@Ah-Void 2018 I finished in less than fifteen and most playthroughs I find online never quite hit the 12 hour mark. Also God of War 3 was less than 10 and that tied up the Greek mythology nicely so if anything they might drag this out more than needed.
What even is this game, what genre, what gameplay, what is the story? Do they even know? Why can't they just do a more polished version of the first game and it's design? At least with Duke Nukem Forever we knew what the f--king genre was!
I don't see this worrying Sony. Vast majority of players don't know anything about jailbreaking, plus it's an unreliable exploit and to top it all off it requires almost a year old firmware. It has also been patched out but even if it wasn't Sony isn't gonna lose any sleep over it just like they didn't with every other Playstation platform being broken.
@prince_myshkin I am pretty sure them "selling out" we will come to find out was just accepting an offer in order to keep the lights on. This is the story with many entities. Newgrounds for just one example had to have porn ads on their site for a while in the early 2000s just to stay afloat after the dot com bubble burst. Doesn't mean they were proud of it as they refuse to acknowledge that chapter of their history to this day. At the end of the day if you had to choose between ideology and continuing to put food on the table most would take food.
@prince_myshkin
Kind of ironic that a corporation that is so blatantly anti-union is producing a tv series adaptation of a video game that has a pro-union message. That alone screams it will be a very unfaithful adaptation.
I would be willing to give this a shot as it is supposedly superior to 4. I haven't played 4 but I have heard mixed opinions on it. It seems across the board this series is a mixed bag. Regardless I enjoyed 1-3 even if I can see why 3 was controversial.
@BusyOlf
Really? I don't remember reading or hearing anything from anyone who thought this was going to last. The technology wasn't there yet meaning it was always gonna be inferior to playing games natively due to streaming and input delay issues, plus the fact you needed really good internet just to get it to work which for starters not everyone has and those who do have good internet are just downloading games digitally very quickly using their fast connections anyway. So the question will forever remain, who the hell was even the target audience for this thing? Everyone was bringing up these points from day 1 and it goes to show that Google apparently didn't realize that movie and tv streaming is a completely different ecosystem to gaming.
@theMEGAniggle With a few exceptions like Sopranos and GOT (which even then was still only 86 and 73 episodes respectively) pretty much all of the shows HBO do are on the shorter side. Usually like 40 episodes or less. So there certainly won't be much padding if at all and especially not Walking Dead levels of it.
@itsfoz It looks like it is similar to the Switch e-shop where you can get a certain amount of points for each game you purchase and with those point you can cumulate them to get a discount on future purchases. Quite useful actually.
This game is seriously reminding me of Duke Nukem Forever. Being in development hell for years on in, a lack of focus, work constantly being scrapped, the developers not being able to decide on what the game should actually be, and then releasing to little hype and a product that ultimately might not be terrible but not good either.
Bulletstorm was a fun diversion but I can not understand the love for Outriders, the combat and level design ranged from average to below average and the story and writing was so forgettable that I legitimately could not name a single character if you put a gun to my head.
@Milktastrophe We didn't need to see anymore, we learned the sound design and the visual design of the clickers are both dead on and I am just glad the trailer didn't give more of them away than they needed to. So many trailers show way too much but this was just the right amount. I also don't get why you think this looks bad, it looks the most faithful live action recreation of any video game I have ever seen and they clearly put a lot of love and attention to detail into it.
Man of Medan was pretty mediocre to me but Little Hope was a very welcome improvement even if I saw the plot twist coming a mile away. I don't know If I will ever replay these on PS5 but I will still add these native versions to my library just in case.
@Shepherd_Tallon Very similar case for me. This is one game my wife has never played so it will be a lot of fun watching her reaction to the more shocking scenes 😄
@Korgon The showrunners have teased that this show will spend a little more time exploring the backstories of various characters so i doubt this will be a complete 1:1. Especially not in future seasons.
@meistergeister
I highly highly highly doubt we will hear anything about a Last of Us 3. Neil Druckman confirmed there does in fact exist a script for a possible third game but it's been put on the backburner at least for now.
@Amin1998
You could watch it in 4K on Hbomax. If that is not available in your country I would recommend using a VPN and setting the geolocation to the U.S.
@riceNpea
Traditionally HBO has higher quality standards than Disney and is very hands off with their shows typically letting the creators do whatever they want, this practice did briefly bite them in the rear with the last season of Game of Thrones but 99 percent of the time this is the very reason they tend to dominate the Emmy's. If HBO can't make this s--t work then nobody else can.
