, tight and moving forward logically.
Seems a breath of old fresh air for now a days.

This new generation is not all that it is cracked up to be. Most of the power seems to go on trying to push native 4K with 30fps and lower resolution with 60 fps. And to get all that and maybe with raytracing you can’t have extreme masses of detail, textures and level of detail and massive detailed draw distances, something has to give sometimes.
When you have been playing on PS4 Pro and Xbox one x, it doesn’t seem a massive difference overall.
Maybe in the future things will turn up a notch.

The only one difference I have noticed now cost of living wise.
Even with PS5 disc solo consoles in stock, some are buying the digital edition Solo a lot more often than they were.
Maybe the cheaper price.

That’s what stock does for you.
Having top end AAA games.
Knowing how to PR, promote and advertise.

Putting the hybrid console aside. There is nothing stopping PS5 now this generation as long as they keep them games coming and very good stock.

UK stock is very good right now in shop as well.
Even solo disc console readily available.
As for our friend @4kgk2. Very optimistic and maybe for good reason.
But our PS5 solo disc stock went quick for the first 10 units but stopped now for a bit we have had 5 for a good week.

Everyone forgets the average family in UK and elsewhere I guess is facing even higher costs of living. Electric going up here again in April and less help, interest rates just gone up again to 4%.
Food etc still rising costs.
Everyone on here seems to forget all this.
I think all console suppliers need to think about this and people on here thinking massive amounts will be sold now.

Let’s not forget the PS4 is tracking sales to date time frame from release 5.45 million units ahead of the PS5.
The cost of living maybe causing this as well.

It’s all business and corrupt as always.
Then it’s us average people that suffer the most and end up paying for it.
The tax dodge is set up by governments to get companies to set up in their countries as well.

There are many companies including oil, petrol, gas and electric that are legal criminals right now taking massive advantage and making record profits over all this.

And governments do nothing because that is where their investments and interests are personally. And who they get electoral backing from.
This includes all countries like UK and USA.

Let’s see what happens and see if PS5 catches PS4 up.
There is very good supply in the UK even of solo disc editions so it should do.

But don’t forget money is getting tighter and tighter as the year goes on.
Higher electric bills come April and less government help. Interest rates just gone up to 4%,food rising still.
There are tough times ahead this year.

But if they wish and they get ABK the super rich company will get you in the end somehow.

Absolutely competition is always good.

Sonys PR and public awareness is second to none or there with Nintendos.
They do an amazing job in that department and also releasing some truly amazing first party AAA games.

In fairness they have at the moment managed to ride in my opinion some not so popular decisions, console and price increases and also not matching the value of game pass.
Especially the start of this year with some big third party release coming to game pass, day one.
Atomic Heart, Wo Long and life of Pi.

It will be very interesting as the years roll on how this all ends up and of course with whole ABK purchase thing.
Of course PS5 will outsell Xbox worldwide by the end of the generation, I would be amazed if they didn’t.

Microsoft are now again playing catch up of course, they need more very good exclusive AAA games and also need to get their own PR act together and become general public trendy again like in the 360 days.

In my own opinion Microsoft made the better console overall and also gave it a couple of nice system items that are useful.
But we all know games sell consoles and game pass and I think they are getting that slowly into the minds at Microsoft finally.

Always Sony less for more cost.

Hope it is a great game and being on game pass is a bonus as well.
If Wo Long is great as well that will be 2 big GP games for early 2023. And it does need them for sure.

Not sure what the total investment/costs to produce the game are. But how does the developer make any money out of this, if it sells poor.
Don’t they like go bust or close down.

Played the demo was ok, not as fluid as I thought the whole climbing and moving process would be.
Very generic overall a no buy for me.
And the reviews sort of some it, even if a little harsh overall.

Light gun games and the PS3 with camera and move controller and light gun attachment were the pinnacle of home games like this.
Had about four games that used it and it was great fun for short blasts.

Pirate game
Time crysis etc.

Wow that is the first time since the release of the PS5 we haven’t sold one in a single day, PS5 Solo disc edition. (10 in store stock).
Don’t get me wrong it happens loads with Switch and Xbox, so nothing special.
I guess it had to happen one day.
Also it’s that time of year after Christmas and before pay day in January.

