Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is Overheating and Crashing PS5 Consoles Completely

TheGrizMan

It’s definitely happening to a few players. Certainly not everyone, but it is a thing. I suspect it’s a combination of things. The PS5 can for sure accumulate dust and buildup in the internals. If your warranty is up watch a video and take it apart enough to clean out the heat sinks and fan. Not hard to do and will certainly eliminate one potential cause of problems like this.

Re: Preview: It's Virtually Impossible for Armored Core 6 to Fail

TheGrizMan

I’m definitely intrigued, but having not played the prior entries AND knowing From Software, I don’t want to play a game so difficult if it’s beyond frustrating. I don’t mind some challenge, but don’t want it to be Souls hard. At this point in my life fun is most important. I guess that can mean different things to different people.

Re: Analysts Expect PS5 to Extend Lead on Xbox Series X|S in 2023

TheGrizMan

@Max_the_German yeah this site is the only one of the three that does it. Nintendo Life and Pure Xbox don’t fanboy, but lately Push Square has really gone in. I own them all so I don’t have to miss anything, but it’s weird to feed the toxicity. Corporate slavism has always baffled me. Sony isn’t paying the average fanboy’s bills, but you’d think they have personal stakes in PS5 success.

Re: Placing Your PS5 Vertically Could Kill It, Unverified Claims Suggest

TheGrizMan

I’m sure it will affect only a small percentage of consoles, but having watched many, many repair videos, this IS a thing on the PS5. Whether or not it becomes a more widespread issue over time remains to be seen, but to scoff or ignore it would be just as silly as panicking. It has happened and multiple repair shops have reported it. It’s a very unique design and with so many out there, there WILL be a few issues crop up here and there. I’ve never had any issues with mine and I’m hoping it stays that way.

Re: Analyst Expects PS5 to Seriously Outperform Xbox This Year

TheGrizMan

PS5 will outsell Series consoles but it won’t be 2:1. Series X still sells out and a ton of people have bought the Series S as a second console. Owning a PS5 and a Series X I can honestly say they’re both great.

It will be much closer in North America as it currently is. PlayStation is resting on last generation and Microsoft is making power moves right now. They’re serious about it this generation. Yes, PlayStation has all the cultural popularity but a lot of people are buying an Xbox and playing in its ecosystem. If you’re denying that you’re not being honest with yourself. 2:1 for 2022 is a bit high. It won’t be 1:1 but it will be close. This isn’t 2013-2020.

Re: Review: Back 4 Blood (PS5) - Raising a Co-Op Classic from the Dead

TheGrizMan

Eh, it has some things that could be improved upon, but overall it’s a very fun game. Multiplayer is nearly a must for this type of game anyway. I’m not saying it GOTY, but people have way too critical opinions towards almost everything short of a 1st party release these days. It’s a shooter where you get to kill gobs of zombies. It’s best played with friends and family. It’s not quite as simple as L4D, but some things give you more flexibility and options in your character. Very few games are absolutely perfect (if any). I think if you like this kind of thing, give it a chance and find a few buddies or online friends to play it with. It can be a blast:

Re: UK Sales Charts: Far Cry 6, Alan Wake Remastered Arrive in Top 10, Selling Best on PS5

TheGrizMan

@Sakisa that’s the truth, and it’s overlooked. Plus a lot of Xbox players have Series S, which is easier to find (and many PS as primary players have the Series S for GP and future Xbox exclusives), so we would need digital sales to paint the full picture. Playstation is always going to outsell Xbox, but Xbox isn’t hurting this generation so far. You still can’t get a Series X (especially the Halo Edition) any easier than a PS5, so somebody is buying them. It’s a good time to be a gamer, regardless.

Re: Soapbox: Some Games Assume You Know How to Play Them, and It's Kinda Weird

TheGrizMan

I’m in her minority here, but I agree. A lot of games these days just make assumptions. Sure, you can find the control scheme under options, but for new or inexperienced gamers, that’s not always easy either.
I even find myself missing out on special moves or combos sometimes because there’s just not a lot of explanation. I eventually figure things out, but I do agree that too many games just assume you know how to play everything.

I miss the days where you had a manual to prep you. 😄

Re: Shawn Layden Reveals Why He Left Sony PlayStation

TheGrizMan

@Col_McCafferty sales wise, yes. The PS5 is riding the success of the PS4 and the cultural impact of the brand. Experience wise, the jury is still out. I think the hardware is fine. The management and decision making is not endearing anyone, except the most die-hard of the fanboys who think Sony can do no wrong.
