Re: Sony Coy on Potential PS5 Price Increase

Ryall

I doubt they’ll raise the price of the configurations they have now. They might sell a more premium system for a higher price. Maybe a 1.6 TB model for $700 and then just make most those. Bit like how the digits lamely PS5 exists but very few are being produced.

The optics of selling the same thing for a higher price are so bad I doubt it do it. But I doubt it’s ever going to fall below the current price.

Re: Action RPG Valkyrie Elysium Rated for Release on PS5, PS4

Ryall

@naruball 8/16 bit pixelArt is a style. The use of 3-D models is another style. People of course have preferences for one style or another but ultimately what matters is the artist skill.

If we think about it in terms of fine art it would be absurd to say oil paints are more expensive than water colours. Therefore all oil paintings are better than all watercolours.

I think this game looks fine but it’s certainly not the best example of the use of 3-D models in a video game. If someone produces a pixel art game of the highest quality it will get praised by people who like that style. I certainly wouldn’t consider it inferior because it’s in a older style.

Re: Next Ys Game Teased with Artwork, May Have Soulslike Elements

So next time Adol wakes up with no memories the won’t be anyone around to tell him what’s going on and he has to work it out from environmental clues?

They’ve changed the combat a couple of times in the past and it’s always come out good afterwards so I’m not too worried.

Re: PS Plus Extra in Japan Gets Almost Every Trails Game on PS4

Ryall

It makes me kind of sad that of the eight old Trails games going to PlayStation plus in Japan. Only four have been released in the West. One has a release date for later this year. The remaining 3 supposedly coming in 2023.

The latest game doesn’t appear on the service hasn’t even been announced for releasing the west yet.

Of the 3 PS3 games. The english translations are available on steam.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 421

Ryall

Ghostwire Tokyo. I’m about 10 hours in and it’s my favourite game of the year so far. I haven’t enjoyed an open world game this much since Breath of the Wild.

I’m playing it on high frame rate performance mode since it seems weirdly slow on the quality and normal performance modes

Re: Sony Ships Secret PlayStation Console Prototypes Overseas

Ryall

@FatallyYours117 Technology is still advancing even if they can’t make enough of what we want now. The slim means taking advantage of that to use less resources so it absolutely will happen and will improve availability.

A pro based on a larger chip seems highly unlikely in the current climate of shortages.

Re: New and Existing Bungie Games Will Not Become PS5, PS4 Exclusives

Ryall

This is about technology and know-how. Bungie engine is one of the best for first person shooters. They’ve also successfully run live service for years and that experience will be invaluable to PlayStation.

It isn’t really about Bungie output of games. They’re unlikely to be changed by this acquisition. All the statements have been about how PlayStation will use the expertise.

Re: We Need to Talk About Tiny Tina on PS Plus

Ryall

They’ve given us standalone DLC‘s before and then never a good idea. Because they assume a skill level based on you having played the game the Game they are a DLC for. But I think this is the first time they’ve given you the game and the DLC and then in the later month just for DLC on its own.

Re: Talking Point: In Theory, Could Xbox Game Pass Come to PS5, PS4?

Ryall

If they can come to an agreement that profitable to both parties.

I think it will be similar to EA Play in that you can only use it on PlayStation if you’ve bought it through PlayStation.

There certainly not going to allow people with subscriptions acquired elsewhere to play games on PlayStation.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Now Rated for PS5, PS4 Release in Saudi Arabia

Ryall

@Jacko11 Sony usually releases games when they’re ready rather than trying to space them out. Ghost (July 17, 2020 ) and the last of us part two (June 19, 2020) release less than a month apart. Other than them not arriving on the same month it’s pointless to try and guess based on the release schedule from other studios.

Re: Soapbox: PS5's Next-Gen PSVR Headset Is Going to Drop Jaws in 2022

Ryall

I enjoyed my time with PSVR but I have long since stopped using it. Higher numbers and iterative improvements isn’t going to be enough to get me to jump back in.

If there’s a game I want to play and can’t play in the other way I’ll probably get it. But I’m passed the novelty of the existing games in VR.
