@twitchtvpat hasn’t stopped insomniac or capcom or even Nintendo. Wouldn’t be surprised if Sony is doing it on purpose to save money why even bother making games when people will buy the console regardless

@Northern_munkey PS4 games had a more noticeable leap. Killzone shadowfall and Infamous were way more impressive for its time. You’re mentioning raw hardware too not saying anything about the tiny library

@Northern_munkey probably because It’s a clear downgrade from the last half of the previous generation. PS5 has been carried by multiplats and cross gen games. Almost all of the PS5 exclusives like Returnal and Ratchet have been ported to PC or will be ported quickly and new ones take forever to release.

The Console doesn’t even have 5 exclusives worth playing total at the moment.

PS4 had the excuse of having no backwards compatibility and the PS3 having the cell what’s PS5 excuse?

This generation will easily go down as the worst when it’s all said and done. Mostly cross gen games and filler and it’s almost over already smh

@Northern_munkey have you not seen all the comments of people saying they won’t buy the game because it’s 30fps? These people can’t fathom PS5 getting 30fps games. People told me I was crazy for suggesting PS5 games would revert back to 30fps.

@DennisReynolds PS5 and Series X were good on release. The 3000’s literally barely came out then. And you should be telling this to the people who expect every PS5 game to be 60fps until the end of the consoles life, not me.

People still think PS5 is cutting edge technology when it is 2 gpu generations old. This is exactly why PS5 Pro will be released.

This won’t sell nearly as much as the first game did with the novelty of being the first major port gone.

@UltimateOtaku91 Persona was a niche series that became a multiple million seller and mainstream way later than FF. It’s had much stronger growth.

FF still hasn’t broken their highest selling record, yet persona did several times over. FF7 remake and intergrade combined has only sold 7 million. Stagnation while top games are selling 20 million+ copies now.

@Stragen8 The series hasn’t grown at all. FF7 Remake was outsold by ghost of Tsushima a brand new ip with no legacy at that time. Persona is more popular with the under 30 crowd.

It’s hard to create new things now after decades of games and people rarely even buy them anyway.

None of this is happening. Why should they bother to do anything when the console is still selling regardless? There’s no incentive for them to change.

@pirlega except that’s not true at all considering online multiplayer games generate the most income overall, and you can easily dip in and out playing a couple of matches.

If you can’t do that how do you have time to actually beat any single player games unless you aren’t finishing them or only playing short games? It would take you ages to beat a game like Baldurs gate or Zelda.

I don’t buy for second they couldn’t have finished this game. Supposedly a different team was working on this,and they were already developing those single player games alongside this.

Naughty dog ALREADY had 2 single player games in development. The fact that people believe this cancellation changed anything shows how gullible people are,you tell them certain phrases and they will lose critical thinking skills.

Nothing has changed you’ll just get nothing until 2026.

I don’t understand why anyone would be excited for this with how mediocre 2023 was and how even more mediocre 2024 looks for PlayStation. A bunch a fake “exclusives” that will get pc releases, yet people want to drop hundreds into the same ecosystem?

PlayStation fans are easily pleased nowadays compared to the PS3 era where people kept pushing for more games and features all the time. Sony doesn’t even need to try now.

Not enough exclusives

Overrated. Didn’t feel like that much a leap for 5 years between the last game,it actually made me appreciate ascension because that game actually took more risks imo. My least favorite in the franchise.

@NinjaNicky no challenging moments? People will get filtered just off the building mechanics. That’s way more complicated than a simple TPS. If you’re trying to actually win it’s not that easy honestly. You need to have the reflexes and a creative mind to win.

Anyone can play a game like cod and get at least a couple kills. Fortnite it’s easy to go 0-1.

Curious if Spider-Man will get the no1 spot again without a sale or keep dropping.

Looks to me like nick told them to put out a game and they will probably put out another game in another 2 years. This game looks like a stop gap honestly.

@JayJ For the hardcore base yes. But casual PlayStation players don’t seem to even care. As long as they can play the latest cod and fifa, and an occasional god of war or Spider-Man game, that’s enough to satisfy them.

PlayStation players being mostly single player gamers is a myth in 2023. PlayStation has become the new Xbox 360 in terms of the audience. Multiplayer focused with the occasional single player game.

Because 10/10 of the most played games on PlayStation are multiplayer games. Outside of the big games like Spider-Man and God of War, the smaller games aren’t actually selling that much. Perfect example is returnal selling 600K copies and after 2 years it still hasn’t reached a million copies sold yet.

When games like Spider-Man 2 are $70 for 15 hours of gameplay what do people expect? Those games don’t have that much replay value and are expensive…People don’t have money to buy a new single player game every week. The average person is broke now. it’s a handful of whales basically buying everything now.

@Tr3mm0r I don’t think I’m “better” but when someone who only plays like 3 games a year says a game like this is a masterpiece I’m skeptical. People want to hand out 10/10’s like candy to any good game these days
