Re: PS5 Has 667GB of Usable Storage Space on Its SSD

Turismo4GT

667GB of storage space is absolutely fine for me. I never sought to upgrade the internal 500GB HDD that came with my PS4, and now I've got a 1TB USB portable HDD attached to it that I keep most of my games on. Since I will likely be playing mostly PS4 games on the PS5 for the first year at least, I will be able to manage the PS5's lack of space. I won't be buying at launch, so who knows by the time I'm ready to get a PS5 there may be a model with a higher capacity SSD.

Re: PS5 Stand Solution Is Seriously Nifty

Turismo4GT

So, there seems to be a pattern developing here for how I orient my PS consoles:

PS1 - Horizontal (had a late model OG PS1, never had the disc read error that made some people place it vertically)

PS2 - Vertical (just looked better that way to me and I had one of those stands with the slots to store my game cases next to the console)

PS3 - (never had a PS3)

PS4 - Horizontal (never bought a stand and I don't like how it looks stood vertical anyway)

PS5 - (whenever I get one, I'll have it set up vertically, not really a fan of how it looks in horizontal orientation)

Re: This Is How NBA 2K21 Looks on PS5

It looks great overall, but I must admit I'm a little disappointed that you can still make out polygon edges on the jerseys in the screenshots. Still, that doesn't detract from how good it looks in motion.

Re: Sony's Sending Out Yet Another Wave of PS5 Emails

Turismo4GT

@eddie429 My comment was encompassing of people that may be on the fence of getting a new console in November or upgrading/buying a new gaming PC rig in a few weeks. In the past few days there have been people online that are saying that they will skip buying a new console and just upgrade their computer's GPU and other parts when the new hardware releases. Granted, if this comes to pass it I think it would theoretically have more of an impact on Xbox Series X sales than PS5's sales simply because of the exclusives that will be available on Sony's system.

That said, not everyone will be able to drop $500 - $700 new GPU or a new console because of the current state of the world. The fact that Sony and MS continue to hold out on pricing / preorder info this late into the year is just adding to the frustration of those would have to budget to get what they want. I'm in that boat myself.

@JohnKarnes True, but when you consider the 3070 still outperforms the 2080 (and in addition the new consoles) by a considerable margin for $500, if you've already got the oter hardware to take advantage of that card the value of it is pretty good. Possibly even the 3060 may be able to go toe-to-toe with the consoles, whenever that card is announced.

In addition to the frustration we're all feeling because of this waiting game Sony and Microsoft has us all involuntarily playing, now Nvidia has (smartly) thrown a wrench in our next-gen upgrade plans.
"Hey Sony and Microsoft, your consoles are on par with our 2 year old high end GPUs? What's that you say? The consoles will be able to outperform current top tier PCs? Well we'd like to introduce you to our new 3000 series cards."

Re: Chinese Action Game Black Myth: Wu Kong Is Attracting a Lot of Attention

Turismo4GT

I agree with everyone that the game looks phenomenal, and even though I'm not usually a fan of Soul-like gameplay, the quality of animations and the cadence of the dialogue (even though I can't understand a single word they're saying) has my interest piqued.

I can't say it would be a PS5 system seller for me, but I will at least play a demo on my gaming laptop if one is released on Steam. I can hear my 1660 Ti GPU crying out already.

Re: Guide: All PS4 Controller Colours

Turismo4GT

The Jet Black controller that came with my PS4 died one night back in 2018, so I hopped a bus and went to one of the local gaming stores here. $160 later (yes a DualShock 4 costs that much in Barbados) I had a brand new Wave Blue controller in hand. It was the only colour they had in stock that I liked, but I would really have loved to get a Steel Black version instead.

Re: Reaction: The Spotlight Is Now on PS5's Launch Lineup

Turismo4GT

The perception tables have really turned. Just a few short months ago it seemed Microsoft was ready to 'Jump In' to Gen 9 and Sony looked like the laggard. I guess playing it's cards close to the chest has to this point worked out for the Japanese brand. I believe both platform holders still have some major news to put out (besides the price and on sale dates, of course) and I hope both of them do well.

Re: Bus Simulator 21 Makes a Stop on PS4 Next Year

I've not seen the inside of a bus or any public transportation in months due to the pandemic. I ride my bike everywhere I have to go. Maybe I should pick up this game to remind myself of the non-sweaty, less well-developed legs times.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 336

Turismo4GT

I finally got some gaming time in early this morning so I've been playing Sonic Mania and Snowrunner since around 1:30am. I'll try Snowrunner in multiplayer tonight (thanks Sony) and may finally jump into Horizon Zero Dawn. I saw the comparisons of PS4 and PC and that reminded me I never actually started my copy on PS4

Re: Poll: When Will You Buy a PS5?

Turismo4GT

I'll look into getting a PS5 in a couple of years post-launch. As exciting and tempting as a new piece of kit is to get, I don't like to buy 1st run hardware. The possibility of manufacturing faults and bugs is just too high for me to sink my hard-earned money into something that may break down soon after purchase. Living in Barbados also gives me limited, and very expensive, options to have a busted system repaired under warranty should something go wrong. Hopefully my 2015-era PS4 will last until I decide to get a PS5.
