@Ichiban +1. I’d say it’s an 8 from me. Enjoyable but as you say it is essentially the first game with added RPG elements. The story, in my opinion, is weaker than Zero Dawn but on the flip side I found the side-quests more worthwhile than in the first game.

@nessisonett Pretty much. If it’s going to be something like previous game’s DLC we won’t be seeing this expansion for another year or so. Not holding my breath for this one. The Frozen Wilds was ok, but nothing sort of spectacular, at least story-wise.

For me that’s fine, Forbidden West was great and that’s enough. DLCs usually don’t do it for me anyway.

Quickly finished up Horizon Forbidden West in time for Elden Ring, so now Elden Ring get my full attention!

@get2sammyb @Deadlyblack I wouldn’t be so sure. I just started having that issue when leaving my PS5 in rest mode after playing HFW.

Pretty much never happened before but since starting HFW I have experienced it 3 times already, so I stopped using rest mode for now. By the looks of it I probably should avoid rest mode with Elden Ring, too.

This sucks if true, I was genuinely looking forward to a Game Pass-like service from Sony. But $16/month with no day one first-party titles? Count me out.

I really enjoyed this game actually and I don’t even like most top-down games. I think it’s surprisingly well done for such a small studio.

@rpg2000 Yup, no surprises there. I just figured on PC you can usually tweak some stuff yourself to improve things a bit.

Oh, there’s actually one game I haven’t played this month (Ghostrunner). Worth checking out at the very least.

Great… frame rate problems. If it’s anything like the network test on PS5 I’ll consider just playing on PC to be honest.

@Fragile Sounds like my expectations are in check then, good. What you said sums up my experience with HZD precisely. And I’m guessing HFW is more of the same but with yet another layer of RPG elements added to it.

@thebizniznizbiz Of course not, you’re right. I’ve had my 1000Mpbs connection (granted I pay $50/month, so not super cheap) for the last five or six years. Guess I have become spoilt and reading that it takes hours to download 100gb felt unreal in my world.

@TheRedComet That’s not too bad. You got a pretty good setup there given the circumstances. I’ve heard about that kind of connection here, too. People living in the middle of nowhere (deep within the vast forests here in Sweden) make use of it.

I reside in a smaller town, so fiber broadband is the norm, and is always unmetered luckily.

@theheadofabroom Ah, I see. Yeah, that makes sense. I can’t really max my speeds, I think PSN servers bottleneck really fast connections somewhat. But it’s fast enough for me, so I’m not complaining.

@TheRedComet You’re funny! I’m on a 1000/1000 Mbps+ connection which actually is quite common around here, nor is it very expensive. I pay $50 a month.

@theheadofabroom Ouch, hours for just 100gb? That can’t be right. No options to upgrade your internet speed? I haven’t started HFW yet but downloaded it yesterday, I reckon it took me somewhere around 20 minutes to download.

Continuing my Dying Light 2 journey on Series X and over on PS5 I’m replaying Cyberpunk 2077.

By next week I should have time to sprint through HFW. I’ll be focusing on the story missions. Hopefully you don’t need to do too much of the filler content to proceed with the story.

Yeah, I bought it. Not sure when I’ll get around to play it though. I want to finish Dying Light 2 and replay Cyberpunk 2077 first.

Pretty excited actually. I’ve already finished the story and I throughly enjoyed it to be honest. I can see myself jumping back in if this upgrade takes off and they release new content.

@Reeneman Spot on, mate. I feel the exact same way. I switch on resolution mode “damn *****’s pretty” and then I start moving around, “…yeah hell no, back to performance mode”.

Easy choice. Performance mode, hands down. I probably won’t even try the quality mode when I get around to play it.

@lolwhatno Eh, it’s worth a shot. Got it readily available in the library so nothing to lose. I just need more free time as we all do, of course.

@lolwhatno No, but maybe I should? I tend to dismiss most horror/zombie games right off the bat, as those genres has never been very appealing to me. Perhaps I shouldn’t!

