Re: Why Didn't Sony Show Any Indie Games at E3 2017?

HungryWolf

Funny! The question of Sony's commitment to indies didn't come up on E3 2016, and if I remember correctly, there was no announcement of indie games at that conference.
Another issue that people are complaining is the conference duration. And again, E3 2016 conference clocked around 1 hour, and nobody took issue with that at the time.
The hypocrisy continues.

Re: Reaction: What Sony's E3 2017 Press Conference Got Wrong

HungryWolf

It's clear Sony is focusing on God of War, Spider-man, Days Gone and Detroit. And since those games are scheduled for 2018, there is no point in debuting more games, when they already have a packed 2018.
Also, the focus on VR might put off some people.

Overall, I think this E3 have so many leaks, it was difficult to find a surprise or a comeback in all the press conferences.

Re: Square Enix Makes Shock Decision to Sell Hitman Developer

HungryWolf

The noise caused by the episodic nature of the game clearly made damage.
Square Enix plan for the release of the game seem to change every time in order to appease the gaming community. Also, the scepticism in the gaming media, and gaming community, on the episodic nature of the game didn't help, as many saw this as a purely financial move.
Good luck, IO Interactive.

Re: 70% of Final Fantasy XV's Team Is Still Focused on the Game

HungryWolf

I remember a time, when people replayed a game over and over. Now is just, play and forget. I understand there are always more games coming out, but not everybody buy a game on daily basis. A developer improving on the re-playability of the game is welcomed.
Don't forget, people shout out loud because SE made Hitman episodic, and now, the same people say it was a great strategy for the game.

Re: For Honor Will Require an Internet Connection on PS4

2016 has not be a good year for Ubisoft. The Division was underwhelming, Watch_Dogs 2 sells were lower than the first, the silent launch of STEEP, and now this. Is Ubisoft trying to sabotage itself?
I think the hostile takeover from Vivendi and the investigation over the inside trading are signs that something in Ubisoft is not right.

Re: Feature: 5 PS4K Neo Reveals Sony Must Make at PlayStation Meeting 2016

HungryWolf

"The price is right" and "What's next for the PS4?" are the most important aspects to clarify.

"Flex those specs": I still believe the success of PS4 comes from Sony giving players what they want, and not the specs. The common consumer does not care about specs.

"What does it do?": I'm curious to see how they going to present the graphical improvement in games, at least to those who are going to watch the stream of the event. Unless they stream the event in 4K and you have a 4K TV, I doubt that you gonna see any graphical improvement.

Re: Rumour: Lara Croft's Rise of the Tomb Raider Rushes PS4 on 11th October

HungryWolf

The conversation about price is something that fascinates me. I remember when people went mad because the price of No Man Sky, because it was made by an indie studio, and so, it should never be priced 60€.
Mass Effect 2 to PS3 was launch a year later of the PC/XBOX360 version, and it was priced 60€.
I think the issue with ROTTR was the whole screw up in the exclusivity deal, because when the game was revealed in E3 2014 there was no knowledge about exclusivity. Only months after, we learn that the game would be exclusive to XBOX One, and that made people mad.
In the end, companies can price whatever they see fit, but it would be nice a goodwill gesture from SE (charge full price, but offer the DLC codes).

Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Scared of Xbox's Scorpio?

HungryWolf

PS4 is on the front for one big reason, it was 100$ cheaper than the XB1 at launch. The same reason the XB360 was in the front, because Sony thought that people would spend 599$ for a console.
Now, the XB1S price is between 299$ - 399$ (depending of the HDD), so I believe the XB1 Scorpio will be at least 499$, and so, we have a very expensive console that probably only tech enthusiast will buy at launch.
And then, there is the problem of user base, now we have 60 million (give or take) current gen consoles, and developers are going to optimize games to a new iteration of consoles that have no were near that number of user base? I'm not knowledgeable about game development, but I think that upscaling and frame rate improvement is not just that linear.

Re: Is Sony Holding a Press Conference at Gamescom?

HungryWolf

IMO, Sony needs to focus on the 40 million user base to sell PSVR. They need to make sure to consumers that PSVR is not another hardware like Move or PSTV, that is launch and then forgotten.
About the Neo, I think they should present the new console in their own press conference (like they did with the PS4) and probably on Q1 2017, when they can get more media attention.

Re: Dead Island's Deep Silver to Publish Persona 5 in Europe

HungryWolf

@FullbringIchigo I was probably one of the few people that laugh at the video of Mighty nº 9 because of how ridiculous it was. But the failure of Mighty nº 9, as a game, is the responsibility of Concept, not Deep Silver.
Believe me, if the game reviewed on metacritic between 80 or 90, nobody would be talking about the ridiculous trailer.

@FullbringIchigo @Bad-MuthaAdebisi
While SEGA could come across as lazy for not publishing the game, I believe they are protecting the game by not putting the name on the cover.
Lets no forget that SEGA, as company, is still working on recouping their reputation that once had.
