I think all those bugs are due to how the PlayStation store works. Some other common bugs are the digital preorder and the actual game after release having different licenses (!) and the PS Plus versions having different licenses from the usual versions.
@3Above I personally hate mini games period. They were the worst aspects of FF7 Remake and they are the worst part of Rebirth. Some are so bad I wonder if they beta tested it at all. I would love if they patched an accessibility option that lets you skip them while giving the rewards (that are not useful, with minimal exceptions), like other games do.
I am not an analyst but Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most popular games ever made so the sales seem low? I wonder how better it would sell of it had PC or Xbox or PS4 port.
Still I highly recommend the game. The only fact I hate is the mini games.
@dskatter When you buy a game, regardless of distribution, you don't buy the software but a license to run the software. This was always the case. The disk simply saves you some download time.
It is true that even if they revoke the licenses, for whatever reason, you could still play the game offline. However, I can list you a lot of PS4 games that are unplayable offline. The most horrific example is the Callisto Protocol. The game runs in slow motion if you don't update it! I have three different retail versions of FF15 and not a single one has the whole game included in the disk!
@chibuki I have forgotten about this. I have no interest in Nintendo and do not watch their digital events yet they announced the release date in a random Nintendo direct without informing the backers.
For some reason I was not hit with this bug. I have to beat the final two chapters on hard, beat some MINI GAMES IN HARD (I HATE THEM ALL especially the pull ups and the battle arena) and I have some of the Brutal and Legendary challenges. I don't think I can platinum the game. I have the platinum in the first game but I after this they patched some new extra bosses in vr that crush me and I have never beat them.
So far I had only one MAJOR issue. A Brutal VR quest always crashes in me if I used Aeroga and I am in the Graphics mode.
Another minor bug is that in the final boss of chapter 12 Cloud had zero hp and I could still play until I was hit again.
@dskatter I have games that are literally unplayable or missing content if you play them offline from the disk.
Thanks for bringing attention to this, it is a huge issue for the majority of backers. I was a digital version backer of this game, fortunately. Note that extra stuff will be sent as a second package with the same problems.
I get that maybe development on PS5 Pro started before it seemed that cross gen would not stop and it seems to be a good piece of hardware but the issues are the games. PS5 has three exclusives, Spidey 2, FF16 and FF7 Rebirth and all are coming to PC, the FF games relatively rather sooner than later. Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok and the Resident Evils games played adequate on my launch PS4 model and I really enjoed them there. I know that I am in the minority that plays mostly games from japan but if PS5 didn't have FF it would loose major selling points for me.
More on topic I was skeptical on the PS4 Pro, it seemed useless to me. But when I finally got one and swapped the drive with a "good" SSD I really enjoyed it. PS5 Pro sounds a cool piece of hardware but the cpu may bottleneck it. AI upscale is a good idea but it may lead to more unoptimised games.
It seems to have been discounted to €480 or €475 for the majority of eurozone countries (France, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Germany). They did something similar last month and some months before to "remove" the stock of the OG model.
In any case €475 is a "good" price for what you get.
@sanderson72 You are right, I totally forgot this. I also have a PS4 with an internal SSD and it downloads up to three stuff simultaneously, if I recall correct. However, as you stated the "copy" can be extremely slow in any PlayStation console depending on set up. It surely is very slow in some cases.
@kirkn The PS5 is an impressive piece of hardware and I am very happy with it, even though the only real exclusives are Final Fantasy games which was the selling point for me either way.
That said the OS is bad with frustrating menus, lots of useless options. Some processes like copying games are very slow, the media support is subpar, no actual folder support. And the most bizarre of all games not in the home screen do not update automatically and there is no way to back up PS5 saves.
@E5115271 You can only back up PS4 saves on USB, not PS5 ones. And their paid PS Plus cloud saves doesn't even work well. It has some bizarre sort of limit on how many save files you have. When I was a subscriber, it always told me that I am out of space even though I was not even close to the actual GB limit.
Another useless update. Although, to be honest, the only think I want is the ability to back up PS5 games on a USB. You can only do this for PS4 games.
I don't care for Suicide Squad or Harry Potter but say that you wanted to take another shot at a live service game. What a better IP to do this than a Harry Potter game, especially with the new series approaching? I guess they will mess it up but it could work
@Ralizah I will definitely play it again in the Steam Deck when it eventually arrives on PC. Hoping for no Epic Games exclusivity non sense this time around.
To be honest I am not a subscriber to any ps plus tier and I have no reason to, but if they had Horizon and Spiderman there day one I would subscribe and I think I am not the only one.
Watching this bizarre podcast was a waste of time. We will bring four games but we won't say which. Some others may come in the future or not... Basically, what Microsoft more or less always said in the past.
I am a huge jrpg fan but, even if the dub is not that good, I prefer to understand what the characters talk without having to read tons of text. I still don't get why the Atelier developers stopped providing dubs. They said it cost too much or something
I really like FF16 but the story doesn't feel that complete. Seems that they really didn't know how they wanted the game to end. As for a possible sequel I would like to see what is there beyond the ocean but I would much prefer a new FF17.
I am not sure that this DLC is not that anticipated though. In Sony's blog and in various forums I see a hate to this due to the rogue like nature. In any case I will play it as soon as I can. It is cool that they also offer the DLC for PS4 players unlike the HFW situation.
Wait when did SEGA confirm platforms for the new games? JSR could be a live service android game. Also, Microsoft could buy the game for Game Pass due to the platform's history with JSR.
I really hope though that the new games are fully console games without the nonsense exclusivity that SEGA Ages and Virtua Fighter 5 currently have.
I will certainly not stay up in 2:30 in the morning to watch a show that will end in 5:00. Couldn't they have chosen a better time for Europeans? Or do it one day later?
To be honest I have no idea who Jaffe and Connie or Totoki are and I wasn't even aware who Ryan was before he tried to close the PS Vita store and made me rush to buy the PS1 classics I missed only for the store to remain open. I am pretty sure the same applies to most, even they follow the news a lot.
I don't get what the issue here is. Everyone that worked in the original versions is credited. Everyone that has not worked in the ports is not credited. Why it should be any different?

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Has Sold Around 2 Million Copies, PS5 Player Data Suggests
@AJ1 I don't want to spoil anything, but the stupid ones are tied to side missions and not the main story.

@Andy22385 The ones that are pain are the 3D brawler and the push ups thing.

They should also give you the option to lower the difficulty in all mini games.

The game plays very well and looks great even in the base PS4. Too bad the story is a cliché and generic mess.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2024?
After many years of being a plus member I let the sub lapse. The price is way too high and I only paid for cloud saves anyway.

Re: SEGA Wonders Whether Releasing Sonic Superstars Next to Mario Was a Good Idea
I am in the Minority but got Superstars instead of Spider-Man 2 and never had any real interest in Mario games.
Still, I would prefer a game in the pixel style of Mania or Origins. Some elements blend together and some of the late bosses need rebalancing.
Re: Promising Detective RPG Decapolice Delayed to Next Year