XBSX: Dying Light 2. Probably the very first zombie game I actually enjoy.

Looks absolutely gorgeous but I’ll probably hold off till I get ahold of a new less noisy PS5. Graphics look unreal so I can only imagine what my current units will sound like unfortunately.

@Valgore Yeah, platinum edition is on sale for $15 right now, think I’ll pick it up. I can wait with number 2, coming months are packed with great games anyway.

I’m on the fence on buying the platinum edition for Series X. If I like it I’ll purchase the second on PS5.

I’m really not a huge zombie fan but I think the gameplay itself looks super dope and I’m a sucker for most open-world games. Tough call!

Taking a break from Genshin Impact this weekend. Instead I’m jumping into Uncharted Legacy of Thieves on PS5 and Dying Light platinum edition over on XBSX.

Both stellar games so far.

This game looks dope! I will most certainly pick it up. Sure, I got Game Pass and Series X too but I’m also impatient, so waiting a full year? Not happening.

Bought a used copy of lost legacy for $5 and paid for the upgrade. Not sure when I’ll get around to play it, though.

Interesting list but I don’t really know what to make of it.

I just discovered Genshin Impact (albeit not via Twitter). Great game, haven’t spent a dime and I still find it fun and interesting after 20+ hours of playing. Should keep me busy til next month.

Mostly Genshin Impact. New to the game, no idea what I am doing but chugging along and having fun!

Not a huge fan of F2P games but this one is pretty darn good. Was hesitant at first but happy I gave it a shot anyway. 15 hours in, so far so good!

It’s a good lineup, just not for me personally. Already played both DIRT 5 and Deep Rock Galactic on Xbox.

I will be trying out Persona 5 Strikers however. Not sure what to except, never played a Persona game before.

PS5: Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Hell, I normally dislike FF games because I don’t like the combat system but FF7 Remake got me hooked. Probably because it’s more action-oriented than most FF games.

XBSX: Mad Max. Hidden gem, really. Having a blast so far, surprisingly good. I’d never heard of the game before picking it up for peanuts.

@KidBoruto I thought the games were pretty straightforward and forgiving when you played with Vita-Chambers. Save the little sisters, hack all vending machines etc. For combat choose what fits you the best. Many of the powers are useful and versatile. Exploring will make things easier (finding weapon/power upgrades).

Don’t skip the story-oriented DLCs, they’re actually very good.

Pumped! I played through the trilogy recently for the very first time. Amazing games, had an absolute blast. Played them on Xbox but I’ll probably get this on PS5 if it has some cool DualSense features!

Haha, are you serious? That sucks big time! Hard pass. The only game I was remotely interested in. Mortal Shell is great but I don’t want to give up the progression I’ve already made on Xbox.

PS5: Deathloop. Hell of a lot better than I expected actually.

Series X: BioShock Infinite and Mortal Shell!

@iamtylerdurden1 I don’t have any VR equipment nor do I intend to get any. Hitman 2 was indeed good but I had already bought and finished it. Overcooked is not my kind of game and Predator was quite frankly crap in my opinion. As for Amular I tried it but I’m not much for replaying games I finished ages ago. It’s all personal preference.

Well *****. A solid month for once. Mortal Shell is great and Godfall I don’t know but I’d love to try it. I heard it’s actually been improved a lot since launch.

Great game. Too bad I already finished it. It’s a one and done game in my book so I have zero interest in NG+.

Although I didn’t encounter any game-breaking bugs, the frame rate in performance mode was pretty darn awful at launch.

Elden Ring network test and… BioShock! It’s the first time I’m playing BioShock ever and so far it’s been a real blast.

@Zag_Man Still somewhat surprised with Miles Morales. Platinum'd in like 12 hours, after that I saw no reason to continue playing.

@Would_you_kindly Sound good. They look a little like Prey. Can't say I enjoyed Prey that much (because I suck at ammo/supply management and ***** is so scarce in that game). I am guessing Bioshock isn't quite like that?
