I'm adding every PS5 + game to my library, even though I don't have a PS5 yet. I'll likely be stacked with a nice little catalog by the time I grab one.

@God_of_Nowt as a developer what do you think of NX Gamer and other YouTube video game analysis channels?

@Robocod @Mega-Gazz I haven't even checked yet to see how much physical PS5 disc prices are in Barbados. Considering that on average disc editions of new PS4 games are BBD $170.00 (about USD $85.00), I shudder to think how much the PS5 discs are. Most of this extra cost is made up of the horrendous taxes and duties applied to these products on importation into Barbados, and also retailer markup.

As much as I'm a staunch supporter of physical media, it's all a bit too much for me. Most of my game purchases this past generation have been digital, and the majority of my disc games have been used purchases gifted to me by family. The only games I bought on disc new were Ratchet and Clank 2016 (launch period, but that was sold at a 'budget price of BBD $120.00 (USD $60.00) and GT Sport for my birthday 2 years ago at a steal-worthy BBD $100.00 (USD $50.00)).

I really would like to get a PS5 with a disc drive so I can still play my PS4 discs with some upgrades, but I'm strongly considering just getting a Digital Edition PS5 and just hanging onto the PS4. I won't be buying either PS5 from a local retailer anytime soon though... the cheapest I've seen the disc PS5 currently is BBD $2,450.00 (USD $1,225.00). Those are scalper prices elsewhere in the world.

@TheFrenchiestFry The NDC was one of the Play At Home Games last year, along with Journey.

I'd love if they dropped Uncharted 4 as a limited time free game on Play at Home. It was a huge game for them, it's old enough now that I imagine most of it's sales potential dried up a while ago and I don't already own it 😁

I've already got ABZU and The Witness in my library from the last time I subbed to PS Plus in 2019. I only recently re-subbed (thanks to that great CD Keys deal you posted a couple weeks ago). Would I have to 'reclaim' ABZU and The Witness again from the Play At Home list or would they be automatically added to my list of 'owned' non-PS Plus games?

I've seen plenty folks on other forums saying that they 'never cared about Bethesda's games', 'Bethesda makes buggy trash games', 'they've been bought to just make GamePass filler' blah blah blah.

Squash all of that.

The fact is, they are a publisher of some very popular franchises and if people that are just on PlayStation lose access to future iterations of those franchises it will be quite a blow. But, you know, there would be a simple solution to that: just buy into where the games are, if you truly love them. Xbox isn't going to 'kill' PlayStation from this, and the increased competition will ultimately be good for the industry overall.

I had a pretty good session on Gran Turismo Sport and I started Final Fantasy VII Remake early this morning. It's slowly growing on me.

@get2sammyb Seems like quite a deal. I was about to pull the trigger to buy the sub from Amazon for the regular price, this way I'd be able to get 2 years worth for less than the price of 1 year. I should hopefully have a PS5 within that time. Has anyone ever had any problems activating a USA PS Plus code from CDKeys outside of the US? I'm in Barbados and I've always bought PS Plus for my US account from Amazon with no issues, but CDKeys shows a warning that I wouldn't be able to activate the code in Barbados.

@tselliot @Waffles12415 Upside: if you ever lapse on your PS Plus subs, the copy you bought outright will still work and is yours to do with as you please (assuming you bought the physical edition, that is).

Cory probably gets a ton of abuse online from self-entitled gamers harrassing him about GoW. I can only imagine the stress the devs are under, especially with the increased scrutiny following the Cyberpunk 2077 debacle. I'm glad he's putting this out there. Quite right too.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing with these concept sketches, I hope I'll have a PS5 by the time this game comes out. If not, I would happily get it for PC or PS4.

@alexgs If Sony keeps installing Astro's Playroom (a great game, by all accounts) on every PS5 throughout its lifecycle and the console goes on to sell 80M+, I'd call that one of the best-selling games ever, not a commercial failure.

Bets that when the trailer comes out, Tails is an actual Arctic fox and the movie gets delayed to redesign him to look like the game character.

What would really be crazy is if it ended up selling more on Xbox and Nintendo platforms than on it's native PS or if it debuts on GamePass day one while Sonny still has no equivalent service 🤔

@David187 while you are right in saying that, my point is Insomniac was not a first party studio when either R&C or Spider-Man launched. They hadn't been acquired by Sony yet.

I'd wager to say that Ratchet and Clank and Marvel's Spider-Man shouldn't really be on this list because Insomniac wasn't a part of Sony's Worldwide studios when those games launched.

Being devil's advocate, unless MS pulls one out of the hat and breaks Sony's streak with a stellar release of Halo Infinite...

Just picked up the Sega Mega-Drive/Genesis Collection on Steam, so I'll be making my way through that. More games than I ever had when I owned a Genesis back in the day, so I'm happy

@Tharsman it'll be interesting to see if Microsoft does follow suit, seeing as how they have (1) marketing rights for Cyberpunk 2077 and (2) the weakest of the 8th generation consoles.

Haven't played SnowRunner in a couple of months, but I'll jump back in to try out the PS4 mods

I don't have as much time to play games as I'd like nowadays, but when I do, I always tend to fire up a single player game on my PS4. This is true even when I have an active PS Plus sub (which I haven't had in over a year) and even then I kinda only play multiplayer in racing games. I fully support Sony's continued push with single-player games.

Hopefully any Travis Scott-branded special edition PS5 won't be in the same Cockroach Brown colour as his unfortunately inaccurate 'Batman' Halloween costume.

While some of these custom paint jobs are indeed cool, personally I wouldn't do it if I had a PS5 this early in my newly purchased system's lifespan. Suppose something goes wrong with it shortly after the customization that requires it to be sent back to Sony for repairs / replacement? I wouldn't want to risk them (Sony) saying they won't repair or replace my system because of "unauthorised modifications that alter system operation." I know it's a bit ridiculous, but I wouldn't put it past them.

@Shepherd_Tallon enjoy your new PS5 man. Did you get the disc version of the Digital edition?

Congratulations to Sony. I will explore getting a PS5 next year from a reputable retailer, after the shortages and launch bugs will have (hopefully) been sorted out, and the scalpers have taken up residence in their specially reserved section of Hell. Until then, quite happy to keep playing on my PS4.

I wonder if they will do anything to improve the cloth simulation physics on the player models this gen, as it currently still looks like the clothes are made of modelling clay.

I've had a 500GB PS4 for almost 5 years, and I' ve always deleted a game after I'm done with it, safe in the knowledge that if I want to play it again that I either have the disc on hand or in my digital library. It will be the same when I get a PS5 😎

I use a pretty good 1080P monitor with my base PS4 now, and I have no immediate plans to upgrade it when I eventually get a PS5 in the next year or so (purchasing a PS5 will be quite expensive for me). So can I look forward to the picture quality being super sharp on my current monitor due to the PS5 supersampling to that resolution?
