Re: Veteran PlayStation Exec Connie Booth Officially Exits the Firm

No one knows the reason for her departure. Maybe she wanted to go or maybe she screwed up so badly behind the scenes that she had to go. Just because she worked there from the beginning doesn't mean she can't make big mistakes for the company. I just hope it's the first and she left because she wanted to.

Re: The Last of Us Multiplayer's Microtransactions Man Has Left Naughty Dog

Martijn87

I don't get why so many are thinking the studios are only making live service games. All studios are making multiple games at the moment. It's a shame resources went into this but it won't be a complete loss. Last of Us 3 will most likely have a factions multiplayer mode.

The biggest problem is that most AAA games cost a lot of money and more timethen ever to make because of the high standards the studios have but the higher standards of the fans. If the games don't look 20 times better then PS4 then gamers will be all over them that the PS5 was a waste of money etc.

Re: The Last of Us Multiplayer Game Is 'Basically on Ice' Right Now

Sony PlayStation should focus on their strengths. Great singleplayer experiences, with maybe a great multiplayer mode in it (Split-screen and online). That is what made them great, and what eventually saved the PS3 and made the PS4 a must own console. They don't need to invent new IP' s for this kind of games. They already had/have the best contenders for it, that already have the perfect gameplay for it. Just to name a few: Warhawk, Resistance, Killzone, Twisted Metal, Uncharted multiplayer, last of us multiplayer, Playstation all stars, little big planet racing. These game might need some tweaking but all are popular and loved. They didn't need Bungie or anyone. Just stick to your own strengths. Nintendo made it this far because they knew this.

Re: Now Naughty Dog Is Reportedly Downsizing, Cutting Multiple Contract Jobs

Martijn87

Sad news. Naughty dog should have just added factions to part 2 or just the basic factions with the remake. Being pressured not to tell seems blown out of proportion. In alot of contracts there is section that keeps you from sharing in house information whether you are still employed or not. Being pressured has nothing to do with that. I had that section in almost all my contracts, especially when I was working in film.

Re: Preview: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Has a Playable Sephiroth

FFVII is one of my favorite games of all time, if not the most. This game had so much impact on me in my childhood, I still remember seeing that opening in '97 for the first time and being amazed by it. That game was just pure magic, from the battles , characters and music everything was perfect. I was sceptical after remake part 1, as I wasn't sure if I liked or disliked the ending. But after reflection what really mattered in VII ate the characters and their interactions with each other and the world. I'm really looking forward to Rebirth, as it seems it's going to deliver on everything and more.

Re: Poll: Was Sony's Latest State of Play Worth the Wait?

Martijn87

It was good, seems like the first party games will be shown in 2024, or maybe november. I thought it was better then the Nintendo direct honestly, I know I will get hated on that for saying this but all they seem to be making is mario games these days. Loved the ff7 trailer February can't come soon enough.

Re: The Last of Us Composer Gustavo Santaolalla May Have Teased a New Version of Part 2

@GamingFan4Lyf I get your points and I do agree with most. The pricing for cross-gen games is stupid, they should be the same price, especially if it's released at the same time. Doesn't matter if it's better or not on PS5.

Personally, I think Sony should not have done the cross-gen games. I know alot of people will not agree with that, because the PS5 wasn't that much available at launch or because of other reasons, but it imo it would have been better. Games wouldn't be hold back because of old gen hardware, would have released in a better flow and the discussions about the prices and upgrades wouldn't be such a thing.

I do buy a lot of remasters of the games I know I will play again and again. For me that is a key thing for buying one. Sometimes when I'm looking at my collection I call myself crazy for having ocarina of time, ffvii, mario 3 and the last of us on every console it's on.

As much as I understand people rather having a new game, I also understand the developers releasing games like this on a next gen console. Games like this cost around 200 million to make, considered that it makes sense they update it to meet current standards and rerelease it. This doesn't take alot of extra work and it doesn't harm development on other projects.

This isn't new in the video game industry. I mean how many times did we get street fighter 2, Sonic 1-3, super Mario bros, Zelda, FF VII, just to name a few. I'm looking forward to this, and as I said before maybe and hopefully it's a pack in with factions.
