Well the way the Fallout games work is almost like a more old school episodic based tv show. There is an overarching plot but the quests you play are pretty self contained stories. There is a main questline you can take but the beauty of Fallout is just randomly encountering seemingly minor things while exploring that brilliantly snowball into giant storylines. And most of those self contained storylines are of the same quality and caliber as the main quest line. I love that style of gameplay but if that is not your style thats fine. It's still well worth playing though. I would recommend trying out Fallout 3 and New Vegas on PC as a starting point as both games can be run pretty well on even basic PCs today. Sure the games are perfectly playable on console but on PC for these types of games particularly it's a much more comfortable experience.

Considering how heavy re3 was criticized I don't understand how you have such a major assumption, especially from a company that has proven in the last several years that they listen to feedback. Re4 wasn't even that long of a game to begin with. You would hard pressed to find any playthrough online that surpasses 10 hours, so why would they not expand on it to justify the price tag. We will see if your tune changes after it's released.

Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem Caps Out at Just 30fps on PS5, 40fps on 120hz TVs

It didn't say a game has to be 60. I play 30 fps games on Switch all the time, I couldn't care less. My issue is that a game has to have a justification for not hitting that target and they just don't have one. "We can't because co-op". When has co-op ever tanked the framerate on a console that powerful? Watch Dogs Legion didn't have 60 fps at launch on PS5 for some BS reason too and then they released a 60 patch and low and behold the game had no problems reaching that target, I guarantee you they will patch this, and you can quote me six months from now when Gotham Knights gets a patch and does 60 no problem.

What else could be running under the hood, it uses the same exact engine Arkham Knight did. Only difference is this uses the UE4 edition while Arkham used UE3 and maybe looks slightly better than Arkham Knight did, which is a 7 year old game now. Only significant differences I can find is the world is a little bigger and it has two player co-op. How many games can you name that lost any significant performance with the inclusion of another player in the last 15 years? I just can't figure any possible reason why they can't get 60 fps out of a console that is again 8 times more powerful than the PS4 was. Its technologically similar predecessor game held 30 on PS4 for the most part.

Rats can be CPU intensive like I said Plague has an excuse. Gotham Knights on the other hand is not much more graphically demanding than Arkham Knight was and that ran on PS4 just fine. I just struggle to see how a console that is reportedly 8 times more powerful than the PS4 is not able to do 60 fps for that game and considering Arkham Knight had a notoriously crappy PC release, I am willing to chalk it all up to bad optimizing.

Exactly. These acquisitions do nothing but create a monopoly on games. Sure Microsoft pays developers well to put their products on Gamepass which ensures a lot of developers are guaranteed financial security, but it simply isn't fair to brute force your way into owning everything just because you are one of if not the richest corporation on the planet and can afford to just buy everything. It especially is baffling to me because Microsoft is an American company and America has anti-trust laws that are supposed to specifically stop s--t like this from happening. And yet they aren't being enforced. This wouldn't even be the first time Microsoft was accused of anti-trust practices. In 2001 Microsoft went against the U.S Supreme Court for using very unethical and illegal practices to make their apps (namely Explorer and their Office programs), mandatory on all computers including non-Microsoft computers such as Apple MACs.

I never understood such blatant hate for Dishonored 2. It didn't have as good of a plot as the first I will give you that but Dishonored 2 had the more refined gameplay and superior more open-ended levels. The Clockwork Mansion alone is one of the most brilliantly designed levels I have ever seen in a video game and seemingly every time I replay it I find brand new routes I wasn't aware of which is top tier design through and through. Not to mention the level where you constantly have to switch between different time periods or the level in the district obscured by dust storms which requires you to change up your playstyle. There's creativity that not even the first game possessed.

Yes it slows your movement but considering it can clear out an entire hallway full of enemies pretty quickly it means I will always take it over the dual wielded rifles that are extremely inaccurate and which in my opinion has to reload way too often. Also I prefer the old school Doom plasma gun. The Doom 3 plasma gun was good but also kind of a little overpowered with the fact it could take out most enemies quickly and that I can't recall ever even running out of ammo for that thing.

Because one Insomniac confirmed it was only in development on PS5, which is why they showed that one cinematic to show off that you could only do that level of real time graphical fidelity with PS5 hardware and two, did you not read the entire articles they said and I quote "doing it on a case by case basis". AKA: not every game can be done on PS4. But you immediately jumped into "sPiDeRmAn 2 pS4 cOnFiRmEd"

Re: God of War Ragnarok Rated for Release on PS5, PS4 by ESRB

PegasusActual93

@MattBoothDev
It's just so the U.S government can f--k off. Because congress told the gaming industry either you enforce your own rating system or we will make our own. Stores are required to enforce it by upper management but nothing legally will happen if they don't as the supreme court ruled the government cannot legally punish the sale of explicit video games to minors due to the first amendment.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Game Length Is Reportedly Worthy of Jörmungandr Himself

PegasusActual93

@Ah-Void
Howlongtobeat isn't the definitive average because only a small percentage of people who actually played the game are reporting their playtimes on the website and most people don't actually time their playthroughs which gives them the impression of the game being longer than it actually is. Plus the comparison I believe is perfectly fair as the genres are not different enough for it to have any impact on the pacing of the plot itself. Only difference is that in the old games Kratos fought more gods somewhat more frequently.