@MaccaMUFC
Apparently HBO Max isn't available in the UK due to licensing issues as Sky owns the rights there to most of HBOs TV library on their services. Not sure when that deal expires if anytime soon. As for the opening literally one of the first things they filmed for this show was the scene with Joel, Sarah and Tommy in the truck so I imagine the show will mirror the games opening very closely.
I really want this to be the first case of a live action breaking of the video game adaptation curse. Animation has broken it with the Castlevania and Cyberpunk shows so what is stopping that HBO dragon money from doing the same?
@nomither6
No other console in history has looked like a plain tall rectangle. It's like Microsoft just gave up trying to come up with a unique design and said "f--k it tall rectangle!" At least the Xbox One had a VCR home entertainment thing going for it so you could at least kind of see what they were going for. They had a good design with the Xbox 360 which looked memorable, not sure why they couldn't do something similar again. Anyway, even consoles with a square or rectangular base has curve, or some angular shapes on top or something. PS4 has an slanted wedge design which works with it's small size. PS1 is rectangular..ish but has a circular top disc tray and the way the vents look on the side looks appealing to me. The PS3 looks like a backyard grill and the PS2 looks like the first draft of a planned superior design. It's very hit or miss with Playstation designs for me. At the end of the day though it's just a thing under my TV that plays games.
@IonMagi
One: This requires a beefy PC just to run
Two: The vast majority of games on this emulator are either super buggy or don't even load due to various issues
Three: This project has been many years in the work and they still have a very long way to go.
Four: The PS5 architecture doesn't lend itself to PS3 emulation due to the PS3 cell architecture.
Five: Sony are not Microsoft they don't have the resources or budget that Microsoft has to just throw around money for fully compatible emulation
Six: Before you say the PS2 and PS3 had compatibility that was because they were using very similar system architecture and also were more expensive because of the compatibility especially PS3.
Seven: If full backwards compatibility was a thing only a very small percentage of players would even use it lets face it.
Eight: And; No, the source code is actually lost for many of these PS3 games. Most developers back then were not exactly well known for preserving source codes. Many many remasters of games have ran into that very issue.
@Uncharted2007
I think it looks better than the Series X fridge design, or tower or whatever the hell they were going for with that look.
I still think the PS1 and the PS4 had the best designs. I also kind of have a soft spot for the Xbox 360 design. Though maybe that is more nostalgia then anything.
@Uncharted2007 Actual I would say. I didn't care for the design at first but actually having one in the flesh now has warmed me up to to the look of it.
I have no reason to buy one of these games again. I have had my fill of gameplay from the recent beta which was a lot of fun but nothing I could play for months on in and I don't care at all for battle royale so no thanks.

This game had way too much filler. I hate this stupid trend of open world games locking the main plot until you do side quests. It isn't a side quest when you are forced to do it! One of the many reasons I despise the last three Assassin Creeds. Why does everything have to be a rpg now! I miss the breezy 12 hour maximum open world main quests of yesteryear.
@naruball It can be useful but in the grand scheme of things is it worth it? You won't get any constructive feedback. All you will see is a cesspit of a ultimately very small section of fans. For every vile hateful comment about something you worked on there is 10000 others who don't use social media and love your work. Hence why I roll my eyes when social media tries to boycott something and it still makes millions, yeah because the people who bought your product are the majority and not the vile cesspit.
@RogerRoger Spy fiction by it's very nature ages very very poorly. I imagine this updated version will be akin to something like the Mission Impossible movies compared to the original TV show. Which version is better can be argued for eternity but the movies did update the series to a modern setting while keeping much of the originals spirit.
@RogerRoger Alot of people on the internet sure love jumping to conclusions. So much of the original games plot geopolitically speaking has aged very poorly and I am pretty sure they are just updating references and technology. Alot has changed and I doubt a game with a plot point as ridiculous as Chinese suitcase nukes will resonate these days.
@BoldAndBrash
I'm talking the developers. I don't like any of this one bit. So many developers will end up getting their games leaked before it's ready and it is going to be devastating. This kind of event is unprecedented.
I genuinely can't believe some people actually think that way, you would think even someone who's knows next to nothing about game design would use common sense to determine they focus on testing the game itself before working much if at all on graphics.
