Re: Guide: Uncharted Games Ranked from Best to Worst

KirbyTheVampire

I've only played 4 and 3 and about 3/4 or so of 1, but I can still make my list with confidence, because 1 was absolutely terrible.

1: UC 4: Great game, with an interesting story, great characters, awesome action sequences and beautiful locations. Not a game I'll have tons of nostalgia for, but it would absolutely be well-worth buying at full price. I'll give it a 9/10.

2: UC 3 Great game as well, although the narrative wasn't as good as in 4. I honestly can't remember the details of the story that well. Plus, the villain was boring, and the action sequences weren't as good as the ones in 4. I'll give it an 8/10

3: UC 1: It's probably largely due to the fact that I played it for the first time this year, and it's a pretty old game, but I really don't like this game at all. The platforming was frustrating at times, the story and characters were stale, and everything was just boring and repetitive. I'll give it a 4/10.

I find the sticks annoyingly slippery. I have no problems with that on any other controller. It's not due to wear either, since I just got the console and controller like 10 months ago, and have always had that problem.

Plus, the battery is pathetic.

Re: Hands On: The Inpatient Shares Until Dawn's Penchant for Jump Scares

KirbyTheVampire

Until Dawn had tons of cheap jump scares, especially at the start of the game. It seemed like every 5 minutes there would be a jump scare, only for you to realize it was just one of the main characters or a harmless animal jumping out at you. It's the most lazy method of scaring the player possible. Forget atmosphere, tension, and jump scares that are actually meaningful. Nah, we'll just have non-threatening things pop out at you from every corner. The game was great for the story and characters, but the actual horror elements were pretty meh a lot of the time.

It kinda sounds like this game could be similar, judging by this line: "Much like Until Dawn before it, The Inpatient cheats with its jump scares".

Sounds like a poor man's Splatoon to me.

Re: Guide: PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X - Which One Should You Buy?

KirbyTheVampire

I don't really understand why either one exists. If you want power, buy a PC. It will make sense if they're just trying to capitalize on the 4K TV market and future generations won't have these half-step consoles, but if this keeps happening, it'll be kind of weird. You would be better off to just buy a PC instead of spending like 1000+ on the regular console and then the Pro version after that every single generation.

That said, I'll take the PS4 for the exclusives.

Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Open World Games

Skyrim should be higher. One of the most detailed open worlds ever, with tons of secret stuff to find.

Should certainly be higher than Fallout 4, anyway. That game's world is pretty much the poor man's version of Splatoon's world.

@BAMozzy That's probably true. Maybe I'm just bored with first person shooters in general, lol.

I'm sure for people who enjoy the genre, they'll really notice the changes, but for me it just feels kind of same-y.

I don't really bother with the campaigns at all either, and I stopped playing the new CODs right around Ghosts, so that probably didn't help change my opinion that the series wasn't changing in many significant ways.
