Starting to get a little worried. What I didn't want was a complicated upgrade systems and collectables. I just wanted the classic Doom weapon set and some monsters. All this focus on the melee kills as well, we all know we'l grow tired of them after seeing them 10-20 times. Will probably wait till this ones on sale.

Sometimes you just want to shoot stuff and be a badass without getting bogged down in stories and character levelling. I just want to go to Mars with my double barrel and shoot Hell spawn in the face, please be good.

@ShogunRok Is the game perfect? No sir, not by a long shot. But I think the stuff it gets right it knocks out of the park. Its super fun to play with your friends, and Destiny provides the vehicle for that, something which no other game available right now seems to get as right as Destiny does. Mistakes have been made along the way, sure, but this will be a constantly evolving title, and I feel like the titles original potential will be achieved in the very near future.
Overpriced mandatory DLC? You betcha. But the next expansion includes the base game and both DLCs for the price of a standard title. Thats a lot of content for someone who would be new to the game. Its going to be harder to make that argument come September.

Destiny is going to be around for the next 10 years. Think about that. This site clearly has the hump with this game, and now they will be forced to play, review and post news articles about it constantly, and read a stream of comments every time arguing about it. Could this be the reason for the hate? My advice, get the frick over it and accept that its a pretty great game that a lot of people enjoy. You don't have to play it yourself outside of work, but you should respect what it is and all the people that still love playing it.

Destiny definitely deserves a spot, regardless of your own personal opinion. Journey doesn't really belong on the list, its great but its last gen, time to move on now.

Why do they have to do this at 20:00 when the working day is over and you want to play some games? Why not 08:00 when everyones in work/school?

@ToOGoodOfAPlaya You could make the same argument about the Hunters blade dancer being overpowered, or the Titans fist of havoc being overpowered. Thats the characters advantage, it also comes with limitations. You just gotta work with it.

@testyardallen Ah, don't bother with things like ships, this is just fluff. Honestly, HoW doesn't feel like a grind to me at all, Im just casually playing and enjoying right now (as casually as someone can after 350+ hours) If armour drops for me, cool, if not then whatever. The PoE is ace, and the multiplayer is fantastic right now, really enjoying this weeks iron banner so far.

Get the Iron banner to lvl 3 this week and you can purchase the etheric light for 5k a pop. Expensive sure, but its there. Iv got the glimmer maxed at the moment with another 10k in the vault, just needed this reason to spend it.

I think the key the happiness in Destiny is to find what your favourite weapons and gear are, max them out and then just enjoy that. If you try to max everything, it will destroy the fun for you.

And btw, ToO is the most bad ass multiplayer game Iv ever played, super intense matches, super fun. You want that treasure, too bad, so does your opponent, they really make you work for it. It does not get given to you. But when you succeed, you know its because you deserve it

To counter all the complaining this site does about Destiny, Im going to leave this here. Iv got over 350 hours clocked with it, making it my second most played game of all time. I like it. Its fun. Its not perfect, Im ok with that.

So can we blow up Mt.Rushmore or what?

Until such time as a dedicated console is released where the VR headset is mandatory, I can't see this idea getting too far.