Yes my local has 10 GOWR disc bundles and 5 disc solo PS5 console. Though the solo sells out quick still, but nowhere as quick as say mid 2022.
It take us about 2 weeks to sell 15 PS5 disc solo now instead of one day, in mid 2022.

Series s and x you could build a castle with the amount of those we have, slow selling.

Switch, always have lots of various Switch models but they sell well at a steady pace.
Switch will get a boast when the BOTW2 special edition console releases in May.

PSVR2 is a bit niche I’m not getting one.

I see it 2023 like this:

Nintendo only have to go here’s BOTW2 GOTY 2023 a bit of good PR and special console.
Mario movie out and Pikmin 4 and that probably the best selling console of 2023 wrapped up.

Sony go here’s PSVR2 I know niche but it’s their PR that gets the brand noticed and their you go have Spider man 2 for end of 2023, bring it on, maybe pip Nintendo to best selling console.

Here come Microsoft, ok yes we have this Xbox thing and game pass, we doing much PR this year, we gonna release top AAA games, er well let’s have a few high profile meetings then fanny around for a bit, maybe see how our studios are doing, let the other two get an amazing head start to the year 2023, then we might do something.
Let’s have another meeting instead 😂😂😂

See I can’t vouch for the USA and stick with the UK. Actually the UK does extremely well for all the consoles, sometimes the PS5 can be harder to find.
It’s does make me laugh how Xbox series s and x is in stock in its thousands in the UK but the USA as you say it isn’t in stock.
To me that is poor console distribution by Microsoft and shows their lack of focus internally all round.

Don’t you find it funny especially in the UK when the PS5 isn’t the top selling console for the week, month or year the brigade appear claiming no stock. Then I find some in seconds online and in store. Solo disc and GOWR bundles Funny that isn’t it. Thing is I can’t lie as these people can go check at the stores I say they are in stock.
Especially Smyths Toys UK. You can look if you want. In store and home delivery. It is simple to get a PS5 in the UK, which is good for the consumer of course and the console.

I meant it more it’s a mystery to me how on here and other sites people say it is out of stock in the UK can’t find a PS5 and within 1 minute of searching on the internet I find some in store and online for home delivery.
Perhaps if people new how to use the internet they might find stock.
You could say I’m being helpful by letting those people that can’t find stock telling them exactly where there is some and at what stores.

That is becoming a mystery now about PS5 not being in stock, in the run up to Christmas and right now GAME UK have stock and so do Smyths toys.
Argos a bit on and off with stock.
I purchased two disc ones over the late Christmas period and can buy one right now.
I think PS5 stock issues are sort of over now.

Yeah the usual place, not really sure of any numbers now a days.
It’s was more a bit of fun.
I think the UK 20 thousand difference for year 2022 between all three maybe correct as that is from the UK real figures. But the UK has always been probably the only country in Europe where all three systems sell around equally, we a bit universal like that in the UK 😂 and probably good multi console owners as well.

But so wish Elden Ring had a lower difficulty setting available.

Not for me now:
Lower battery life
No thumb stick tension changing, say like the Xbox elite controller for example that has three different thumb stick tension ranges you can adjust to.
Was surprised Sony left that out.
But then again Sony as a business do a love a bit of less for more cost.

It can be easy be an issue.
One port is taken by earc if you want to connect to sound bar etc that way.
That then leaves you one hdmi 2:1 port for say PS5. If you have a series x you have no other full hdmi 2:1 port.
Hence my purchase of the LG C2 this year and not the Sony A80K. All four ports hdmi 2:1.
Hence Sonys massive decline in the tv market to LG and Samsung over the years.
I was always a Sony tv man until they started not supply the right connections and set up.

Their TVs should finally catch up feature wise with LGs instead of half measures.
Reason, the chip manufacturer they use has released the new T1000 chip that does 4 HDMI at 2.1 also with all features capable at once like Dolby Vision and 120hz etc.
For reference LG and Samsung make their own control chip hence they are ahead of the game over Sony on the TV front and with updates.
