Looks good so far. Almost carbon copy music of Mass effect at the beginning, works for me. My only complaint, from a alpha trailer that is, was the MCs eyes. They seemed off or maybe too glossy? I'm sure I'd get used to it.
It's too bad. I enjoyed Tina Tina quite a bit. While it didn't jump too far from BG3 style, it did have a few unique twists. It also had a few chuckling D&D references.
I have been enjoying it. I'm a big fan of owlcat, knowing they have a lot of jank at the beginning of their releases, but are committed to improving thier games. As an avid D&D player, I do enjoy the fantasy settings a bit more The lore of 40k is quite interesting and I've only dabled in Some tabletop. I havnt finished it yet, but I am having fun so far.
This is a nice addition. I am most looking forward to being able to carry guns up ladders. Was a lost art in the future and they learned probably by a freak accident. Maybe they always had a jedi at the top using the force to bring the weapons up. Honestly I'm glad they are putting the work in to fix a star wars game. I'll get back to it after this upcoming patch.
Mods brought me back for sure. Though I would have come back at some point, just not this soon. Mods can completely change the game and add many more playthroughs. Hope more games add Mods for consoles
Not a fan of the modern day, however it would be fun to use it to reveal a whole new game where you step outside the room with the capsule and now your playing deus ex or cyberpunk like game.
@naruball true. I don't understand their decision in Japan, but I also know little of Japan's economics and ties to Nintendo. In general though competition does affect business decisions, otherwise we wouldn't have laws against monopolies.
Just to clarify the way you state cash rewards sounds inaccurate. Cash rewards implies that cash can be given and spent freely by the account owner anywhere. To be more accurate it would be better to state store credit as a reward, as this implies that the credit earned can only be spent on the stores website vs anywhere. When I first read the article, I thought I have never been given the option for cash rewards, but then noticed you meant store credit.
Wow! So many great games. Im Sure a few will push into 2026, but still a great amount. I'd pay full price a third of these, a small sale on most and a few id play for free. Only couple I won't play are the group games as I mainly play solo or with randoms if groups.
The poll seems about right, being a Playstation fan website I can see polls being a bit lower for buying one with the avg. Crowd. I won't be buying one. Ps5 is suiting my needs. I think I'm good until mid ps6 cycle as long as games keep coming for base ps5.
As a few have stated, Without closer competition, Sony can easily keep it's prices higher. However a $700 console is not horrendous. I recently researched decent PC builds and a comparable $1200 up to $2100. Those are not high end. Sadly the days of cheap gaming may be coming to an end unless you go mobile.
I believe Sony really wants to be Apple and this price point is a test. Can they offer high priced hardware and still get the buy in? I think they might.
Too expense for what I want. The main reason I jumped so quickly to ps5 was for loading times. I have that and while impressive specs, something I won't upgrade too until the ps6...unless GTA 6 runs like crap on base ps5 then I might consider the ps5 pro my ps6.
Excited to play MLB. I'm terrible at these games, but still enjoy it. No matter what view I choose for the batting view I still can't read the pitch well enough. I see if I can take my Brewers to the lead in the division like they are now.
The screen shake is an issue, as was Black Desert Online. I played a decent amount of BDO and got used to the screen shake where after awhile I barley noticed it. The issue I had with BDO was the crazy amount of pop in. Now that was on ps4, but clips I've seen of BDO on ps5 did the same. Hopefully that is much less in Crimson Desert. I am looking forward to it.
Doing a 3rd playthrough at the moment. I'm going with a Dwarf monk named Kwai-Chang Caine, seeking to find balance in the area. Although he is having trouble being smitten with Laezel. Also in my group is Shadowheart switched to Life Cleric and currently Gale, but may go Halsen as I've used Gale everytime. Waiting for the new patch to go Dark urge for my 4th.
I'm having a great time with this game. I'm currently in the middle of it I believe. I really like role playing the wandering ronin in my head. I rarely go to a main story mission unless I stumble across one. Being as easy as it is and the fun wandering make it a great chill game for me. Glad others are at least able to try it and see if they like it.
@JuiceboxMeister I have the ps4 disc version. I have to put it in everytime to play on my ps5 and play it upgraded. I would love the discless version, but im afraid of the issue your describing.
@vikramsingh if you have played pen and paper d&d games it helps. If not the learning curve is higher. The simplest way is to watch beginner guides on YouTube. That way you will avoid pitfalls or wondering why something doesn't work. The nice thing is you can set many variables to easy in difficulty settings. That way as you slowly learn the systems and can increase the difficulty as you get more comfortable with the systems. I recommend playing turn based instead of live action with pause. It gives you time to see what is happening and how best to use all the magic/items at your disposal. I recommend the angel mythic path for your first playthough as it seems the story was most meant for that choice. Once again youtube guides can help you there. A big difference between pathfinder wotr and bg3 is bg3 stops leveling. Pathfinder you can get into god like powers, especially with the mythic paths. It is all part of the story. It makes sense in game as your taking on strong demons. There is also 2 parts to the game. The large overview map where you have battles vs demons with armies to unlock paths and then just your main group which is more traditional. I recommend having auto for your play through for the large army battles. It keeps it simple and the ai does a decent enough job. Hopes some of this helps feel free to ask for more specifics.
Anyone who will be playing Pathfinder Wraith of the Righteous and has questions, I'd be happy to help. I have put many many hours into the game and am very familiar with Pathfinder rules. It is less forgiving than BG3, but still a great game.
Sad to see spell force leave. I tried it for a bit, but the controls were a bit wonky and I didn't have the patience for it at the time. It looked like a fun game though. Maybe ill buy it on a cheap sale.
I agree with the annoying zooming to the end on missions. At least they make you stop a couple times before moving on. Also partly my fault as im terrible with the grappling rope. Game is fun for a 20 min run though. Will keep playing as a casual game.
Still enjoying it as a casual play. It might be my new goto for a quick 20 min game play. It has been a long time for me with Star Wars Battlefront 2 as that type of game. This seems to fill that adequately.
I'm enjoying it. I like the feel of the guns. I'm sure ill drop it when the story ends. The fact that I can play it solo and/or easy to find pop in groups is fun. And it's free. I'd give it a 6.
For BG3 fans Pathfinder Wraith of the righteous is a great game! Remnant 2 is also great, even fun solo. I own both of those, but I'm also excited for bannerlord mount and blade
Enjoying it quite a bit. The gunplay and haptic feedback are excellent. Will see if the leveling slows down and other descendents are hard to get after Bunny. For free no need to complain.
Tried playing, server down. I'll try again today. I usually give these a shot if it's fun solo and I drop them at endgame content as that usually need groups.

Re: Veteran Helldivers Called to Arms in Omens of Tyranny PS5, PC Deep Dive
Game has always looked fun, but I dont use a mic and rarely play multi-player. I would buy it in a heartbeat if they had single player with bots.

Re: Revenge of the Savage Planet Brings Colourful Sci-Fi Chaos to PS5, PS4 in May 2025
@Llamageddon I second this! Not enough games have couch co-op any more. I will pick this one up, maybe on a sale if at $70 to start.

My most anticipated game of 2025. I'm hoping for an early in the year release date.

Another reason why competition is important. As Sony seems to own the console market for now, they have little incentive to sweeten the deal for us

Impressive and completed in such a short time
