Re: Hogwarts Legacy Summer Update Revealed with Photo Mode and More

N1ghtW1ng

Nice to see that a Photo Mode is being added, I stopped playing this mid-way through the story so the Photo Mode might be a good incentive to return to the game.

Capturing Hogwarts Castle from various angles during the day and night and in different weather conditions will be quite interesting.

Re: More Xbox Layoffs Reportedly Inbound as Company Attempts to Cut Costs

N1ghtW1ng

This was always the inevitable result of Microsoft's shopping spree in scooping up publishers and developers in order to boost their short-term profits to appease their greedy shareholders.

Yes, shareholders are entitled to a return on their investment, but at the same time they also need to be realistic and take a long-term view on sustainable growth.

IMO, there's nothing sustainable about Microsoft's recent acquisitions. It was a smoke-screen to hide their under-performing gaming division and now the chickens are coming home to roost, so to speak.

Microsoft should have rather gone the more painful (and less expensive) route of developing and improving their in-house development teams with light acquisitions added to the mix.

It really sucks that hardworking, dedicated and passionate game developers have to suffer due to the greed and short-sightedness of out of touch executives.

Re: Gaming Subs Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Aren't Growing At All

N1ghtW1ng

I've always thought that, on the whole, these gaming subscription services have resulted in the dilution of games.

They have their place in highlighting games from Indie developers that would otherwise struggle in the marketplace (best example I can think of is Rocket League).

With such a glut of content on GP and PS+, games sort of lose their appeal IMO and become disposable or forgettable.

Also, time is a big factor for any gamer. I can't find the time and energy to play and complete the games that I've purchased, so there's no way I'll even think about subscribing to PS+ or EA Play.

There seems to be a focus on quantity over quality with these services, and I don't think that's sustainable for the gaming industry.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Yet to Recoup Dev, Marketing Expenses as Tencent Raises Stake

I'll be honest, even if AW2 had been released in physical format (as it should have been IMO), I wouldn't have purchased it right away or even within a year of its release (I literally have no disposable income at the moment).

I just hope Remedy (and Epic Games) realise the importance of physical format and consider releasing AW2 physically in the near future.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Fallout 4's Next-Gen Version?

N1ghtW1ng

I played it on the PS4 back in 2017. It was an awful experience and I quickly shelved it. It pales in comparison to Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

It's quite baffling to think it's been surging in popularity recently, but it must be correlated with the Amazon TV series.

Re: TopSpin 2K25 (PS5) - A Killer Serve 13 Years in the Making

N1ghtW1ng

Anyone else have fond memories of Top Spin 3 on the PS3 and wish that they patched in Trophy support for it back in the day?

I still remember absolutely dreading facing any serves by Andy Roddick in Top Spin 3. The guy was an ace machine in that game.

I won't be getting Top Spin 5/2K5, but I hope for those of you that do, you'll enjoy it in the same way that I enjoyed Top Spin 2, 3 and 4 back in the day.

Whatever happened to the Smash Court Tennis series?

Re: KOTOR Remake is 'Alive and Well', Insists Saber Interactive CEO

I have some fond memories of playing the original on PC.

I had such a potato of a PC back then (end of 2003), I actually had to disable the cutscenes to play the game, and from Taris onwards, I had disable grass as well, that's how bad my PC was.

I still loved the game, and I'm really hoping this remake sees the light of day in the future.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Stellar Blade Demo?

N1ghtW1ng

I played through around 30 minutes of the demo, completing the first section.

The game looks stunning, and I like the combat mechanics. I'm not really familiar with these type of games, so I would be quite interested in discovering games that have similar combat mechanics as Stellar Blade

I don't really see the controversy regarding Eve's portrayal. She looks like a really athletic (albeit with some unrealistic proportions) woman.

I'm in two minds regarding the art direction. The enemies I faced in the first section grossed me out quite a bit; I felt like I was facing off against some sort of malignant demonic fetuses.

Also, there's was a lot of brown and grey in the environment for the first section, which reminded me of the PS3 era.

I don't think I'll be interested in purchasing the full game, but at least I have a better understanding of the game going forward.

Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed Red Is Starting to Sound a Lot Like Valhalla

N1ghtW1ng

The last Assassin's Creed game I played was Assassin's Creed 3 way back in 2014 (sorry for making anyone feel old with this comment).

Up until that game, I played every console game in the series, and I was disappointed with the third game (and also just burnt out on the series as a whole) that I have never shown any interest in any of the subsequent games.

I don't think this will change for me with the latest one on the horizon.

Re: Poll: Which Xbox Franchises Would You Buy on PS5?

N1ghtW1ng

For me, I'd love to have access to the Fable, Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon series.

I really enjoyed DriveClub, and I get the feeling that I would really enjoy Forza Horizon as a result.

I'd also like to make an actual (and personal) comparison between Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport.

I grew up playing some of Peter Molyneux's games, such as Black & White and Populous: The Beginning, so it would be cool to play through Fable as well.

Re: PlayStation Pours Investment into Africa as It Looks to Grow Globally

@ShadowyElite

The ANC are similar to Israel, any legitimate criticism aimed at them is turned into racist, colonial and anti-black material. Nobody plays the Race Card better than the ANC and their supporters.

I too have the wrong skin colour (through no fault of my own). I've realised very early in life that this so-called government has no interest in my success or growth so it's best to do things on my own and never expect anything from the state.

To put it into perspective for PushSquare Users, South Africa first started experiencing loadshedding in 2007 (due to corruption, failure to maintain electrical infrastructure and the slow demise of the national electricity provider).

17 years later, those of us still trapped here are still experiencing loadshedding. Think about that...they had 17 years to address a problem (a complex problem to be fair to them) yet they still failed at addressing it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 513

N1ghtW1ng

I'm replaying Prey (2017) on the PS5, focusing on a Typhon-only ability run. My first playthrough was a Human-only abilities, and I think using Typhon abilities makes the game a lot more fun.

I just started Infinifactory on PC. It's the current Free Game on the Epic Game Store. I've had it for ages on my PSN Wishlist, but it never went on sale (last on sale in 2018 IIRC). I'm really grateful that it was free, and that it can actually run on my budget laptop.

@Sakai

Another Newcastle United fan here, will never forgive what the FCB did to the club during his tenure, and I'll never support any of his businesses while I'm still drawing breath (I do live outside the UK, so the chances of entering any of his tat stores is extremely slim, but it's not about the money, it's about sending a message)
