-People wanted remasters, ports, remakes. They didn't bought Gravity Rush ps4, Medievil, Patapon (MOTHER ******S), etc.
-People want more smallers games, platformers, for PS to be more like Nintendo and you can read all over internet people trashing AstroBot and Horizon because they want GoT2.

This also applies to pc players, people wanted freaking Returnal on pc and it sold like 100k copies lol.

This isn't Sony first rodeo but now there is a difference here, Elden Ring was so hype that even the most basic streamers that only play fortnite and GTA rl talked about it just to be in the hype train and the youtube algorithm. That was one and a half year ago. Sony made a bet and it worked, the game is more valuable now than 2 years ago but I wouldn't expect anything until the ps6, xbox wants to release their console earlier? Make your console the console where the game that people are begging for is. PC players can wait? Nice, as they should. Is that going to sell a lot of consoles? Probably not but the reputation would be high from the beginning and that matters in the stock market.

I love grinding as much as european salary men love farm simulators so this game is for me.

A couple of years ago ps haters used to be around and one of their favorite activities was to enter to every discord xbox/ps news to say how discord "fleeced" sony. Now if you don't remember MS paid Discord to implement on xbox and after some time working together MS tried to buy Discord but Discord refused, couple of weeks after Sony invested in Discord and Discord started to work on a PS implementation in pandemic years completing first the xbox implementation, that's why they were "fleeced".

Wherever those haters are right now they can now rest in peace knowing the implementation is almost over lol.

Probably some new levels to celebrate the 5pro when the time comes. I want a Selene and Helldiver Bots.

The most interesting part is that they say they had conversations for this since the development of the LEGO set, the set released in 2022, let's say talks started in 2020-21, 4 years to make a game that looks that good is a great development cycle. AstroBot was also in development since the ps5 release, another 4 year project, I hope the switch bros buy this game so Sony invests in more smaller projects.

@Mikey856 sales numbers man. When you are working with a franchise is in the best interest of the owner to give you info so you know what makes money and what isn't. It's well know LEGO games sell best on the Switch so Switch is a must, you are already making pc games so pc makes sense and your console is also a must LOL so ps5 is in. Then you have xbox, a console that many studios are skipping on purpose to see if MS offers them a gp deal so they don't lose money porting the game and you also have the ps4 that most of its users are playing online games. Skywalker sold 5 millions (it's star wars after all), if xbox and ps4 had real numbers in the LEGO databases to push for those 5 millions the game would be there but if the data shows whatever number isn't significant enough then you skip them, xbox because is your competition and ps4 because you don't want to release more ps4 games.

@The_Wailing_Doom Sackboy is fun but by the time they made that game Sumo Group was already a thing and 1 billion for it was too much. They paid for insomniac 1/4 of that.

We are a little closer to a timeline where the fantastic Episode 3 game releases on ps4/5 and it has trophies. Quiet good decisions are what keeps the fire going.

All the love to van Dien but Extermination isn't as charming as the movies (or as HellDivers). The best feature of the game is that you can actually play with big squads but if people complained because they had to play with randoms in teams of 4 can't imagine when they are 10 or more lol.
Actually interested if the supposed 100k xbox players wanting HD2 on xbox will buy this just out of spite lol.

Tbh the only thing i'm "tire of" is not getting a full rpg, the rpg elements in their games are great, they have the talent, it's time to make one lol.

Already pre ordered my physical Astro Bot copy and I'm going to preorder LEGO Horizon too. I think is funny how people trash Adventures but also complain about it being on the Switch. If people were able to see beyond f*cking COD and GTA and buy other kind of games Sony wouldn't need the Nintendo Switch to reach the number of copies LEGO expects.

I think Astro Bot has A LOT to win here. It didn't need a crazy budget to use a franchise, it didn't need a crazy development time (4 years) and sony doesn't have any crazy expectations behind it (Returnal sold 500k and it was enough to buy the studio and give them new offices, LEGO Skywalker sold 5 million and obviously LEGO expects similar numbers with Horizon). I believe that if Astro Bot can put Ratchet and Clank type of numbers (between 1 and 2 million) we will see a lot more Asobi in the future. And they may have a chance, Astro Bot was #1 in vg sales on Amazon in many countries.

Also I hope the Switch bros actually buy Adventures, if that works we could have LEGO sets, I'm not a LEGO fan but I have a couple big Star Wars sets and I would love a Thunderjaw set.

It was always strange for me that they decided to put only their Indian studios to make this game, people from India are super talented when it comes to software but Prince of Persia was the face of the company before Assassins, it deserved heavy and experienced development power from the beginning.

He can call names all he wants that won't make better the business, if COD on gamepass doesn't add a substancial number of users to gp that strategy and him are done. Tic tac Spencer LOL.

Nice xbox show but let's be hones if that conference was a PS conference A LOT of people would be saying:

• ANOTHER game with a female protagonist? (there were 4)
• Where are the dates of the games for this year?
• A turn based game?
• More souls like games?
• This is CGI, I don't want CGI!
• Great, more services ...
• MY EXCLUSIVE IN THEIR CONSOLE!!!

Again, it was a good show, I liked a lot of games but people act like they would be fine with it when they would be complaining either way.

