Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Honour Mode Is Already Beginning to Break Players

@Kidfunkadelic83 I watched a number of YouTube videos which really helped me get to grips with it. Having a slightly better understanding really elevated my enjoyment of it. If feeling a little lost, as I did, I highly recommend checking out some “thing I wish I’d known…” / “beginners guide to…” type of videos

It’s a great idea. I can sometimes overthink my decisions and reload when I think I’d prefer a different outcome. Being completely accountable for everything and just having to stick with it, as stressful as it might be, would definitely make for a much quicker and a more weighted play through, which I quite like the sound of!

@kyleforrester87 Yea, I have no doubt they will get it right, but I detest that side of social media and playing video games is a good way to escape it. Hopefully they implement it in a way that doesn't grate, and as @Steel76 says, if we can blow them up perhaps i'll let it slide

@GeeEssEff there is just so much to it! The far reaching impact of every decision is amazing. I haven’t touched multi classing either, I’ve been playing as Shadowheart and kept her relatively as is. My next play through id definitely create a unique character. I’m curious how Shadowheart would really respond to situations when not playing as her. The replay value here is insane.

Re: Star Kaitlyn Dever Could Be The Last of Us TV Show's Abby

Like others I always thought she would have been a fantastic Ellie. Her performance in Unbelievable and Dopesick was incredible.

I suspect season 2 is going to be the filler between the first game and second game. If that is the case then she doesn't need to be bulked up for this season and it could be the aftermath of the hospital and the beginning of her training.

Re: Another Baldur's Gate 3 Patch, Another 1,000+ Fixes on PS5

BG3 is absolutely amazing. Any bug I have encountered has been relatively minor, and sometimes hilarious and hasn’t been disruptive to the overall flow of the game.

That being said, since this patch combat has felt a bit more sluggish than normal, with button presses taking some time to be acknowledged. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or a result of the patch. Anyone else noticed anything like that?

Re: Soapbox: I No Longer Think Subscriptions Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are the Future of Gaming

Ward_ting

I’m on the fence here. Although a completely different form of medium, I was SO against Spotify and music streaming when it first started making waves. I owned so much music physically and digitally and felt there was no way on earth that subscription services could ever replace that, but how wrong I was. I absolutely love Spotify and its convenience, and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon.

I do think the same could happen for games, which in some sense is sad. In a world where Cloud technology actually works well, that is when I see gaming subscriptions really excelling. That’s a long way away but I think it’s written in the stars, although I hope I’m wrong.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West's Big PS5 Burning Shores Expansion Won't Break the Bank

Forbidden West's fidelity was absolutely fantastic and is possibly still unrivalled by games since. I am really curious about the decision to make this PS5 only and am hoping we really do see some further improvements to justify the decision not to make it cross-gen.

@Dezzy70 given that Frozen Wilds was about 8 hours without the side content and about 17-18 hours doing all the side content, I expect this will be similar. Even if it was only 8 hours I think £15 for an 8 hour quality experience is more than worth it.

Re: Ubisoft Helps Out Its Writers by Implementing AI Tech to Do Their Job for Them

Ward_ting

I hate the direction the world is moving in. Today I saw a tweet about an AI inhaling songs by The Beatles and then churning out music that sounds like them. It was not a great song, admittedly, but it’s still a scary thought, especially as the tech is doing this in its infancy. Where does the line get drawn? Surely the evolution of the tech could lead to AI even generating whole games?

This is the Beatles inspired song for anyone interested:

Re: Hogwarts Legacy's PS5 Platinum Is a Pain in the Ass

I did consider the plat for this but I never want to look at another Merlin trial again so count me out. The reward for finding collectibles and loot etc is just not worth it. What started off as a fantastic game (and I do still feel it is mostly excellent) has now become a bit of tedium. I burnt myself out with the collectibles and challenges I have completed and now just plan on ploughing through the remaining main quests. They could have reduced all that stuff by more than half and that would have been the sweet spot. I’d also possibly have considered replaying the opening as different houses if the other stuff wasn’t so tedious.
