@AFCC In context, yes, it does look better than the in-game graphics. That's taking away nothing from the game at all, because it looks incredible. The great thing is that, come June 19, I can play what I've seen of the game graphics on my 'lowly' 1.82 TF PS4. I'll probably have to wait at least another console generation before I can play graphics that look as refined as that CG trailer.

@Octane As good as in-game and real-time cutscene graphics have gotten, pre-rendered CG will always look better. After all, they are produced on infinitely more powerful hardware than what $300 gets us now, or $500 will buy in November. I think the idea is to be representative of the product as a whole, rather than to showcase the gameplay graphics. I think Sony has done CG trailers for God of War, Spider-Man and Days Gone, if I'm not mistaken.

That said, I hope the next-generation consoles can get us a step closer to the quality of the CG trailers.

While this is all very exciting that we're getting two back-to-back State of Plays about the most anticipated PS games of the year, I also get the sense Sony is doing this to clear the deck before the barrage of PS5 announcements that are coming 'soon'.

For the love of God, please drop the price of the Sega Genesis Classics collection on the PS Store! That thing has been sat in my wishlist forever and I've never seen a price drop on it since launch.

I much prefer the isolated and ominous feel of this mockup cover. Do over, Sony! I know it's probably too late to change the printed cover graphics, but surely you can use this artwork for the digital version of the game?

Looks nice. I'd imagine this, and perhaps a Ghost of Tsushima version, will be the last special editions of the PS4. I wonder how come you see special editions of the Gold headset, but to my recollection there has never been a Platinum special edition.

Hmm, those misaligned seams where the black and white plastic meet on the grips looks uncomfortable. Hopefully the real thing will have tight tolerances and good build quality.

I think it looks great. Definitely an upgrade over the 2017 PS4 trailer I just watched as well.

Funny how this generation started with a bunch of remasters. Now it's ending with a another bunch of remasters. Gotta make that money before next generation makes remasters more or less irrelevant, I guess.

@GADG3Tx87 it could be down to a bad application/not enough thermal paste as applied at the time of manufacture on your friend's Pro. It may be worth it to open it up and repaste the APU with fresh, and better, thermal paste.

@SnowTiesAreCool You can see the textures on the ground drawing into greater detail as the camera moves forward and lessening in detail as it moves back. It's a great effort for sure, and I'd love to see how the PS5 will make this look even better.

@jmac1686 I know right? In Barbados, we already have kinda crappy internet speeds, so if our local ISPs take these measures as well, we could well be back to near mid-2000s internet speeds. The local gaming community will kick up a fuss if this comes to pass.

I was always interested in it since the initial reveal, but after the most recent trailer, I am PUMPED for this game. Still, cooler heads will prevail, so I will wait on reviews to see if it's actually worth my hard earned cash.

@get2sammyb Look at the precedent set by this year's Geneva Motor Show. The on-site show was cancelled outright due to concerns from COVID-19 infections, and all the auto companies have revealed their new, refreshed or concept vehicles through livestreams and other online media.

I think at this point, unless there is a major breakthrough, E3 for this year will be cancelled. We've already been told that any kind of vaccine for the virus is months away. There are already cases which allude to it being spread other than by human-to-human contact. Video game companies will opt to reveal their wares through livestreams. There will be a drastic rise in online purchases of digital game content.

E3 is dead.

@LieutenantFatman Dunno where you living at mate, but if it's anything like Barbados you'll probably get a discount of maybe $50 on the price of the PS5 when you trade in your console and headset. Mind you, a new base PS4 costs $900 still, and the PSVR costs about $1100. I shudder to think what the PS5 will cost when it reaches these shores.

Whatever the price ends up being, it best not have the digits '599.99' or be mentioned with the phrase "work two jobs to buy one."

It's been a great run, PS4.
I think that once the PS5 launches, the PS4 could be repurposed as the more attainable console and could play host to more family friendly titles going forward until the end of its production run.

PLEASE use the real PS5 logo, that mockup one is being used more than the real one.

I'd definitely be interested if the PS5 has backward compatibility with all 4 previous PlayStation generations, but it's not a make or break for me. I'd like to replay some games I had on PS1 and PS2. I never had a PS3, so there are some games that were never remastered for PS4 that I'd like to try out. The main draw of PS5 for me is the anticipated leap in graphical fidelity over what we have now.

@carlos82 Exactly how I watched it. Puts me in the mood to play through Sonic Mania again this weekend though.

I recently saw Digital Foundry's preview of the ID Tech 7 technology powering Doom Eternal, and it looks great. That preview was running on PC hardware though, so hopefully they don't have to totally gimp the game to have it running at 60FPS once again on PS4.

They're really pushing the PS4 to its limits with this one I love the art style!