The movement and flow of the combos is very Ninja Gaiden so I'm SOLD. It's a chinese developer so the development could last forever buy the fact they are in a tour means they are close, not this year obviously.

The point of exclusivity is to add value to your console and also increase competition, the thing is Nintendo stopped being direct competition to Sony since the wii. The same way people talk about AstroBot saying "It looks great BUT NOT something I would pay for" most Switch users would say the same about games like Returnal or GOW so this move isn't taking any value from your console and has the potential to actually add value.

Between a situation where a pc only user plays this and buys a ps5 and a switch only user doing the same I would bet on the second one. That's why the game won't be on xbox, because xbox IS their competition.

I like the "We're not trying to build a low cost PC" line because it's true, buying a console is more than not having enough money for a pc. People who buy a console should do it because it means something, if that something is being able to play certain games or having the "cool" piece of metal it doesn't matter, any console should be more than a box that runs games.

And I absolutely LOVE the line about that one video with the pc for $500 "better" than a ps5 because is something I thought at the exact moment they specify the parts.

@JackiePriest larian kind of did, series s doesn't have local co op, before that it was a politic of publishing on xbox that both versions had to be equal but they had to fold because BG3 was too big of a game.

I remember playing a lot of Quidditch world cup back in the ps2 so this is really nice.

The ultra violence of TLOU2 should be fun to watch. We live in a world were we have actually good vg adaptations and the most important questions of this new age are who is going to be Kratos? and is Tom Holland going to be Link or not? LOL

@HonestHick it's funny that you say that because A LOT of people with a pc has a ps5 and every time a new ps5 exclusive comes out there is more people buying a ps5. So no, obviously the strat of they are going to buy a ps5 for sure is not going to work but the fact that they have this ready and it isn't out yet means they weren't actually serious when they said that, they only said that to not say "Yeah well, Sony economy depends on hardware and has been depending on ps hardware since 2013 when we almost go bankrupt so if posible we want to keep selling consoles". They already know games cost too much (even when they aren't losing money, they just aren't making billions back) but what are they going to do? Cancel the games they already have started to start cheaper games from 0? That's just not going to happen ... a lot of time will pass before watching any kind of change there.

Also i think is cool pc players can wait, having the confidence to be alive in two years to play a game or to be alive 8 more years to play any game day one in this world that can end any day. That must be nice. I don't have that confidence so buying the cheap, weak and limited box to play the games I actually want to play without waiting doesn't sound like a terrible idea LOL.

I know a lot more about software production than hardware but is way too soon. Portal is basically the proof people will buy it and Lenovo making disposable handhelds means Sony has the economy to do so, but it's WAY too early.

We knew for more than 3 years they were making services, we know they cancelled half those services, were they supposed to not release the other half? People expect for Capcom to present a Resident Evil on sony shows every year?

Nah the show was bad but let's don't get it wrong. This isn't a shift, they just don't have anything to show yet and when they finally do either later this year or next year (because their goal is to increase first party revenue for 2025) people will forget about this and will celebrate and act like everything is perfect.

It's a shame actually because a 5v5 game of this kind most likely doesn't hold a chance with a price tag vs other games like the Marvel game presented in the very same show. S*cks but not every service can be a hit, that's how the industry works, hopefully it gets a playerbase like Paladins or TF2.

Don't want to? Don't buy the games. Want to review bomb a single player game? You need to but the game first and don't return it LOL. If Sony was desperate for that money the requirement wouldn't be there and "bad" sales (people are going to buy this yes or yes cry rivers included) will help the current strat to not change.

@BusyOlf lol so now it matter what version gets the "attention"? Fighting games sell the most on console but the pc version gets the attention because that community will last the longest. Madden is on pc but all the big tournaments are on console.

@UltimateOtaku91 they have realistic expectations so don't worry. There was a difference in how they presented games between the Days gone fiasco and Returnal selling only 500k being a success enough to buy the studio.

They know this won't sell a lot because as you can see there is no enough demographic. If you want to be worried about a studio you can worry about MediaMolecule lol. Those guys were the next in line to execution

This game looks FANTASTIC and it was announced the same year it will the released.

-New Dynasty Warriors
-Path of exile
-Astrobot looks nuts

And the most important part Concord and Astrobot are games for this year.

Actually impressed for how visually good this is but gameplay and level design will be everything.

I know I'm in the minority here but I think the fact that they are doing a show for games to be released on 2024 should be celebrated.

Concord and Astrobot are the must for the show because Billbil doesn't miss.

No PS5Pro. That is going to be for the next half of the year (probably september like with the ps4 pro) and I actually expect for the big first party games for 2025 and beyond to be revealed with the pro not in this SoP.

XDEV made a tweet teasing their work is going to be there so a new or existent big partnership is on the way. I wish it won't be another SE game, those guys aren't wort it.

Looking at the fact that Hellblade 2 sold between 60k and 80k copies on steam, whoever is waiting for that on ps5 may have what they want very soon.

@jFug I don't see how art direction makes something lazy but the games you're talking about were made by teams. This game is in the making by just one dev lol so it could be a metroidvania, pixel art game inspired by dark souls and still couldn't be identified as lazy.

@jFug we know of 3 games that will be revealed in june. concord, astrobot and an indie game partnered with ps so is either a show or a big presence at summer games.
