@NotSoCryptic i didn't enjoy FF9 back when it first released. I just recently got to complete and enjoyed it al lot more this time. I did however love 7 and 8 and completed those 100% multiple times.

The strength of 7 has always been it characters and how they interact with each other. It strengthens the big moments in the story, I still feel the haven't matched that in any of the other FF games. The world of VII is also amazing and full of lore, especially if you count the compilation with it, the story of the original was always a mixed bag for me personally, it had it highest but near the end it lost it. So remake was great for me, especially a second playthrough after it sinked in that it will be different going forwards, but that's fine by me cause as I said before the characters and world is what made 7 the best for me with VIII being close.

It's a shame Rare isn't the developer they once were. They pretty much carried the N64.

@NightshadeNL I didn't really notice in the demo. If you don't completely focus on it you probably don't see it.

I wonder if remake would have been above IX if it was a one on one remake without all the side content and timelines. And just one game.

Basically, they release a game on PS and Nintendo, then release the sequel exclusive on Xbox. It's just one big marketing campaign.

Does anyone read the articles? They are talking about existing franchise, so the only games that won't be coming are sequels or prequels. There are still new IP's coming, what everyone wanted, and the third party exclusives wich Playstation studios helped with

So new first party IP's and third party exclusives are still possible. Just no sequels or prequels.

@ED_209 this financial year ends march 31 2024, not in 14 months. I expect they wait for announcements after the inevitable Nintendo direct that announces the next console. Seeing Nintendo is the biggest competition they might want to take as much thunder away from that.

He's probably going to film everything and try to get the gameplay look as close as possible. That might be the biggest explanation as why he workes with Sony pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony will be doing this more, as it might reduce development cost. I think Alan wake 2 did this as well. I haven't play it yet so don't know if the results are good.

I regret playing it... Because now the wait feels even longer.

@XboxistheBestBox it's funny that Xbox fanboys always try to bash on the last of us and uncharted about the gameplay. Play any Xbox game and it's a soulless copy paste game of games from the past. Same goes for alot of playstation and Nintendo games for that matter. Just because the gameplay is simple doesn't make a game bad.

@lightningbolt79 Spatoon is fun to play, but sorry to say, Splatoon 3 is a mess. Can't count the times anymore that I game stopped because someone went out or lost connection. It's not like Nintendo are gods or anything with their games like most claim. It's great ti see some competition in this genre.

@LifeGirl this applies to every company unfortunately, not just Sony. What do you think what the idea behind gamepass is, exactly the same. No ownership over content so you need to stay subscribed in order to keep access to it.

@BIG3 same here. I still believe it was just based on random luck. You could do it perfectly and still lose.

Impressive what they did here, I couldn't even do the standard song without a thousand mistakes. Something tells me this is going to be my frustrating trophy, just like the gym trophy in remake.

Hi-Fi rush, gears of war and halo. I always thought Blinx had potential, and I enjoyed the first one on the original Xbox. To bad they never did anything with that ip.

I would love a remake of VIII. Even though VII is my favourite, I played VIII the most. I remember getting up extra early every morning , just so I could play it before going to school.

Mega man x or legends, lost planet, rival schools, Maximo. They have some amazing franchises if you really dig in.

It's safe to assume that every game that gets released can eventually get dlc . It's bigger news when I game doesn't get dlc.

Alot of smartphones will die being crushed out of rage, after dying for the 100th time.

A new jak and daxter would be great. Or that sci-fi or fantasy game they mentioned at one point. Will be very interesting to see what they can do with that genre.

If true, then MS will most likely just becoming a third party publisher. The Xbox will become a mediabox, kind of like apple does with apple tv.

Pretty much what factions would be then. Maybe the last of us 3 will go in this direction. I personally don't think it should, this type of games works best as a linear experience. Not everything needs to be open world.

I think I'm going to get it tomorrow. I wanted to wait until I finished FFVII rebirth, but the reviews really convinced me to get it now.

When it started Social media was a way to connect with each other, and yes socialise. I recent years it makes people less social to each other. It also doesn't help that certain world leaders and other persons in power it as a weapon to get people worked up.

It's a shame it became this toxic among gamers. I have gaming as a hobby because I enjoy it, to do alone, with friends or with strangers around the world because it is supposed to be a relaxing fun experience. I'm glad I experienced gaming in the 90's and early 00's, such a simpler time. You were just happy with the games that came out. Developers weren't herassed 24/7 because you didn't like s feature or wanted more.

If it's really all on one disc like horizon, I might consider double dipping, if not then there's no reason to.

@Sifi the year just started, and if they announced everything now, people will start complaining that they won't show anything new during the rest of the year.

There are some great third party AAA exclusives coming. And on some where first party studios helped with the development.

The state of play convinced me to buy this game. Looks very good.

Never played it on PS4 so might pick this up.

How to make the most money out of one game, and only make it once in 2024:

Step 1: think of the game
Step 2: think of DLC
Step 3: make the game with enough plot points to valid a DLC.
Step 4: release unfinished game
Step 5: release DLC
Step 6: release definitive edition
Step 7: release ultimate edition on next console with secret DLC that was done years ago.

For a company called the embracer group, they are not really embracing the IP's and talent they have.

Can't wait to see what they have for us. I still believe 2024 will be the year they will show all the cards they have. Hoping for some great surprises.

It can also be Sonic generations 2. If it's a remaster I hope they will add other playable characters like tails and knuckles.

The ending of FFVII remake made Sephiroth a smaller threat then in the original, in my personal opinion. In the original he was a mysterious person and you got to see the big damage he did throughout the story. Having had a epic battle ar the end of remake against him kind of made him seem less dangerous, considering the team got out of it completely unharmed.

Just don't make it open world. FF VII takes this long because they added alot of content and an alternate timeline. If they sticked to just remake the story the game would have been completely done already. The same would apply to VI, yes these games have al lot of content, but they act like the classics are 200+ hours games.

And that kids is how you play Monopoly. I hope everyone affected will find a new job in the industry do they can continue doing what they love.

I am terrible at fighting games online. Most of the time my opponent starts a combo, and I will just go make myself a cup of tea, get a snack or play with the dog. So if there are online trophies for big online achievements, then this will be a platinum I will not get.

@atthegates that's most likely the problem. If you copy them to your HDD and if it's still attached to your system it will still see it as a installed game on your HDD. It will not show on the home screen ones you played enough other games to kick it from the list that the PS5 shows.

I don't need folders. I get great enjoyment of scrolling down my endless list of games realising I will never finish 80% of them. The disapproving look of my wife while the list goes on is just icing on the cake.
